This Compass seems well made and is everything that I remember when I was a Boy Scout many, many years back. It made me have to check out how to use the instrument again, but it came back really quick. Even with GPS and other electronics available, this unit will not fail me or anyone who purchases it. It is a nice, well made instrument and like a slide rule, it is as accurate as it can be. Eyeskey did a great job in finding this and putting it on the Market. I don't think that my reliance on GPS is as needed as it was before. Shipped promptly, efficiently, and intactly. Well Protected and packed ...A great reunion with a compass in about 40+ years. I love it.
When I took the compass back to base and gave it a field test out performed what I thought it was meant to handle.
Very well made, I am surprised at the bottom "peep" window to see the degrees. The "targeting" glass was clear and precise and the measurements are precise to the "T".
The customer service is outstanding, they kept making sure that I was pleased with my product through emails, and made sure there wasn't any item damage. It's one area to sell a product, its another area to tend to your customer's needs, I wish more retail stores were like this.
Thank you!
I like this product for my uses of camping and hiking. I bought the camo design. I find that it is well made and accurate. After exposure to light for a couple of minutes it will glow in the dark. I am able to read the compass up to about an hour after light exposure. The compass is made of metal (aluminum according to manufacturer). It is not a cheap, light weight kids toy. The face is easy to read. The compass comes with a nice case made of a strong fabric. It has all the features, that I can remember, of my compass issued by the Army. It’s a nice, well made product and I would recommend it to a friend
When ordering things you know nothing about and in the "men" category, you have no idea what to expect when they arrive. When this arrived, I was pleasantly surprised at how exceptional the quality was. It is durable, looks cool, and even made this girl want one for herself, and I don't even have use for one! My daughter's boyfriend really enjoyed receiving it as a gift from us and is enjoying it on his lengthy 20 mile hikes in the Montana Wilderness.
For the money this is a very good compass. It has a heavy duty housing that should hold up well on backpacking trips. It has features found on much more expensive instruments and is almost as accurate. I bought this as a "disposable" unit for bushwhacking and hiking over rough terrain in all kinds of weather, but it is surprisingly well made and I expect it to last much longer. It would also make a great entry level compass for someone just learning orienteering.

Description
Eyeskey Multifunctional Military Army Metal Sighting Compass Waterproof for Outdoor Activities Green
Solid Build.
Good Quality.
My only complaint (really a suggestion) is that I would have liked a quick snap on the belt loop so one can quickly attach it to ones belt without taking the belt off.
Magnetic North seems to line well enough.
Seems sensitive to metal which is a good sign. In fact this compass seems more sensitive then its more costly (it's only a few dollars more) oil-filled BigBrother. But that might be because of quality control variance. Some have complained that the Declination Needle gets stuck on the Big Brother model but all you need is to gently pull it out and then it will swing without any snag.
Overall it is a good value compass.
Though for a few dollars more maybe the Declination model is better (Oil-Filled).
That's how I wound up with this model first by error and then later ordered the BB model.
I liked this one so I kept both.
Purchased compass and noticed that it didn't have a thumb hole. Corresponded with Eyeskey directly regarding this issue. They made the necessary changes to the item description. This is a very honest and trustworthy company. I am very satisfied with the way I was treated. The compass is everything that it is advertised as and I am pleased. It is a good day when you receive the expeditious and courteous treatment from a honest company😀
This is not a compass for a beginner. While it has all the features of a full compass, it takes some experience to use it. And the instructions are, in my opinion, not very clear. They assume too much existing knowledge. The instructions for my 60-year-old Boy Scout compass are clearer and easier to follow. Any speaking of my Boy Scout compass, it weighs less than half that of this compass - almost half a pound (7.6 oz.). That's a lot of extra weight if you are taking a multi-day hike. And the case is not designed for Molle webbing. It has a loop on the back through which a belt could be passed, or maybe a strap from a backpack or bag.
I bought this compass because a buyer of another brand I was looking at said this brand was better. It'sd going to take some practice, and bertter instructions, for me to find out.
This is a very durable compass and should provide years of good use. It must weight 10-12 oz. It isn't one of the cheap plastic jobs.
I ordered this compass for a man tracking class. And I work in the woods and hunt.
Only two things I found that were negative. There was a bit of something in the suspension fluid when I looked through the little peep hole, but it more a passing distraction and wasn’t a huge problem. The second (and a little more serious), it was difficult to orient with the compass on a map. The top piece does not open all the way unless you push the loop that the string is tied to down. Then the compass doesn’t sit level.
The good stuff outweighs the two negatives. It glows in the dark if you charge it with a flashlight. If you shoot an azimuth and look through the peep hole, it also shows your back azimuth. Looking there also magnifies the tick marks making it easy to be very accurate. It has ‘sights’ that help to pinpoint a specific object to walk toward.
Altogether, a good compass for a good price.
