I wanted a simple and inexpensive travel alarm that (i) I could easily pack with me (ii) was easy to program as I travel across time zones and (iii) had an alarm that would wake me up.
This hits it on all fronts. It took me two minutes from start to finish to program the time, 12/24, date and alarm without looking at the instructions. The only slightly confusing thing is the alarm on indicator, usually in my experience near the alarm time, but in this case above the colon on the clock between the hour and minute time.
The beep is sufficiently loud to wake me (and scare one of my dogs). The pink color is bright and will be easy to see so it is not forgotten in a hotel room.
Another nice thing about this alarm clock is the hard plastic is packed in a soft silicone case, making it ideal for travel. It runs on 2 AA batteries (not included). I often remove batteries from travel clocks if they will not be in use for a long time, although with clocks that are a PITA to change, I leave the batteries in. With this, setup is SO EASY that I have no concern with keeping the batteries out of the clock when not in use.
The sole downside to me is that the clock can't be seen in a very dark room without tapping the top for the backlight. The backlight stays on for 4 seconds or so and it makes it very easy to read. It is this reason that my review is 4 stars.
It lights up only if you press on it. It is easy to find it at night due to the rubbery coat. Big numbers, I can see the time at night with no glasses. We have it for 3 years, changed battery once. It took few falls, still works. Maybe not accurate to seconds, but the time needs to be adjusted twice a year anyway. I like the 24h option. On the same night stand we have the Braun Digital Quartz Clock. Extremely accurate. More expensive. I prefer the Plummet one.
Programming this clock is SUPER easy with the four-way switch. No fussiness with press-and-hold, cycling, or time outs. Check it out:
Move switch to CALENDAR and press buttons YEAR/DATE/MONTH
Move switch to TIME and press buttons MINUTE/HOUR
Move switch to ALARM and press buttons MINUTE/HOUR
Move switch to LOCK and turn alarm on.
Done!
Some more useful tid-bits about the clock:
- The alarm sound is a high-toned beeping which ascends in loudness and speed (you can listen to sound in the product video).
- To turn the alarm off, you press any of the 3 buttons on the back.
- To snooze, you press the big SNOOZE/LIGHT button on the top (it will snooze for 5 minutes).
- If the alarm is let run for 60 seconds, it will turn off completely (this might be a bad feature for teenagers).
- To light the display for 6 seconds, press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button (the screen is normally unlit, and unreadable in the dark).
- The time, day/month, and alarm time are displayed at all times.
- It's cased in soft silicone to protect from falls.
- It doesn’t allow weekday/weekend programming, which I’m surprised, since it has date programming.
I would recommend this clock.
I don't usually write reviews but, given what is in the markeplace today, I had to. First of all, this clock is adorable in its little green cover. Secondly -- and this is the most impressive -- the directions are clear, logical, and easy to follow, unlike many other products where one needs to be a cryptographer to figure out how to make the thing work or put them together. It is easy to follow the instructions and set up the clock as one wishes. The alarm is loud and gets insistently louder till snoozed or shut off. If snoozed using the relatively large, easy to locate button, the face is brilliantly backlit, displaying the time for sleepy decision-making: to snooze or not to snooze... What more need a clock do -- and look so cute while functioning?
My 10-year-old begged me for a Minecraft alarm clock for Christmas. I could not find one and this was the closest thing that I got. He has no idea that it is not Minecraft and he loves it. It is small and compact and perfect for right underneath his bunkbed. He has learned how to use it and loves it.

While I would not use this by my bedside I do on my desk. It's compact but easy to read. If the room lighting is dim, I push the dayglo button, and the LCD screen illuminates. Has time, date, and alarm time. Simple and battery friendly. Buy one. Would be great for kids and comes in cool colors.
this is not normal--for me--to write about any item I purchase---however I must for this clock. every thing about it is perfect.
easy to program--I did it with out reading the manual--I like it looks and its operation---being a little deaf--I wish it was louder,
and in its alarm freq. is a little to high for me---but it works and is well made. if I could make it louder or lower its freq--I would do
so in a new york heart beat
This is so CUTE! I got this for my daughter (5yr) for her new school year. SHE ADORES IT. The light is easy to use, and has a strong glow. Display is easy to read and its very easy to set. Good quality of materials. We are beyond happy with it. Great price, fast shipping and so many color choices. I'll be buying another for my younger daughter!
I needed a digital clock that has a large display and this clock fits the description. It has large digital display with dates and alarm. Setting it up was a breeze, I didn't even read the manual that came with. It does not come with batteries which was kind of disappointing. It need two AA batteries for it to run. I think the color is pretty decent, and night light also complements it pretty well. Overall this is a pretty basic alarm clock so there's not much to be said besides the fact it works and the color visual is decent enough.
Love this clock! I have a bad habit of knocking my alarm clocks off of my nightstand. This one is rubber coated, so it stays in place and is padded, should it fall. The buttons are a bit tiny to read and use, but overall, I'm super-pleased with this clock. There's a nice snooze button that also lights up with luminescent green in case you want the time after dark. It's easy on the eyes and doesn't wake anyone else up.
