The fact that I am able to sit at my computer and write this review alone means this is worth 5 stars. My newborn has not slept without being held since we first brought him home from the hospital. He is currently asleep five minutes after putting him into the 4moms mamaRoo infant seat. I would have paid 5 times this price for him to be able to be soothed.
Stop reading this review and buy this if you can afford to, if not mortgage your house, sell your car. It is worth it.
Bought two for my daughter who had twins! Life saver for sure!
We love this swing. I would have gave it 5 stars but the movement can be shaky. Our baby doesn't seem to mind that the movement isn't perfectly smooth. At the price point it's set at I expected it to be smooth movement.
We recieved this as a gift from my mother in law for our newborn and she absolutely LOVES it. The newborn insert holds her in snuggly and softly, the motion options are smooth, and sounds are calming. The fabric is super easy to remove for washing and I love that you can adjust the seating position. With our traditional bouncer she always seemed to slide down even with the seatbelt on snug. Thankfully we do not have that issue with this bouncer. She falls asleep in just a few minutes we are so pleased!
I have had this mamaroo for less than a week but my whole family already loves it. I am a stay at home mom. I homeschool three kids and have a one month old. My infant is rather fussy/ opinionated about being held and bounced on a yoga ball. If I wasn’t holding him he was screaming. If I got him to sleep and then laid him down he usually woke 30 mins later screaming to be held and bounced. Needless to say I lived on the yoga ball. It made homeschooling difficult to say the least as well as all the other things I needed to do around the house.
Before the mamaroo I had tried swings and manual bouncers and nothing worked. This was my last ditch effort and I was hesitant because of the price. It is worth it if you have a screamer like I do that needs to be held constantly. Since I have gotten the mamaroo I have had way more time for everything. I’m so excited!!! The one thing I was concerned about was the bouncing motion. Before I got the mamaroo I was bouncing my infant on a yoga ball. He loved that julty movement. I was concerned that the mamaroo wouldn’t be enough of a bounce for him. Although the mamaroo is not as intense a bounce as the yoga ball at all he loves it. All five different settings are smooth and different. The motions are soothing and are supposed to move like a mommy would. My son prefers the car ride on level five speed which is the fastest it goes. He sleeps longer in the mamaroo and will lay awake in the mamaroo very content. If he does wake during a nap the movement usually lulls him back to sleep.
The assembly was so easy that my seven year old and ten year old assembled it with the instructions. The assembly parts are big and click easily into place with no muscling. The hardest part to put on was the seat that zips into place, but the kids still did it.
The mamaroo stays on for four hours at a time before shutting off automatically which is nice. The app is very user friendly and the Bluetooth is easy to setup. The sound quality isn’t very good and on its highest volume isn’t loud enough to drown out other sounds. However, that isn’t why I bought it and could really care less because the other aspects of the mamaroo meet and exceed every expectation. I am so happy with my mamaroo. It gives me a lot more time to get things done. I didn’t think I would find anything that would work. I’m kind of thinking I should have purchased the warranty because I run the mamaroo so much I am hoping the motor doesn’t go out. Only time will tell. I will update my review once we have had more time with the mamaroo.

Description
It moves like you do. The 4moms mamaRoo 4 infant seat bounces up and down and sways from side to side, just like parents do when comforting their baby. Select from five unique motions, like car ride and tree swing, and five different speeds. Choose from four built-in sounds or connect it to any MP3 player. The seat reclines to multiple positions to allow baby to lie back and relax or sit up and play. The mamaRoo is also Bluetooth enabled so you can control the motion, sound, speed and volume from your compatible smart device without disturbing baby! The overhead toy mobile now includes interactive, reversible toy balls. Keep baby’s attention with the sound of the crinkle ball, rattle or reflective mirror ball. Compatibility: The 4moms app for iOS is compatible with all Apple devices newer than the iPhone 4s that are running iOS 9 or newer. The native Android app is compatible with most Android devices that support Bluetooth Low Energy and are running Android 4.3 or newer.
Really nice and sleek swing and the 5 multiple sway options are a nice touch. The swing, like all 4 moms products can be controlled from your phone which is nice when you’re across the room and baby wants a higher speed to sway him/her without being bothered. The crescent shaped seat can rotate from upright to a complete horizontal position and each position in between which I love!
Cons:
A little shakey. I noticed the sway of the swing had a slight shake that was harmless but noticeable to a very observant mommy.
