I expected this set to come with compromises, but the only one to mention is the size of the "dessert fork." No. It's something you'd see in a doll house. But if you're serving oysters on the halfshell, those forks are fine. Mainly the set is impressive as a whole because the look is elegant, and the number of pieces that come in this set is remarkable for the price. It is terrific to have matching coffee spoons in the set so they don't have to be purchased as an extra, and also so they don't have to be the same full size as the soup/dessert spoon. The tiny size of the coffee stirrers worked perfectly for my menu. But I did have to purchase dessert forks over and above what came with this amazingly generous set.
