Product received, used for a period of time pretty good, with my computer is also very good, like! Give me a thumbs up!

Let's me add a USB input to my surface pro 3, as well as a standard SD card, since the surface only has a micro sd slot. The connecting cord is generally fine on a table or desk, but on some occasions I've wanted it to be a foot or so longer.

I was worried that this would not work with my 4TB harddrive. It works fine. The reviews said I needed to plug the device into a power source but it read my 4tb Harddrive with my laptop battery power only. Very happy so far with this product. I have a 2017 Macbook pro.

I've tried a variety of USB multi-port adapters, one from ECHTPOWER ( ECHTPower(TM) High Speed USB 3.0 Hub 3-Port with 10/100/1000M RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet Lan Wires Netword Adapter for iMac, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, PC and Laptops(Black), ) and another from INATECK ( [2-in-1] Inateck Unibody Aluminum 3 Ports USB 3.0 Hub with Driver-Free RJ45 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter Converter LAN Wired Network Adapter, Built-in 1ft USB 3.0 Cable ) and when they worked they worked well.

Problem was they didn't work all the time. if moved even just slightly, if the USB connector twists in one way or another, it would stop working. I've tried this on 4 different computers and experienced the same problem so as to eliminate that variable. Of the previous two, the Inateck proved more reliable even though the Echtpower felt like the better built. Regardless, they proved problematic enough to warrant my first bying a second and now a third USB port and this one from Maketech is the most solid performing one yet. It has 1 less usb port than the other two but my primary use for those would be my wireless moues and keyboard so no real problem there.

Other 3 port models will have their 3-3.0 usb ports plus one additional outlets which has been filled by either an Ethernet port or an SD card reader. This model has both though personally, I don't find much use for an SD card reader. Use of a proper cloud server tends to eliminate the need for such readers. A third USB port would give this a 5 star rating. Another feature I appreciated was the "L" shaped USB connector such that plugging it into your tablet, in my case a Surface Pro, will have the cord run straight down the side of the tablet rather than jut out and dangle loosely. Especially when I've found these other two versions mentioned above proved sensitive to the touch.

I have a Macbook Pro laptop that doesn’t have enough USB ports. I decided to get this MAKETECH Ultra Slim Hub with four USB 3.0 ports based on the positive reviews. The hub is small, slim, and lightweight, and quite portable overall, with dimensions of 3”L x 1.5”W x 0.33”D. When attached horizontally to the USB port of my laptop, it lies flush against the side of my laptop and is just about the same thickness. I like how there is an option of two colors as it matches and blends with the two most common laptop colors.

It’s convenient that no drivers are needed for the hub to work. The transfer speed is also decent. How the hub swivels around so it doesn’t block other ports on your laptop is also a nice feature.

However, I do think that this type of hub works best for those who keep their laptop mostly on a flat surface. I like keeping my laptop on my lap sometimes and the hub just hangs off quite awkwardly and gets in the way. I also think that this type of hub works more for laptops that have their ports located on the side of the keyboard. I don’t think this is the best hub to purchase if you have a Surface Pro or a tablet, although some reviewers don’t seem to mind it hanging off the screen.

I was looking for an ultra slim, lightweight, noncorded hub to expand the single usb port on my Lenovo yoga 720. I was excited to see, once I received the hub, that it fit those requirements perfectly. It even matches the aluminum on the laptop! All that being said, I've had it plugged in almost nonstop since receiving it, usually with a micro receiver, one and sometimes two printers, and an external hard drive. So far, it's performed admirably. Also, it rotates easily which came in handy when first lining it up how I wanted.

Wow! Below is my original review, but I've got to say I am blown away by the customer service I received. I didn't ask for it. I didn't expect it, but they sent me a replacement just like that. (It's only been a day, but so far so good on the new one.)
(Initial feedback) Worked great for the first few days, and then the front slot went out - just stopped working for no apparent reason (confirmed by plugging the device into one of the other slots). Also, not so much from a "consumer" standpoint, but from a "designer's" standpoint, I would have thought you'd want your logo to display on the top for all of the world to see. But, seeing as the USB port on my MacBook Pro is on the left, it - the logo - ends up being on the bottom side. (And I get to see your "Made in China", etc.) Further, all of the devices I plug into it, I have to flip the cord over so they display bottom-side-up as well. Truthfully, it's just a minor nuisance, but it does scream: "not well thought out". If not for these, with its slim design and the fact it hugs the side of my MacBook the way it does, it would have been an awesome product.

This product works great for my Surface Pro. I love the fact that this gives me the capability to "hard wire" a ethernet cord into my surface when I am in the office. This also allows for multiple USB ports allowing me to fully connect to a full size keyboard and mouse. The connection from the dock is USB not Surface data cable allowing for devices other than my surface to connect making it super easy to use my regular laptop or surface depending on my preference. I have had this for about two weeks now, no issue and works great.

I love the product. It is very portable and allows me to leave the docking brick and the docking station at home when I am on a business trip. The USB port I lose on the surface3 is gained back times 2. Also when using just the power brick I have the flexibility to use hard wired Ethernet connection. Using 1 USB port and getting 2 USB ports, an Ethernet connection, 2 SD slots, a place to hold my pen and a light is awesome. All and all this device is worth every penny I spent. I highly recommend this item.

This USB hub works very well. I bought it to replace a Sabrent Premium 4 Port Aluminum Mini USB 2.0 Rotatable Hub [90°/180° Degree Rotatable] (HB-UMMC) I bought last summer, which had begun to function eratically. So far, the MAKETECH one has been working fine. While it is not as compact as the one it is replacing, the build quality seems better (all aluminum case vs. plastic bits) and the larger size allows more space between transceivers, and helps it stay cooler.
