I bought this for my daughter as I have an older model that is not splash proof. I had several of the cheaper instant-read thermometers and was always unhappy with the lenght of time they took to get a reading and on some the small size of the dial. This one has big number that is easy to read and it takes a reading in just a second or two.
The batteries in mine are at least three months old and still working so battery life is pretty good also. I don't use it every day or lots of time a day like a commercial kitchen did so I assume they would get a lot shorter battery life. For home use, the batteries can last long enough to not be an issue at all.
Worth the money. It reads so fast that you don't get our hand burned and let all the heat out of the oven when cooking. Pricey but nothing else compares.

This thing is awesome and is a great way to level up your grilling skills. It comes with 2 probes. The probes are all metal with metal wires, so no fear of exposing these to heat. The main unit is battery-operated, with magnet mount and a big display that cycles through the current temperature of each probe . That's all good if you're standing nearby, but the best part is being able to walk away.
The app is very intuitive and virtually dummy-proof. For each probe, you can set a timer or a desired temperature. I can never remember the minimum internal temperatures for different meats—and I no longer have to. You can even create your own custom settings that will trigger the alarm when either the temperature reaches "peak value" or is out of the range you set.
Fantastic product! So much better than all those other remote thermometer systems that I have tried over the years. Yesterday I did two shoulder pork roasts for pulled pork and it worked great! The app is simple to use and I love the temperature graph. Can't wait to get more probes.

Works well. Lots of features, especially given the price. The only thing that is a little bit of a problem is Bluetooth has a very limited range. I have noticed this with most Bluetooth devices not just this thermometer. It will read for about 20 to 30 feet away from the grill period after that you lose reception at least I do with my phone. If you need to monitor from a very long distance away you might want to look at some other method than Bluetooth. For me I just wanted to be able to check temperature without walking all the way out to the far side of the yard to the grill. For me it works fine. I have been using it for a month or two and have smoked several pork shoulders several loads of ribs and one brisket. I'm still on the original battery and it still works as good as the first day
I have only used it 3 or 4 times, so I cannot speak to durability. But It is accurate enough, and it's really nice to know the temps of individual items on the grill. Great when I have guests over... Alarm was going off on my phone and everything turned out perfect. I can hang out while waiting for the meat to cook. Also, if I grill multiple items or even multiple types of meats at once, I know that each piece is cooked properly. Definitely recommend this thermometer.
