I have found it to be such a pain to expand a smaller hole to a bigger one. Step drills just make it so much easier w/o boogering up the hole. Now mine are pretty new and I have only used them 3 times., so I don't really know yet if they will hold up well. The description says "titanium coating", but really no way to know for sure. First drill out was a stainless steel washer that was right OD, but I needed a bigger hole. Made the cut with no problem. Did remove the gold "titanium coating" at the step up to the bigger hole, but didn't seem to damage the bit. Frankly a 5 bit set, with a counter punch for $24, in a really nice padded carry box is a good deal, even if they wear out faster. The Milwaukee 3/4" HS drill bit was $45 at Lowes for a one time use?
WORKS GREAT SINCE MY DRILL PRESS BROKE THEY ARE EASY TO USE WITHOUT NEEDING TLO FIND BIG DRILL BITS OR HOL SAWS.

They work great on 24 gauge steel exactly what we purchased them for.
There is nothing like having the proper tool!! I used these in my aluminum boat to cut perfect wiring holes it cut the 1/4" diamond plate aluminum like butter I see many more applications in the future.
Works greats...And for that price is a steal!!!!
I've tried a couple of the bits and they are working fine.
