Got this for my 18 month old for Christmas. It's AWESOME! Perfect size, constructed well, durable. It keeps him busy, he loves sticking things in the slots and dumping them out.
I was concerned about the wheels after reading some reviews, but this truck works great on all surfaces. We have thin carpet, thicker carpet, hardwood, and tile. It rolls well on all of them!
I bought this for my nephew for Christmas 2016. He loved it (and still does).
While I'm a little skeptical of it being useful in teaching the values of environmental concepts (as in the Amazon description), kids will have fun with this truck. And parents will love it for another reason: it requires imagination, not batteries (to make noise).
I've seen it in use and it rolls well on many surfaces, carpet included. About the only drawback I see is that it has no provision for the cab to open (which may limit the imaginations of some users).
This (among other Green Toys) are definitely worthy of consideration.
This is such fantastic green toy. I got this for my son's first birthday about 5 years ago, and now it's my daughters favorite toy ever since she turned about 16 months old. Considering how rough my kids are on their toys, this is still in fantastic shape. These toys are extremely well made, and built to last.
The coolest part of all is that these are very eco-conscious toys made of 100% of recycled plastic milk jugs. These are free of BPA, PVC, and phthalates. These trucks are also dishwasher safe, however I have never put this truck in my dishwasher so I can't comment on how well that works.
Overall, these are great eco-conscious toys that are fun for kids, while also teaching them the importance of recycling.
Green Toys are just awesome. This one is no exception. In fact, I think this one is my favorite. (Our two-year-old likes the dump truck the best, and it has a similar look.)
Consistent with the design aesthetic of the other Green Toys, the plastic is smooth, the form is simple, and the product is sturdy. This line is made of recycled plastic - a great environmental ethic from this company, which also includes its simple, recycled packaging - and it's a sturdy, solid plastic.
There aren't a lot of different colors with these toys - this recycling truck is green and that's it! But that's part of their simple charm, too.
No metal, so no worries about rusting if this gets left outside, or played with in the bath or sink. Really easy to clean, too.
Over the last two years, we've bought most of the entire line of Green Toys (Amazon has some great sales) and have never been disappointed. These have become our go-to gift lately, too.

I have this and the pink dump truck. Nice trucks. Sturdy, light, nice-looking, good size. Nothing has malfunctioned, broken off or started squeaking.
Only con is that little kids who play with trucks would like to put their various small figures in the cab to drive the trucks. This would get 5 stars from me if they made that easy. The windows are pretty small and my kid gave up on that pretty quickly.
The recycling truck comes with maybe 6 squares to cut out which have simple images of recyclable items which fit in the slots. These will be easily lost or destroyed. But other items can and will be used. Crayons, or Shopkins, doll accessories, etc.

I just can't say enough about ALL of the Green Toys products and this garbage truck is no exception (it is actually my personal favorite). The quality of their products which come from recycled milk containers and recycled plastic bags is absolutely incredible! Green Toys offers the best of both worlds; a quality durable product with the advantages of a completely Eco-friendly product (yes, the packaging is Eco-friendly as well) AND a decent price! We currently have numerous Green Toys products which include the following; tea set, stove top, flying disc, gardening set, school bus, dump trucks, fire truck, tractor, seaplane, helicopter, ferry boat, and cement mixer! Our children are not easy on toys and Green Toys durability has surpassed other "name brand' products we have owned. Considering these toys are all produced from the recycled materials stated above, just makes these toys that much more amazing! On another note, Green Toys are made in USA!
It's a small little car, great for little hands. Green Toys are always a huge hit in my classroom with my preschool students. It is always a bonus when they include a character (this one does not). What I love about Green Toys in general and this car is no different is they can take a beating. The kids can play crash with them, they can play with them in the sensory table, they can play with them outside and they clean up nicely. I buy them every single time I see them on sale as the deal of the day here on Amazon or if I can be lucky enough to find at the Goodwill. We have at least 50 different vehicles, planes and boats from Green Toy at my small little preschool. We have this in the green and blue.
This is just a great, well thought out and designed toy. We have none of the complaints others have made about the trucks ability to role. It roles on our tile and rug floors with little effort. The cambered wheels are very nice as well for our large toddler who loves to try and step and stand on his cars and trucks. The slight camber provides some shock absorption and adds to the strength and durability of the vehicle.
Amazingly, Green Toys have ingeniously designed the truck entirely out of quality recycled plastic and no metal parts. Instead of the easily broken metal axels of most toys, the truck has very rugged and cleverly constructed plastic wheels and hubs that move well but are resistant to water and rust.
This line of toys has a 'cool' factor that one can only appreciate by seeing and holding them. All the kids in our house -- 18 month old to 13 years -- have taken to them. We cannot say enough good things about this line of toys.
We got this truck today and my son loves it! It’s bigger than I expected (compared to the Green Toys car hauler) but my 15 month old can pick it up and walk with it if he really wants to. Overall the truck seems solid, just like his other Green Toys vehicles, but the front wheels on this one are quite wobbly. I’m hoping we don’t have issues in the near future with the front wheels. It would be cool if it came with some items to put in the rear side openings that could be then dumped out the back end.
Cute great quality truck toy!!! Green Toys really makes good product! It’s very durable and entertains my son hours. Very satisfied for this purchase! I bought almost all the Green Toys toys for my son.
