KINGART 100 Designer Series Sketching & Drawing, Set of 75 Art Set Assorted

Much of the value I feel is in the packaging. It's a great case that is sturdy, looks nice with a leather covering, and keeps the pencils organized.
There are 5 graphite pencils, (3B, B, HB, H, 3H), 12 pastel pencils, 3 charcoal pencils, .3 ink pen, 36 color pencils, 12 pastel sticks, 3 small blending sticks, plastic eraser, and a pencil sharpener.
The quality of all these supplies are pretty good. I was say middle of the road good. They're not the best, but they not bad either. I use some expensive stuff sometimes and I have to say I would use these regularly.
The pastel pencils are soft so you have to watch how you sharpen them. Only do it with the provided sharpener, not an electric one. The led inside is strong, none of mine seem broken. The sticks are really soft and leave a powder. The sticks I like better because they're easier to spread. I use the sticks for details.
The color pencils color evenly and they're not waxy like Prismacolor, which I actually like. It gives a light even spread.
The pencils are good as well and don't leave a lot of dusting that cheaper pencils can do. The graphite and charcoal cling to the paper well.
It's a $70 package where $20 is spent on the case. I see this as a $40 or even $50 value, not $70.

Not a bad art set; some items I really liked, a couple seemed poor quality. The regular color pencils I didn't like; they are very hard and it's hard to get the color onto the paper without really, REALLY pressing on them; I prefer a waxier pencil. The water color pencils surprised me; they dont' work well dry, but when you hit them with a wet brush they bloom into vibrant colors. The only gripe I have with them is that there isn't a black one, which is weird. The pastels leave a lot of powder and I wasn't fond of them dry, but they, too, work well wet. The pastel pencils I don't like at all; I used the sharpener provided but the pastel cores kept breaking off. The graphite pencils are very nice quality; no breaking at all. The charcoal pencils seem pretty nice. The eraser is good quality, and the sharpener is very sharp and solid- no blade wiggling. The blenders I've never used before, so they are a new toy that seems to work nicely.

One of these days, I'm going to retire, and it occurred to me recently that I was finally going to have some time to do things I've always wanted to do, including adding to my (pretty much non-existent) artistic talents. I picked this set because of the variety of pencils it offered me.

The kit comes with pastels, charcoal, pens, colored pencils, and a variety of color and blending sticks. I suspect at the price that these aren't the highest artist quality you can buy, but I love the variety that lets me experiment and test out different kinds of pencils and approaches without having to buy a whole set of everything just to learn.

and I love the case with drawers. It's lovely quality, and the drawers keep everything together and makes me feel like I'm organized even I have no idea what I'm doing.

Highly recommended for the aspiring artist. We all have to start somewhere, and so far this is a great start for me.

We got both the King art 100 and 121 and you'd think the 100 would have less in it than the 121 (it actually has more), and although this has 75 pieces and the 121 has 74 (confused yet?!). King Art's 100 comes in a 3 tier tray leather kit. The top drawer has colored pencils, there is a nice range of colors. The next drawer has pastel sticks (several broke in transit) as well as blending sticks, an eraser, a sharpener, and watercolor pencils. The bottom has pastelle pencils, charcoal pencils, a fine point marker and graphite pencils. It's a nice set and the packaging is nice, but the value really isn't there. I'm not sure why this is so much more expensive than the 121 (which is more pastel stick focused)

This set has a good variety of materials. The better parts of the kit are

- soft pastel crayons and color pencils that blend easily and have a rich color
- graphite pencils of good quality
- auxiliary items including a metal sharpener, eraser, and blenders

Weaker parts of the kit are

- charcoal pencils that are hard to sharpen and don't blend or smudge well
- pastel pencils that are hard to sharpen to a point; cores wiggle and fall out
- water color pencils that are medium grade

But overall this is a good kit for students between the 4th and 8th grades.

Description

The moment you open the drawers of the durable vinyl leather display case, you’ll want to start sketching and drawing. Everything you need is inside. Use the sketching pencils, graphite sticks and charcoal to create dramatic compositions filled with soft grays, bold blacks and fine details. Bring your drawings to life with more than 20 colored and watercolor pencils, as well as 12 soft pastels (use dry or wet) so rich with pigment the gentlest touch releases a burst of color. Blend colors and media with your fingers, use the blending sticks for finer touches and the fine-tip marker to accentuate key elements in your drawing.

This is a gorgeous drawing set. The leather storage cast is sturdy and looks great. The sliding drawers are really handy. I would have loved this set as a teen. At the current price of $45, it's a really decent price for everything included. There is quite a large variety here: graphite, charcoal, ink, color pencils, pastel pencils and sticks, eraser and blending, and a sharpener. The quality isn't the greatest - some of the pencils break easily. But it's a great starter kit for a young student or an adult who is new to art.

This is a good set of art supplies of good quality. Often these kits for little kids have 75 pieces, yes but 20 crayons or something. This set is much better than most: sketching pencils, graphite sticks, charcoal, 20 colored and watercolor pencils, as well as 12 soft pastels. This could work as a beginner set of for a more practiced artist who needs a small kit to keep with her. This is smaller to carry than lots of set are.

My son loves to draw, so this is the perfect set for him. While this is not the top-of-the-line drawing set (but more of a middle of the road type drawing set), it is the most expensive set he's owned. The case it really nice, and holds everything (which is alot) in. This is a great set for a younger artist who is just starting to grow in drawing and sketching.

I really like the set up of this art set with the drawers. Depending on what I want to use I can just pull that drawer out. The dividers can come out too so watch out for that. The watercolor pencils work great. You do have to apply more pressure when using these than regular colored pencils. They sharpen fine and the sharpener that the set comes with works well. I would like to have a black watercolor pencil or some more regular colored pencils but the kit doesn't have them. Other than that it’s a good color selection and the colored pencils are smooth. The rectangle regular pastels work great and the eraser works with them. The pastel pencils are less than ideal though. They don’t come sharpened but when you try to sharpen them they continually break so you can’t use them. It feels like the center pastel part of the pencil is all broken up. I couldn’t use them and couldn't sharpen them. Apart from the pastel pencils, this is a really nice drawing set.

This art set has been great for my daughter. It has many shades of colors for her to use. Most of them are regular colored pencils, but it also contains watercolor, charcoal and pastel pencils. Most of them are sharpened already, but some of the more fragile ones are unsharpened. My daughter is using the included sharpener on them as she needs them. The sharpener works well and makes a sharp tip without breaking off any of the color. The set has a polymer eraser too and some blending tools that she mainly uses with the pastel sticks. All the pencils and colors work really well. She has used a variety of art paper with them. One of the best features of this set to me is the storage. Everything fits in trays that are in three drawers of the case. Everything stays put and has its own slot. It keeps all the tools organized and ready for when my daughter needs to find something to use.
