Before I explain how to solve everyone's problems with connecting, let me start by saying this is my first smart bulb. I could not get myself to buy one for the longest time. The time came to buy a new lamp, so I decided to try a smart bulb. I bought this one used from Amazon Warehouse for $10. Now to solve all of the connection problems.
I too ran into many of the problems others wrote about in reviews. After a little bit of trouble solving I was able to figure it all out. Here's the steps I would follow in order to get your bulb working properly. Throw the other ones in the trash.
1. Download the EufyHome App from which ever app store you use.
2. Create a user account.
3. Make sure you follow the password guidelines. THIS IS WHY MANY ARE HAVING PROBLEMS LOGGING IN. IF YOU TRIED TO SIGN UP THROUGH ALEXA APP OR DIRECTLY ON WEBSITE, YOU MAY NOT HAVE MET PASSWORD REQUIREMENTS. THEREFORE, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO LOG IN.
4. In the upper right hand corner of the EufyHome App click the + symbol to add your device.
5. If your device can not be located, follow the instructions to reset the bulb(TURN OFF AND ON 5 TIMES) bulb should blink 3 times. Now you are in business.
6. Connect your device to your Wifi(you will be prompted to do this through app)
7. Once your bulb is connected to your wifi, NOW MOVE ON TO ALEXA APP
8. Search for Eufyhome in Alexa skills
9. Click enable
10. Now you will be taken to the dreaded login screen. If you followed my instructions, you should have no problem logging in.
11. Alexa will search and find your Smart bulb.
12. You are in business!

Now that you are connected, make sure you tell Alexa the correct prompt. The default name for this device appears to be MY SMART BULB. This can be changed by clicking on EDIT in the Alexa skills. I changed my name to simply "Light"
I really hope this can solve some of your problems. I was getting a bit frustrated myself and almost clicked the return button. Now I plan on buying more! I am hooked!!

Purchased two and they worked great with no issues for about a month. They were still working this morning, then after getting home from work, they were no longer responding to Alexa. Followed the troubleshooting directions to reset them. Now they won't connect to Wi-Fi at all, tried two different networks with no luck.

UPDATE: I just got a response from Eufy, apparently there was an issue with their servers that caused the bulbs not to work for several hours. I'm happy they're working again, but rather disappointed that the bulbs apparently rely on Eufy's servers to function...

UPDATE #2: 24 hours later, after bulbs started working again, I'm now having the exact same issues. Bulbs are unresponsive to Alexa and will not connect to Wi-Fi after resetting the bulbs by turning off and on 5 times as instructed by Eufy.

UPDATE #3: Bulbs have been working fine for the past few days, after two days in a row that they stopped responding. I'm not happy that bulbs were useless two evenings in a row, but the customer service has been top notch. Bulbs had issues on Friday and Saturday in the evening. Both days customer service responded through the Eufy app and by email in less than 2 hours. They even contacted me after my review to apologize for the inconvenience and ask me to give them another chance. They stated that the server problems have been resolved and "the same issue will never happen again." This is first of many Anker products I've purchased over the years that ever had a problem. Because of their proven track record of quality products and great customer service, I've decided to give them another chance and keep the bulbs. Updating to 4 stars. Will update again if any future issues arise.

Ok so I am writing this review to hopefully help the newbies to smart bulbs. The first smart bulb I bought was much cheaper 9.99 but unless you have a “hub” dont ask! I have no idea what a hub is, only that I do not have one. Anyways, without a hub my 9.99 bulb is useless. So I looked for a bulb that did not need a hub. I came across these smart bulbs. The price wasnt bad so I went ahead and ordered. You need to have a echo dot or simular product. I have had my echo dot for about a year now and could not live without it. But thats a differnt story. So you download the eufy home app, easilly done. Screw in the bulb and in a few easy steps on your phone it connects. Easy peasy! Now.. open up your alexa app, discover the bulb you just installed and wallah!!! You can voice command. I just love it!! I set up 2 bulbs in under 5 minutes. I cant tell you how relievable they are but I am definetly ordering more. If anything changes I will update. For now -I am a very happy camper.

Update: EufyHome customer support reached out to me and we discussed the issues I was having and came to the conclusion that I may have received a defective bulb. They offered to send me a new bulb at no charge and see if I had indeed just received a bad bulb. I accepted their offer and a few days later I received a new bulb. I have been using the replacement bulb for a week now and can report that the new bulb works 100% to my satisfaction

Marginal connectivity at BEST. It took me over a dozen tries to get this setup on my wifi. I had to reset the bulb every time if failed.
Once I got it working, I decided to take it to another house where it would be used more often and found the same issue. It took a reset and over 20 tries to finally get it to sync up to the wifi.
The bonus is, if you accidentally shut this bulb OFF at the switch... you have to start all over again....
I tried another 10 times after I accidentally shut the bulb off and could not get this to sync up at all. Finally gave up. I think I am going to just through this out and buy a real wifi bulb, this is not worth the effort.

Honestly I didn't know what to expect from these lights. Basically I am starting a little bit of home automation at my parents house to get them into the 21st century. With that being said I didn't want to use a hub so these were a perfect solution.

The lights themselves are awesome. I purchased the 2700 soft white and I'm glad I did. At 100% brightness these things are blinding. I put three of these bulbs in a ceiling fan and I will get more.

