Smooth surface, bright colors, no wooden chips.The sizes are good. They are not huge but the smallest part is impossible for baby to swallow. Package suggests 18 months+ and I think it's accurate. Comes with different level sets which will keep 1.5-4 yr kids from being bored. All the different shapes can be mixed together as stacking blocks as well. Overall good price and high quality.
This is a great value. Well made. Four separate puzzles that each become slightly more complex. My almost two year old and my almost three year old both enjoy working these puzzles together. Glad I bought it!
Our 18 month old granddaughter loves these puzzles. They are of multiple difficulties so a child can grow with them over time. The adults in the room even had fun with the more difficult ones. The one "issue" is that the flexible pegs took a little getting used to versus solid pegs on other puzzles but this is likely a safety inclusion and was quickly mastered.
Well made, sturdy, and colorful puzzles! Shapes and colors can be easily taught and the puzzles vary in difficulty. The age suggestion for the toy is 18 months plus. An 18-month-old will enjoy the feeling of the wood and colors, but will probably only be able to put one of the puzzles together with help and/or practice. A couple of the puzzles are complex. One can be put together in different ways and the colors can be arranged in more than one way. All in all, this is a great toy, can teach a child so much about spaciality and instinctive thinking.
Purchased these for toddler's first birthday - she started playing with them then and has every single day since. Excellent construction - the pegs are attached via elastic cord, so they have some "give" to them (great for little ones working on coordination). She loves mixing and matching between the different puzzles too - the "donut" pieces fit in the holes for the "fraction" pieces, as do the single holed squares. Hands down a favorite toy, and well constructed.

The pain chips off. I wish it was paint free. This would be perfect. I’m disappointed about the paint. There is no need for the paint because it is just distracting for the child (I have a masters in child brain development). The focus should be on Learning the shapes. Not colour. It’s unnecessary. My son is 17 months old and absolutely adores these puzzles, I love the fact that he can Move up in difficulty offering a nice challenge for him which he loves since he loves to sit and do puzzles. I agree that there was a strong chemical smell when opening the packaging but it smelled mostly of the plastic that wrapped each puzzle otherwise the puzzles Themselves don’t have a noticeable odor that I have noticed
I really like these puzzles. Do not be fooled into thinking they are too easy, they are not! They challenge kids😉
