I just got my PS4 and as with its predecessor and the Xbox 360, I decided to get a controller charger, somewhere I could just hang the controllers on and at the same time charge them for my next session.
After a bit of research I decided I will get this unit here. It arrived adequately packaged and there was no assembly required. The only downside to it was that it didn't come with its own charger, apparently that is the new trend, they just ship them with a USB cable and you should provide your own charger or cube or even connect it to the PlayStation. I used an old iPhone cube that I had laying around and it works fine for it, I imagine any USB charger would do the job.
It has a very nice looking indicator on the front that shows the status of the charging for each controller. If it’s green it means fully charged and red means still charging.
It’s pretty straight forward really.
Love it, so far I have no problem with it and would recommend it.
I've had this thing for months and it hasn't missed a beat yet. There's only been two issues and they're so minor that I simply don't care enough to rate it lower - especially since it's an excellent peripheral.
1. One of the seals came loose under the front screen. It didn't affect functionality and I just shook it a little to get it out of the way. It doesn't look bad now and no one else even noticed it. It wasn't anything important either because it didn't change anything.
2. It leaked a very small amount of liquid somehow. It was moist underneath when I moved it a month ago. I think it's a lubricant - whatever purpose that serves - because it never dried. I never saw where it came from or that it was leaking, it was just there after I moved it one day.
Anyway, this is an excellent addition. Those calling it crap should consider a Prime membership and try exchanging goods before rating down. I tried 3 keyboard attachments that didn't work before I reasoned the device was garbage. This charging dock, however, actually works, looks great while doing it, and works very well.
I have only had this for 2 weeks but this charger is great. It is so nice to be able to charge via the bottom of the controller than the top. We have two USB port charging stands and what it has ended up with is PS4 controllers with completely torn up and scratched areas around the USB ports from the children and even myself sometimes trying to line them up properly.
On this charger it is significantly easier to just line the controller up and gently slide the charger right into the holes. The only warning I would give people is when you remove the controller you are likely to try to pull it forward to take it off the dock, as that is how you remove them with the USB charging ones, but make sure not to do that, as that pulls directly against how they are plugged in. Instead lift up and away from yourself when removing them.
I had previously had two Power A chargers with the two previous PS4s I owned so this time around I wanted to try something new. This charger works as it should and the controllers are secure when charging. Since it doesn't grab the controllers like some other docks you don't risk scratching them.
The light overlay imo is really neat and as I see it a big selling point of this model but I didn't like how the charging lights matched up to the cradles (the top light is the first cradle, bottom is second) but it was an easy 5 minute fix with my basic soldering skills.
The usb charging cable is pretty short as their idea was for the user to make use of the PS4's usb port so plan on buying a longer one or using an extension cable if you're using wall power. Also, make sure to hold the unit while removing a controller as I said they're really secured on. There's actually two pieces of metal screwed inside it to make it heavier but as good of a job the rubber feet do to keep it in place I might add more weight just in case it gets knocked into.
Any negative I mentioned is more personal preference or situational so I didn't knock off any stars for them.
Easy to plug in controllers, charges them fine, doesn't take up too much room on TV stand. We've only had about a month but still works. Even if it ends up breaking for the price I will probably end up buying another. Not sure what else there is to say! The only confusing thing about this product is the lights on the front are 'backwards': when you plug in the back controller, the light on the panel that lights up is the bottom one...I find this odd, but no reason not to buy the product!!

I bought this charger based entirely on the great reviews. Those reviews are completely justified.
As I play a lot of multiplayer games, I bought two of the chargers. Both fit nicely on top of the PS 4 which minimizes the footprint.
While the charger only comes with USB cables instead of the standard electrical plugin, I was surprised to find that I didn't find this a struggle. I plugged both chargers into the front USB ports. If you use those front ports, you'll be better off buying a good quality USB charging block. This is a solution that I'm still contemplating as more and more devices require you to supply your own "wall wart".
The charger feels sturdy. The quality of construction exceeds the price point.
Controllers connect easily thought the bottom accessory port. I was dubious about how well that would work, but I found it works better than the micro USB port. I've noticed that the micro USB ports on the PS4 controllers tend to get loose over time. The accessory port works more like the Apple Lightning port, which I feel is a better design.
This is a simple and cheap but good quality product
I think there's something funny with the plug, as sometimes if you move if after you have put the ps4 in stand by our sleep or whatever the charger will turn off and not charge your controller while not in use.
But since that so minor and completely fixable, the awesomeness of it more than justifies the inconvenience.
1. It looks cool.
2. Only one wire to fight.
3. The stand holds the controller firmly, so i can set it on my leg and play with it while charging.
4. Tells you when the controller is fully charged.
It's worth it. If you're going to buy a new charging cable just buy this instead.
The standard micro sub on the ps4 controller is awful. This device makes it way easier to charge your controller and pretty much acts like a stand when not in use. HOWEVER, because the charger plugs into the headphone I feel like it has caused very minor damage to my controller. Because you will always be charging your controller it will wear out your headphone jack and if you use wired headsets like me the connection with your headphones will probably be loose. In the end it's a great buy and if you use wireless headsets anyway it's a must have.
Great charger, I had another charger but it used the micro USB connectors and it was always a chore trying to line up the connector. This one is a much more straight forward connector and it uses a little post the inserts into the headphone jack to further help alignment.
I like that there is an indicator showing when the controller is charging vs charged. For the price I couldn't really ask for more.
THE GOOD: Easy to set up, Low profile. The charger uses the ports on the bottom of the controller to charge and the controllers fit in the charging slot very snug. No chance of the controller falling out or not charging. Uses USB to charge so if you are like me and only puts their PS4 to sleep, you can just plug it into the front of the PS4 and it will always be charged!
THE BAD: Nothing. It charges. End of story haha
OVERALL: GREAT buy for a PS4 owner. Great price. Works perfectly, completely as advertised.