Pros:
Do not need a hub
They are dimmable via Alexa (hint: say "Alexa. Set [light name] to 50%") - this means you don't need a dimmer switch.
They are bright!

Cons:
Unfortunetly not needing a hub means that you will have to get the dedicated eufyhome app. I don't think its to bad and I was able to set up the lights very easy, but it can be difficult for those that are not technologically inclined.

They are a little bit longer than regular bulbs. While this isn't a problem they do stick out a bit further than the ceiling fan fixture.

Overall I will be getting more of these. They have exceeded my expectations won't break the bank.

I will update this review in a month for a more in depth review.

Was difficult to set up the first time but eventually got the app and Alexa integration working in about 30 minutes. Did not use it much (maybe 1-2 times per day) for the next two weeks but it worked flawlessly during that time. Came home today and Alexa can't find the bulb and the app shows its offline. Tried everything including deleting the app and reinstalling fresh and it simply refuses to connect to the home network - despite the fact the every other device in the house has no issues on the same network. Looking at recent reviews shows a number with the exact same issue. Returning.

[update] - see comment for full story. Eufy-side server caused temporary issue. Once fixed, light has worked flawlessly for last 9 months. Customer service very proactive and helpful. Now have two eufy bulbs and just ordered a smart outlet.

I have to disagree with some of the negative reviews I've come across so far. These bulbs are awesome.

Setup: Super easy. We have both Amazon Echo and Google Home. I started by downloading the Eufy app from the Google Play store. It directed me to set up a Eufy account. From there, you simply make sure you're on your home wifi network and install your first bulb. The bulb will blink a few times indicating it's ready for setup. You then click the '+' button in the app, and you'll see the bulb. Name it, and you're done. Then go into your respective smart home product (Alexa, Google Home) and add Eufy as a skill. It really couldn't be easier.

The Eufy app works well as a standalone. We have a 6 month old, so shouting "Alexa! Turn off the lights" isn't an option all the time. The app makes this simple.

Because they're LED, the sip energy. I found that the bulbs do a good job of outputting light in the 60w range. The color was slightly more yellow than the incandescent bulbs they replaced, but I found it acceptable.

The bulbs can be dimmed easily as well. "Alexa, dim the bedroom lights to 50%." Worked like a charm.

Once we'd installed them, we were prompted to install a firmware update...for each bulb. Did it feel odd to update a lightbulb's software? Of course. Also, if we had dozens of these things, the update process could be rather a pain. Just something to keep in mind.

Everything was smooth as butter. Should that change, I'll be certain to update this review.

Great product. I really love the fact that these smart light bulb do not need a wi-fi hub . The smart light bulb connects to your wi-fi signal via the eufyhome app (iphone in my case). Since you don't need a wi-fi hub to connect, these smart light bulb can be used in places that normally requires re-wiring like the front porch or backyard porch light.

Set up is very easy. Just launch the eufyhome app on your phone and the step by step guide will take you thru to connect your smart light bulb to your app. With the eufyhome app, you can set up a timer schedule for your light.

Plus if you have Alexa, you can add leverage it's voice command by adding these light bulbs to your Alexa app.

This is my first venture into Smart Home Tech... Couple things I learned. First, the bulb bases get very warm, almost too hot to touch. Which makes me question the total wattage used. The bulb might be 9 Watts, but the WIFI part must also have a healthy draw. Will be a while before I can put an AC Wattmeter on it to know for sure. Second I didn't realize that Smart Home Automation meant your devices were controlled by Servers out in the cloud. If the Internet gets interrupted, your Smart Home devices do too. UPDATE 10-9-2018 This turned out to not be a problem. Customer service was very responsive resulting in a Star Upgrade. In my personal test the light remembered schedules after several hours of no local WIFI. Apparently it has its own clock and non volatile memory for storing settings and schedules. Lastly, all setup or timer programming must be done on your Smart Phone using the Eufy app which was not hard to figure out. Can't access from a web page but the app works from anywhere. Alexa's "integration" with this seems to be limited to having our Dot just turn the light on or off or changing the brightness. . I was hoping to be able to program the light via Alexa... not happening. But I'll keep them.

All issues answered to my satisfaction and I appreciate the fine customer service. Downside are things you don't really have control over... size of bulb (need to buy new fixtures), heat from the ballast, and schedule recovery after power outage (though it was still acceptable).

    Outage recovery observed.

Internet outage: Bulb worked as advertised. As you indicated it has its own internal clock and NV Memory to store schedule information.

Power Outage: When power and WIFI restored, bulb turned on at 100 % and stayed on. It did however turn off at the designated time, and continued to follow the program going forward.

This is what I needed to know, as all my mechanical timers time shift during power outages, resulting in lighting occurring at odd times.

    Update: Jan 24 2018
EufyHome customer support reached out to me and explained that the problem I was having was probably due to an upgrade to their server that they were performing. They offered to send me a new bulb at no charge and see if I was continuing to experience a problem with their bulb. I accepted their offer and a few days later I received a new bulb. I have been using the replacement bulb for a week now and can report that the new bulb works 100% to my satisfaction with Amazon Echo. I feel confident that Eufy has corrected the original problem and I recommend this bulb.
    Excellent customer service!!

    Original review:
Disappointing, worked for 3 days and then stopped working. Perhaps this technology still needs more work. Item being returned for refund.
