I really hate crappy reviews and I spent 3 hours researching what the best shampoo would be so I hope this review helps you so you don't have to go through the literal hell of researching I endured.
I have very fine, medium length, naturally straight, brown hair. My hair has not been dyed and I rarely do anything damaging like blow drying or straightening. My hair is REALLY dry and I have dandruff because I used crappy sulfate, alcohol, and silicone ridden shampoos like Head and Shoulders and Herbal Essences.
Let me say right now that this product is very good. If that's all you needed to feel convinced to buy it, then do it. If you're like me and you need every single little detail, continue to read.
I've washed twice now with this shampoo along with two other products, the Silk 18 Natural Conditioner and Aria Starr Beauty's 100% pure argan oil. Before, when I would wash with Head and Shoulders, my hair would be SO dry, my scalp would flake, and a bunch of my hair would fall out while washing. I kid you not, I had a fist full of hair every time I washed. After washing with this shampoo (and the other products as well) my hair was soft, my scalp wasn't flaking, my hair didn't tangle all day, and my scalp didn't get greasy. Wash number two with this shampoo was life changing. A total of 8 strands of hair fell out, that's it. My hair is incredibly soft, my friends all noticed a difference, and I honestly am obsessed.
When I apply, I use one dime sized amount and apply directly to my scalp, then I add a bit of water, lather a bit, and then use one more dime size amount to spread throughout the rest of my hair. Then, I follow with conditioner and 100% argan oil. The shampoo is the only product I apply directly to my scalp, and I can tell you that it has made quite the difference. It takes a learning curve because sulfate shampoos lather and make bubbles, this shampoo doesn't. It's alarming at first because we're taught to believe that bubbles = clean, but I promise it's cleaning your hair. It also doesn't really have a smell, which I don't mind.
The product itself shipped fast, although I'm an Amazon prime user so maybe I'm biased. My product was very safely packaged with bubble wrap and everything was separately put into bags. They provide 3 different caps, one of them being the pump you see in the photo. I like that they give you options.
I wasn't sponsored or anything, I'm just a poor college student with dry hair and I did far too much research on shampoos so I could feel good about spending $13.
TL;DR this is a great product. Never buy sulfate, alcohol, and silicone ridden shampoos ever again. Every time I run my fingers through my hair I shed a single tear for how much my life would've been better if I didn't dry my hair out with the crappy shampoos I used before. If not this product, please help yourself and buy shampoo that doesn't suck.
This is the second time I've ordered this, and am much happier than the first time. The first time, as many others have said, it was nearly as thin as water. However, it still did a great job of making my hair soft and and manageable so I thought I'd give it another chance. This bottle had a seal on it, and was much thicker as you would expect shampoo to be. I've only washed my hair once with the new and will update my review when I get more experience with it.
In all honesty, I am in love with the Baebody Argan Oil shampoo. I have already ordered a second bottle and gifted one each to my mom and sister-in-law for Christmas. They are almost in need of a second order as well! The product is creamy without being greasy, and I appreciate that it foams unlike some other all-natural products I’ve tried. I’m sure the suds aren’t necessary to the cleansing process but it gives me peace of mind! I love the mild smell as well. I also love the pump or pour option - I use the pump at home and then switch out for the screw-on cap when I travel, it makes it incredibly convenient and I find the pump allows me to measure the exact amount I need every time.
I am working diligently to grow my hair out for my upcoming wedding and I have already noticed a significant increase in my length after switching to this product! Also, it is incredibly easy on colored hair – I have dyed red hair, like Ariel the mermaid red, which is not easy to maintain but this shampoo is not harsh at all and has kept my color healthy and vibrant and allowed me to stop coloring so often. I have fine hair, but a lot of it, and my fiancé is Asian and it works wonderfully for his hair as well – I’ve definitely caught him using it several times! My mom and sister-in-law both have thick textured hair with some wave and they love it too. Thank you for making a product that is all-natural and environmentally conscious and also works wonders for those of us who want to nourish our hair every day! I definitely recommend this product to anyone!
A little background, I had horrible melting/chemical damage in my hair in March, and even though it's been healing, it is still pretty thin and limp. I've been searching for a shampoo to help thicken it a bit, and this product is definitely not the worst.
