What an amazing desk is the G Pack Pro !!!
Received it 3 days ago and had it up and ready for use within 6 minutes – thereof 2-3 minutes to dispose the packaging material.
I have been using the desk in its various positions the past 3 days, super easy to use and what a pleasure to finally have a desk that allows me to sit or stand! More surprising was that I ended each of these days without my regular evening back pain.
The standing desk is large; 37" long so I can put two monitors ++ on it. Moreover it is very conveniently wide (24") and rises and declines on the same foot print which provided me a surprisingly lots of space within my limited space.
Great design and great value for money. My bottom line: highly recommended.
This Standing Desk Converter is amazing! I had a separate stand-up desk but found it so inconvenient to keep moving my monitors, laptop, cords and keyboard from one place to another. This converter worked perfectly in that I'm able to place it right on top of my desk and either use it as a platform for my monitors when I'm sitting down or I can use the lever to stand up when I feel like it.
Pros:
- It arrived in the expected time and was as advertised on the website.
- It was very easy to set up.
- The 37” work surface is wide enough for my two 17” monitors and 13” MacPro
- The keyboard tray is also wide enough for a full keyboard, the mouse and my calculator
- The gas spring works very smoothly and can be easily adjusted
- The quality is great and worth the price
Cons:
- In the collapsed state, the workspace sits up about 5.5 inches, which puts my monitors up a little higher than I’d like. I find myself cranking my neck up when I sit.
Helpful hints:
- The desk is pretty heavy so you may need someone to help you put it on your desk.
- Purchase an anti-fatigue mat with this! This will help your feet when you’re standing up. I purchased the Sorbus Anti-Fatigue mat with this and it is working well so far.
- Per the 2nd picture, if you have a pull-out keyboard tray on your desk, a wireless keyboard and mouse makes it easy for you to move it back and forth between the sitting and standing position. Not to mention, it’s so much better ergonomically to have a keyboard tray when you’re sitting!
Sit to stand desk converters seem to be all the rage these days. I had made my own standing desk years ago out of various materials cobbled together but none of them were great. As I get older and now telecommute most of the days of the week, sitting for hours really starts to hurt. Even if you get up and stretch and walk around every little bit, sometimes if you have a very desk or computer oriented job, you will need to remain productive and focused.
After researching sit to stand desk converters specifically for tall people -- as I am over 6-feet -- I knew what to look for. While additional ergonomic features such as an adjustable keyboard tray may be to your liking, as long as I have the angles of things right, I'm okay without them. The keyboard platform for this desk converter is huge. It's tempting to rest on it.
It only took about 30 minutes from unboxing to turning computer back on to be finished and I assembled it myself. It is a touch heavy and bulky so if you have any concerns about lifting larger things, get help. It was packed in the box very securely and really the only difficult thing was cutting the plastic tie-down cords.
Adjusting it up and down is super easy and the grips help. I'm currently using it with it extended all the way up with a single 27-inch widescreen LCD monitor and a couple external speakers and am not concerned with it falling over or anything. I use a mechanical keyboard which tends to make a bit more motion but nothing is really jiggly on the monitor.
From past experience with standing for work, I did buy an anti-fatigue mat and would recommend the same.
This is perfect! I love it! I have been cursed with back problems for long time. My chiropractor suggested this. I went on line and did my homework and found the perfect desk! I am 6'5" and I wanted something that would work where I wouldn't be hunched over. This is it! Very well made just had to add keyboard shelf-easy. G Pack Pro was the best for my situation and I am glad I bought it. Also, the price was the best! Thanks G Pack Pro!
I purchased this standing desk to use in my office at work. I am an accountant, and wanted to make sure there was room for a 10-key (yes I am old school). I also wanted a desk large enough to accommodate papers and allow me to write on them. This desk does it all. It is very stable. Depending on how hard I am typing, there can be a slight jiggle in the monitors - nothing I would complain about though. It is easy to move up and down, and setup was a breeze. I highly recommend this standing desk.
After seeing this in my office and testing it, one of the owners of the company I work for has already purchased one for his office.

I work from home and I use a 32 inch tv for my main monitor. This sat directly on the desk and my neck would continuously hurt. I also noticed I was standing to do some typing because I was tired of sitting 12-14 hours.
This solved both problems.
While the item is at its low point it is just the right height for me to look at my screen without looking down. I can also adjust to any height I want with the ease of a lever.
My husband put this together in a matter of minutes and we were originally worried because I have a glass top desk but it works just fine. I do have a second screen that I angle up whenever I am standing and I am totally fine with that. I may purchase a smaller adjustable base for that one should I feel the need for it.
The only bad thing about this is I waited entirely too long to purchase one! I should have done this a year ago. I have nothing negative to say about this item as I have only been using it for a couple weeks now.
I bought this after the company I work for began allowing managers to telecommute a few days a week. In the past when I've worked from home, by the end of the day my back and neck are sore (no proper office chair at home, so I sit hunched over the coffee table).
This standing desk has been a godsend! Set up was easy. The unit fits perfectly on top of my coffee table. The "hydraulic" lift works smoothly to raise the desk to the perfect height for me. (I'm on the short side.) I wind up standing more than sitting throughout the day.
Definitely a GREAT purchase!
It was easy enough to put together. You have to screw the keyboard tray to the brackets with the provided screws. It is easy to operate and the lift assist cylinder is smooth. Probably not so good if you are putting a big heavy monitor on it. Works well for my 22 In thin screen monitor and laptop, almost too big.. Before spending twice as much for a Varidesk or much less for "CHEAP-O" brand, this is a reasonably affordable option. The table space is plenty large enough for 2 24 inch monitors.
Pretty nice desk, decent quality, good price and looks good.
The reasons for 4 (almost 3) stars:
I'm 6' 5" and if I really want to have the monitor in the correct ergonomic position - I have to put a stand under my monitor (on top of the desk) to have it at the correct level - this is an issue when you want to use it in the sitting position (it's way too high when sitting). I guess I'll have to invest in a adjustable monitor arm.
I've had the desk for two weeks and have had it slip to the next lower setting two or three times. Maybe I'm applying too much pressure with my hands? I certainly have a heavy monitor (plus the extra stand to lift the monitor...). I've since added a bracing bar to prevent a catastrophe.
Finally, I wish it had an adjustable keyboard tray.
The desk came pre-assembled (just had to attach the keyboard which was super easy). I practiced lifting and lowering it prior to putting anything on top of it to make sure it worked. It seemed fine. When I put my monitors on it (I have two 24 inch monitors that weigh about 20lbs total), it just crashed back down. The max capacity was supposed to be 33lbs, but I thought maybe my monitors were just too heavy. I took them off, and tried putting just the slightest amount of pressure on it (pushing down), and it collapsed. There's clearly something wrong with the mechanism. I had my staff assistant look at it, and he tried to tighten the lift handle (he thought maybe it wasn't staying up because the handle was loose), but that didn't help at all. I'm planning to return it, and it's very disappointing. I see that one other reviewer had this same problem, but it was only one of a few so I thought I would give it a try anyway because MOST of the reviews were good and the price was fantastic.
***Update - I replied to the seller's email (the one that I got when I purchased the desk) saying that I planned to return it. They replied almost immediately and said they were sending me a replacement (actually a better model) and that I would receive it within 3-5 days. They also said that I did not need to mess with returning the defective one and could just dispose of it. In light of this, I would absolutely make this purchase again. Even though the original desk was defective (seems to be kind of a fluke), their above and beyond customer service more than made up for it.
