The key benefit is to reduce the use of those plastic bags for produce and loose grains and nuts. However, not all the check-out staff are familiar with the tare weight process. This adds some time, but we must persevere to reduce the plastic in the world.
I was tired of using the plastic bags at the store and tired of the store being out of the plastic storage bags. I finally decided to try some produce bags. I keep the produce bags with all of my reusable bags in the car. I not only use these to place my produce in the store but when I get home I place the produce in the fridge or basket in the bags. It keeps the onion skins from getting all over the basket. They come in 3 sizes and have had no problems fitting all kinds of produce. They are lightwate and the Tare Weight is right on each bag for the checker to see. They are light weight and easy to store. I will most likely buy more since I am using them for storage too.
The bags are lightweight, easy to clean in the wash, strong enough to hold heavier produce and transparent enough you can easily see what produce is inside. I would highly recommend.
These are fairly durable. Not sure how they will hold up over the long run. I could see them getting holes or rips from stems. Love that they are compostible when they do wear out.

The tags have the tare weight on them and I questioned how accurate it was, but I verified the weight on a scale and it’s accurate

I have used these for å few shopping trips now, and my overall impression is great! They are easy to use, lightweight and seem to be durable. The sizes are perfect for my bi-weekly shopping trips.
I like that the bags were made of organic cotton. I have used bags before that were more mesh-like and not as breathable, so I was pleasantly surprised in the quality! I used them today at the grocery store and the different sizes came in handy. I think I could even use these bags for doing my laundry! Yayy, win win.
Better for the environment than using the plastic bags at the store. Very easy to use and wash!
After researched several different options and reading the reviews here, I picked these bags under the assumption that the bags are transparent enough for a cashier to see what's inside. This is not even remotely true. A cashier would have to take the contents out of each bag to see what's inside. The bags are good quality, but if transparency is something you are looking for, they're not a good buy.