Pros:
- Great smell
- A little goes a long way
- Suds up very nicely
- No residue, my hair legitimately feels clean after
- Shortens drying time
- Hair does look slightly thicker
- Not TOO harsh on color-treated hair
Cons:
- Really dries my hair out
This shampoo does a lot for me, and I almost consider it a 5-star product, but it is extremely drying to my hair. I went from a very hydrating shampoo to this, and the difference of softness in my hair is staggering. On the bright side, this leaves no annoying residues, and it takes a few minutes less to dry my hair because of this, which makes a difference. Also, my hair is noticably thicker, which is a huge plus, just wish it wasn't so drying.
I've only been using this shampoo for a week, so I'll update later on if anything changes from this review.
I thought Argan Oil Shampoo was just another 2017 beauty hype but after a couple uses, I gotta say otherwise. My hair is less frizzier than before and seems to be growing a bit faster than how it's been for the last year or so. The only complaint I have is that the shampoo is a bit watery which makes it a bit difficult for me to transfer to my hair once pumped into my hand, but I can live with it if the results make up for it.

This shampoo works really well. I have thick curly hair that has been tames by a keratin treatment. This shampoo cleans hair without drying it out. I usually prefer a more fruity or sweet smelling shampoo but this one is okay. The smell sort of reminds me of a light men's cologne. I use a Shea Moisture leave-in conditioner and the combined smell is good. With that said I would buy this shampoo again. It leaves my hair feeling clean, smooth and soft. The oil doesn't leave a heavy residue at all.
I am 71 years old and have relatively long hair. In general, my hair is on the thick side, but it had some damage from heat curling. Since the shampoo contains a lot of oils, I was hesitant to use it on my hair because it tends to be oily. For my hair, it takes 3 squirts to get enough for a shampoo, and it did not at all add to the oiliness of my hair. I have noticed that I lose less hair to my brush and my hair looks fuller. I will continue to use this shampoo since it is made from natural ingredients.
Love, love, love this shampoo. I'm on my 4th bottle. The consistency has definitely changed with every purchase (first bottle was very thin and watery, the last was thick like standard shampoo). The amount you need to wash your hair hasn't changed though. I sort of preferred the thinner formulation, only because I like to add essential oils to it for scent. It's harder to incorporate the oils when it's thicker. With the thinner viscosity you do risk spilling the product. But I got around that by using the pump mechanism that provide and applying directly to my scalp.
Regardless, the product works great. My hair seriously has never looked and felt better. I have thin, fine hair with wave. I also have a very sensitive scalp. Shampoo inevitably either makes my hair soft and flat; frizzy and dry (but will maintain the wave); manage both body and softness but will cause my hair to fall out and/or lead to an itchy, flaky dermatitis. With this shampoo my hair looks great and my scalp is actually happy! A year in, and I still haven't developed a sensitivity. A literal first. I've never made it through more than 1 or 2 bottles of other brands, even ones 3 times this price.
I've been using it over a year and my hair is thicker and longer than its been since I was a teenager. I heat dry and curl my hair every day which inevitably leads to damaged ends. But with this shampoo, my hair is stronger and more manageable, so the heat damage is waaayyyy less. Due to a move away from my hairdresser, I haven't had my hair cut in 13 months, yet my ends are still in great shape. Something I didn't think was even possible with my fine hair.
Of course everyone's hair is different, but even my husband (with thick, oily hair) likes it. I did notice that I needed to wash my hair more often for the first bottle or two until my scalp got used to the extra moisturizers. Now I wash every 2-3 days. (Incidentally, I use cheap, drug store conditioner as I need so little of it, so that helps off set the marginal cost of this product).
I highly, highly recommend this stuff! I'll seriously never be without it. Also the company has great customer service and often provides coupons. Total win!!
I bought this on Amazon Prime day since the price was so good and I'm SO glad I did. It smells great and leaves my VERY curly VERY frizzy hair feeling soft and healthy. Bought the conditioner too and love that as well.
I used to have dried out hair and scalp, and i was advised to go natural and avoid sulfate products. This argan oil shampoo was exactly what i was looking for and it really helped with my scalp and the health of my hair. Will keep using this product in the future!
