Ateco 869 Pastry Tube - French Star - Size 9

Ateco 869 Pastry Tube - French Star - Size 9

This is my favorite tip BY FAR!! I took Wilton classes, and of course they don't mention this brand. It is PERFECT for what I like--just a quick but very pretty frost on my cupcakes. I found this on Amazon after watching YouTube videos of cake and cupcake decorating, but none of the videos I viewed specified where to get the "French star" tip, or what the brand was.

I think this would make beautiful and quick deviled eggs. :)

Be CERTAIN that you also order the Ateco large coupler #404, and the 18" bag to go with it, so that you don't get this in the mail and have to wait for the correct accessories before you get to the fun!

Only con: should've come with reading glasses, because when I was reading a new recipe, I didn't clearly read the amount of milk to put in my frosting, and while it seemed too much, I didn't look closer and my frosting was too thin. LOL!

If you are making pate choux or even cheese sticks let me tell you this is the perfect size tip. The dough comes out so easy and just the right size. It also works very well for the filling inside of eclairs!! and so cute! the french tip design is so much prettier than the open or closed star tips and they are usually just to small and you squeeze your fingers to the bone trying to get any kind of dough through the smaller star tips. I love this tip for making the eclairs themselves , the design is just wonderful. This is a very large tip opening so you wouldn't use it for little small things for sure, but is is the perfect size for mashed potatoes, and even filling deviled eggs. So hope you buy one as no kitchen is complete without this versatile size.I love it!!

I've used this primarily to pipe out eclairs and mini eclairs and I love it. The dough comes out easily and because of the size I don't have to keep squeezing until my hand is cramped to get it out. It's great, because it ensures that my eclairs won't have holes in them in the end because of the star shape. Easy to clean and easy to care. I've also used it to pipe out whipped cream cheese for tarts, and it's absolutely beautiful.

Whenever I use this tip, which is just so fun, people love it. They always are like "oh my gosh!!! How did you get that shape?". Because I'm awesome that's why!! ha, ha, no really this tip i great. It's fun to do a standard star shape, or to swirl it, or to twist it back and forth! Love this look and I would recommend to anyone decorating cakes or pies or cupcakes. Fun!!

Just as expected. I use it to pipe out spritzer cookies and get bakery quality looking results every time. Let them cool, dip them in chocolate then sprinkles and skip the bakery butter price tag that usually runs $15.99 a lb!

i can now see the difference with the Ateco brand. i’m a home baker, and started playing with non-branded piping tips. then tried this. just by feel of material there is a good difference between (as i hoped so). such a good tip, you can wow easily with it, and a must for beginners and amateurs like myself. my picture’s with an 8-in RV cake.. gonna try on cupcakes next time.

Good quality tip! It does a neat ridged edge with icing. It is hard to describe exactly what it looks like but its almost like a soft serve if it had more divots in it. Very pretty on cupcakes. It dispenses a lot of icing so you have to play with icing to see what will tastes and look best. It is very easy to use and clean!

Arrived intact with no dents or damage. This tip produces big poofs of whipped cream or buttercream for pies or the tops of cakes. I will be making a special cake soon that I plan on decorating beyond the usual spreaded frosting. This will give the cake that extra pizzaz!

My new fave decorating tip!

Love the large size for piping larger decorations on cakes and cupcakes, and for making meringues.
