Got this for my 5-year-old and 3-year-old who both have a lot of experience with jigsaw-type puzzles. I hope that it encourages problem solving and creativity since it can be solved so many different ways. So far they love it - need some help from me when they get to the top, but they will learn quickly. Here's my problem with it: the name "Wood Intellegence" is at the top of the board, and it is misspelled! "Intellegence" should be "intelligence". This is a game intended to help your kids think, get smarter, etc but the name on the product is misspelled! That's ridiculous.
This is a pretty cool little puzzle. Some of the pieces are pretty small, so I would say for kids 6 and up. It is very difficult to do with or without the photo of the completed puzzle, but my kids like hard puzzles so this was a plus for us. I wish they offered the puzzle in a bigger size.
i enjoy it as much as my daughter does. the reason i didn't give it 5 stars is the packaging. the box is flat so if you want to clean up the game you have to put all the pieces back in such way that they connect. who has time for that??? i use a ziploc bag but it would have been nice for the packaging to be a bit more sensible.
I work with special needs kids and they love this "puzzle". It is well made, sturdy, colorful and fun. Whether it is used for sorting shapes, colors, or simply learning to manipulate the pieces to fit snuggly next to another shape. In the wooden frame or outside the frame. It is not necessary to complete the puzzle all the way to the top in order to enjoy the many peices.
My three year old loves this puzzle. I love the fact that it is wooden and has nice colors. There are of course multiple ways to place the pieces to complete the puzzle. She finds different combinations and I enjoy doing it with her too. it is a good alternative to computer games. I gave this puzzle to my daughter about 2 months ago, and she is still interested in it.

This has been so fun for my kids! They are well made, brightly colored, and hours of fun. You can use these as a Tetris game or building blocks. There are 5 of each color. While there are multiple ways to get these all back together on the board with no spaces, it is still a challenge. You won't solve it every time. Great buy and great price!
At first when my 6 year old and I tried the puzzle we wished we had taken a picture of it put together...but after a few tries we got the hang of it. It's fun at the end to figure out which pieces need to be moved to make it all fit. The puzzle can be completed in so many ways. Honestly is seems brainless until the end bc you can put whatever pieces in to start, it's towards the end you need to actually think about the moves or change some of what you did before. A fun challenge for children and adults.
BTW my board did not have the original typo it says SainSmart Jr.
This toy is like reverse Tetris. You start with a board full of pieces and somehow over time the stack gets smaller and shorter. It's great for a hands-on kid but those little straight pieces just disintegrate when your back is turned.
My boys, ages 4 & 7, love to do this. Sometime they try to build it solid to the top, other times they use the shapes to create fun things. The cut on the shapes aren't great and it has a little extra space at the top and doesn't fit to size, but my boys don't seem to notice.
My granddaughter is all about puzzles, and how awesome is this! One that she can have endless "results". I'm excited to see her try it out, and I'm thinking about getting one for my daughter as well.