The bottom portion of the seat is very low, my baby is 22” and I’m afraid after a few months her legs will hang down to the base.
Cheap mobile, doesn’t move and baby pays absolutely zero attention to it.
The nature sounds are simple and baby prefers lullabies, you have to attach a audio player to the actual swing to play music through its speakers , it would be nice to have the app do this but it doesn’t. 4 stars only because I found that useless dated especially for the price
My 7 week old was going through a rough week (growth spurt) and wanted to be held and was pretty fussy most of the day. she was fighting her sleep and would wake up once I set her down. I was recommended the rock n' play which I purchased when my daughter was 2 days old. That is what she napped in while she was in the living room during the day. I felt like she got used to the simple vertical (head to toe) rocking and it was no longer effective to soothe her. also, with the rock n' play its mostly a laying down position and I wanted something that she could sit up in and lay down in. I also HATE the typical baby equipment that is cheaply made and has obnoxious print and colors. this was a perfect find! its a sleek modern design and fits in well in my living room. (yes I care about that stuff! I noticed some other negative comments about it being geared more towards an "adult" taste but who cares?) I was weary about the price but there was a Graco swing I came across that was more bulky and your typical baby swing design for $194 so I felt like the price of this was fair for the beautiful design. I put her in this seat for the first time while she was drowsy and she fell asleep right away. about 20 minutes later she started to wake up and I changed the rocking motion to a different setting from my phone across the room with the the bluetooth setting since I am working on not picking her up every time she makes a little noise (so hard for us moms!) and she was out like a light. so far so good! I am very happy with my purchase and will recommend to all new moms. the motor in this thing is fairly quiet but if you have it at the level 5 setting you do hear it which is why I gave the "sound quality" 4 out of 5 stars. it doesn't bother me a bit tho and its basically white noise that helps soothe the baby! the one thing I was skeptical about was the mobile. it seemed like a cheap and not so interactive design. its just three stuffed balls that sit in a plastic frame how could this be entertaining? Boy was I wrong my daughter just stares at those things and is so entertained so obvious there was a scientific reason they made the mobile like this. they also double as toys, one of the balls is crinkly and one has a mirror on it so baby can hold and play with them when they grow. love it!
We originally bought this because my son hated naps and we thought this might lull him to sleep better... we were wrong about the napping but he LOVES to play in it! The three black and white balls on the mobile above keep him entertained forever. He coos and giggles constantly when it is moving. I feel very comfortable strapping him in and being able to fold clothes or clean up around the kitchen. We like to remove the balls and use for tummy time too. The crinkles and rattle keep his attention.
There are a few of the settings (tree swing in particular) that seems to vibrate when on. I’ve read a few other comments about this but ours didn’t seem bad enough to pack back up and return. I will say for the price the music feature is pretty cheap. All the sounds sound the same. I downloaded the app to be able to adjust settings and such from my phone but never use it. It is just as easy to walk over and tap. You would think with a Bluetooth setting it would give you an option to play music without having to keep your phone plugged up to it the whole time. I didn’t think the speakers were the best quality the few times I did play music.
The cloth is extremely easy to unzip and wash when needed. It keeps its shape well. Overall, great product but again, for the price wish a few things were different
SOON AS I put my 1 month old little guy in it, he stopped "air swimming." ( flailing arms and legs), not too long after that, his eyes were closed. Usually that only happens when I pick him up. So I hold him most of the time...UNTIL TODAY. I am very happy with this product so far.
I became a fan of 4Moms since my first child was born. At the time, I bought their pack and play because it was so easy to set up. I then purchased the first MamaRoo. It has been almost 5 years since then, and they continue to create great products. I am now on my 3rd child, and got this new version of the MamaRoo. It is very simple to assemble. You do not need any tools. Parts just click or zipper into place. It includes bluetooth to control the MamaRoo. If you download the App, it allows you to turn on/off the device, to select the intensity as well as the type of motion. To be honest, I'm not certain when you would want to use the App to control it, since you'd likely be close to the Mamaroo, but it allows you to avoid getting down to do it. I thought I would be able to stream bluetooth music, but that is not the case. It still includes a jack to plug in a music source, and you can use the App to start sourcing music from the jack. The sounds are ok. The speakers are not high-quality speakers, but they do the job for the type of sounds that it includes (white noise types).
Overall, I'm very happy with this product. My newborn enjoys it and falls asleep easily once it is set in motion. It is fairly quiet when moving, so you don't have to worry about those sounds waking up the baby.
