Trying these out. Seem to work ok, not real bright and the main unit only held in place by one long bolt down the center and a nut on the end (Most of these lights have a plate you install first, this does not.) This is okay for me since I put these onto gutters. I drilled a hole for each then I can obviously put the nut on with some gutter seal but you may have issues if you are not able to get to the 'other side' of where you are installing, such as a wall or an eve. If you cannot you are going to have to find one long ass skinny screw to attach to a wall or board.
I was shockingly impressed with the quality of this solar light !!! I was willing to take a chance based on its price range just to have a little more light between my shop and truck where our outside lights just didnt quite cut it and WOW !!! So easy to install and has worked fantastically. I will definitely be purchasing another for the backside of the shop ! A MUST BUY !!!
This was a great purchase! Installation was so easy, one screw for the light right into the siding of the house. There are 4 screws for the solar panel, but I was lucky enough to have something I could just lay it on, so I wasn't required to use the additional screws. If you purchase this, please be mindful that in the instruction booklet it stated to leave the light off for 3 days after installation for it to get a full charge. I tried it for the first time last night after the 3 days and it works perfect! The 3 different sensitivity levels are extremely convenient and it has a manual override if you need to keep it on continuously while entertaining. The amount of light is provides is surprising, literally lights up the entire backyard! Highly recommend this product for anyone who is looking for a outdoor solar flood/security light!!!!
Purchased the solar version of this light and it has worked out great. I have security cameras around our home and was not happy with the night vision as it doesn't come close to capturing the true image vs. color. I purchased this light as a means to 'fake' our cameras to think it is day time so we can capture color images at night; not to mention we also wanted to have motion sensing lights to deter would be thieves, etc.
So far, this has worked like a charm. When motion is detected, the lights come on, and in a few seconds our camera switches from night vision to colored images. It's definitely bright enough to trigger the cameras to switch. I haven't had a chance to test this out when it rains so I do not know if the claim of 'rain won't trigger' is accurate.
But, I am happy with current results. So much that I bought two more to light up other dark areas around our home. Keep in mind that the unit is made of ABS plastic (I believe the hard wired version is aluminum). Although it feels super light weight (which can give the sense of being cheaply made) it has thus far performs as advertised. And, given the one screw installation, you want it to be as light weight as possible. As I am typing this review, I am considering purchased two more!
I bought two of these lights based off of the reviews and the separate solar panel. I’ve hung several similar lights that have an integral panel, but those locations all faced south or southwest. Having the separate panel allowed me to mount this light facing north, while allowing my panel to be mounted in a southwestern directed. Works great for light at the north gate!

3 Convenient Operational Modes

Husband was able to quickly install this light under eave of house without issue. This light is very bright and love that it is solar and motion-detector. We use it for safety feature on side of house that is rarely used, but has a storage shed. Since it can be used to shine on both shed and path leading to shed is a plus especially if you have outside cameras. Can buy similar item at warehouse store, but they are often sold out. This version is every bit as reliable. Highly recommend for sense of security.
Great flood. I am using it to light up the American flag in my front yard. The rain came the day after I installed the light and it poured, but the light worked like a charm. My old lights have been burning out in the rain.
Got this to light up the interior of a 20x20 shed. Works perfectly as the motion detector is set where it turns on when I walk in the door. It is bright (3rd photo is taken at night with light on).
Well Built Light....I bought the 100 W Light like this light to use as an extra light on my deck, I have an 18 year old dog with congestive heart failure and I need to be able to watch him at all times as he walks around my backyard. The 100 Watt has an on and off switch, but I use the Woods Outdoor remote to turn it off and on. I like that light so much I bought this 20 Watt light just to have on hand, it will be great in my garage when the bulb blows in the overhead garage control unit. ( When that light bulb blows I have to call someone to change it ) The 20 Watt doesn't have the on and off switch like 100 Watt ( I knew when I ordered) but I will use it with a Woods Outdoor remote in my garage anyway so that's OK. This 20 Watt light will also be great to use with a timer inside my house if I want my house to look like someone is home or just want a light on when I will be getting home late. It looks much safer than leaving a lamp with a lamp shade on a timer.
I placed the light in the front of my house and it covers my whole front yard when activated. Lights become activated a good 20 feet or more where my driveway and the street meet. Have not had any problem with it charging even in dim or cloudy skies. I plan to purchase another for the southern side of my home once I find where it will get enough daylight in that I have a fence row of giant trees.
