If you're looking for understated classic elegance, this dinnerware set is perfect. The pieces are all well made (in the USA) and are very sturdy. If one does happen to break Lenox does have a replacement guarantee (although you do have to pay for some of it. If I recall correctly it's 50 percent of the piece price). The dinner plates are nice, traditional, and generous in size. I love the bowls. They are both wide and deep (usually you have to pick either wide or deep when it comes to bowls). The bowls are probably one of the things I like the most about this set. They have the classy yet understated look with the shape that I want and hold 18 ounces. Perfect for breakfast cereal, salads, or soup. When it comes to dinnerware it's hard to tell the difference between one set and another just by looking at an online picture. If you hold a piece of this set and a piece of a cheaper, discount brand set you can definitely tell the difference. These are worth every penny and you don't find this quality in your local discount big box stores. We are using it as everyday dinnerware (and are ordering another set as we have a large family so need service for 8. However, it's not because the set isn't good enough for my dinner parties. It definitely something I'd be happy to present. It's the fact that I like this set so much I want to use it daily and not just on special occasions. My husband, who isn't really into dinnerware, even complimented the quality when he was helping me wash them to put them in the china cabinet. Highly recommend if you are looking for a high-quality everyday set or even a set reserved for dinner parties.
Simple and elegant. Lightweight but resistant.
For me, the value of any dish, isn't the ridges or paint job or even the weight. It's how functional & solid the pieces are. Classic White has enough heft to be sturdy, but not so heavy a senior citizen would struggle to lift them. The plates have wide enough rim to comfortably hold & look attractive, without being so deeply angled that your food is pushed together. That. Drives. Me. Nuts. The bowls are both deep and wide, no wasted space or weight on large rims, takes up less space than wider bowls & is less likely to spill over.
Often times "Nice set of dishes" suggests a fancy product suitable for only fancy dinners. Once again, 'nice' doesn't mean fancy for me. The plain white and simple design makes these dishes suitable for lunches and casual meals. Flexibility is what contributes to its value. Lenox's replacement plan backs it up.
If you're looking for 'chandeliers in the window' and gold trim, you're in the wrong place. If you seek well-made, flexible, functional, attractive dishes, you've found them.

These are very classic plates. They are lightweight, yet sturdy with a nice sheen and they made it fine through the dishwasher and the microwave. Because they are thin, heat is conducted from the food to the plate in the microwave, which is more an issue for the bowls than the plates (as you can grasp them on the edge)
I will note that the large plate has a pretty wide rim, you should take this into account as it does reduce the area inside the depression part of the plate for food. You can, however, have food along the edge as the slope is not severe (except things like peas, those rolled “downhill”).
The bowls are very nice and usable. 18oz is a nice size, and the shape makes them good cereal and soup bowls.
The fact that they are thin also means you can stack a lot of them in a small space. They nest too (see photo for nesting and scale)
They come packed very, very well. I doubt nuclear waste is shipped this securely.
I think the replacement option deserves an explanation, as it is not a simple free replacement if you drop a plate.

My husband got this dinnerware for me, so I am reviewing for him. I LOVE this set of dinnerware!!! I have another set of white dishes from Crate and Barrel and decided to try the Lenox and compare. In my opinion, the Lenox is far better quality than the Crate and Barrel dinnerware. The whites are slightly off (Crate and Barrel is almost a blue-toned white and the Lenox is more of a warmer white). They are very close though and I will use them together if needed. I really love this set because they feel very sturdy, well-made and I love the size/shape of the bowls (Crate and Barrel set has a flatter, more elegant bowl but not nearly as practical). From now on, I'll be using these as our everyday dishes over my Crate and Barrel set. LOVE them - should probably get another set or two!

This set of Lenox White China is perfectly lovely. The set consists of 16 white, plain pieces, very sturdy and well made in the USA. The set comes packed very carefully, thus ensuring almost no chance of breakage during shipping.

I LOVE an all white dish and these Lenox pieces are just a beautiful white in a very classic and classy design. I -really- like the wide lip on them and I love that the bowl is a regular bowl...not just a half cup indentation in a plate! Those are beautiful in a high end restaurant but at home I want a useable bowl. I have no issue whatsoever that there is no cup and saucer/mug in this set...i have other dish sets that have them and I NEVER use them, if you do then you now have a reason to shop for a set of lovely cups and saucers or mugs. The number one thing that I LOVE about these fabulous looking china dishes is that they are made in the U.S.A!!
This certainly isn’t inexpensive dinnerware. But it’s Lenox, and the quality is readily apparent.
Each piece is sturdy to the point of being robust, and will certainly last for many years of normal use. The finish is reminiscent of their decorative statuary, a nicely glossy ceramic sheen. It’s microwaveable and dishwasher safe.
The design is classic simplicity personified: plain white, with a raised edge border area around the plate rims to keep the food in place. This dinnerware will be suitable for virtually any décor.
This is the good stuff.
These are gorgeous, white china. It may look plain, but you can tell the quality when you hold it. It feels solid and the details, from the shape to the surface finish, is quite beautiful. I was nervous about the shipping but the set came really well packed. Each item individually wrapped, then sets of plates are boxed inside a bigger box. I only wish the dinner plate had a bit more curve to it instead of being very flat. Otherwise, there's not many negatives I can find on this set.
