So up today we have the Live and Sleep Resort Ultra 12-Inch Queen Size. This item is hands down the best bang for the buck foam mattress you can find on Amazon. I rarely give any item 5 stars but 6 months after owning this item it still is a 5 star product. I was looking for a new bed and I knew I wanted a foam mattress, no box springs, and I wanted about a medium comfort setting. I went and posted up on a bunch of Tempur-pedic beds and I decided the medium setting is the one for me. And while the TP beds are awesome, the one that I wanted was $6,000 dollars. So, after about a solid month of searching, I decided to roll the dice and purchase this bed. And as I said, 6 months later and I am still loving it. It showed up, all 60lbs and all, and after I cut it open I put it in place in my bed frame and washed the top layer comforter in some light bleach. There was virtually no smell (which I read was a big concern for people) but I did let it air out in an open windowed room for at least 12 hours before I slept on it. It took about 24 hours for it to fully inflate but once it did I put the top layer back on, some new sheets, and crashed on it. Now, here is the funny part. I read from other reviewers that it took a few nights to get used to it and that their body hurt for a few nights and for me... this was absolutely true. I had incredible back pain for the first 3 days after I slept on this thing and all I could think about was what a f***** waste of money this was. Then, on the 4th night, I slept like a log and woke up feeling completely refreshed. Since then, no back pain at all and I get great sleeps. No joke, for the first 2 months after I bought this, every night when I was about to go to sleep I genuinely got excited about getting in bed. My girlfriend loves this bed as well! I rotate the mattress once a month and it has never deformed or broken down. The bed is a perfect blend of support and softness and it hasn't faded or become lumpy at all. I put this in an Ikea bed frame and I paid extra for the upgrade lattice support. You want to put this mattress on a firm support (like the ground) and if you have slats that are too spaced out the bed will sink into it. Make sure you get a solid base to put this mattress on, trust me it's worth it! The ONLY downside to this bed is that the corners are rounded. It's not a big deal, but it just means that it doesn't fit snug in my rectangular ass bed frame.
The pros: Amazing comfort, incredible price, no odor, and it was delivered in a box to my front door! What more can you ask for?!?!?
The cons: The mattress has rounded corners which does not fit flush in my rectangular bed frame.
The overall: This mattress is perfect (for me) and I love the combination of plushness and support. If it lasts even 3 years then it's totally worth the money because for $500 you can just go buy a new one. I WOULD DEFINITELY buy this product again!

I'm not a great reviewer, so I ask for your generous consideration at how I tend to write what comes into my mind just as it reveals itself!
I'm a senior citizen dealing with the body pains of Post Polio Syndrome ergo a good night sleep is essential to my life...although I remember vividly how important my sleep was to me during the years of raising four high energy children.
I had been sleeping on an expensive pillow top, but the last year I dreaded"waking" up in the morning as it felt as if I'd been awake too much for the sleep our bodies must have to feel optimal health for each day.
Of course I waded through many local mattress stores...No way!! I knew a thousand dollars plus was not the answer for a good night's sleep..all hype!! Then I started the search on Amazon...review after review, researching the various materials, the offers of each company if I wasn't satisfied....everything!
All the above work lead me to the Resort Mattress...I bought the twelve inch queen, it was delivered promptly, it was easy to "install" (we were lucky to have a bed waiting for my old mattress) , it was fully inflated within six hours, there was only a slight smell of material, lasted , maybe ten hours.
I expected my sleep to be a tiny bit disrupted...NOT SO! I swear , for the first night in years I slept straight through, taking one senior bathroom break, but another anomaly, I fell back to sleep immediately....this had never happened before. Slept till I smelled the coffee ....now, the best part, due to my PPS I usually got out of bed aching...no aches!! Do you feel me?
Lastly, I want you to consider the value of this mattress..amazing! It is not hard ..it is firm. It is not hot nor cool...it feels perfect!

I was EXTREMELY skeptical about buying a mattress online. My first mattress was a full-sized Tempurpedic from about six years ago, the "best money could buy". I thought, this must be as good as it could possibly gets. Who would want to buy a mattress online? I turned up my nose at the thought. There is just no way some internet mattress could be better than a Tempurpedic. I mean, it comes in a box! How could it possibly still be firm after it finishes expanding?
We said "screw the online mattress", and went to the mattress store to look around for a King sized. Everything was SEVERELY overpriced. We're talking $1800 after salesman discounts for the cheapest king we could possibly find. Most low-to-mid range mattresses were closer to $2500, we could seriously buy 5 or 10 mattresses online at these prices! The numbers just didn't make any sense.
Of course, as we tried to leave the store, the salesman kept trying and trying to keep us there, pushing harder and harder, and trying to throw in more and more discounts, all of which could never come anywhere close to the online prices.
After that experience, we decided to give the online mattress a chance. I mean, comparatively, it was really cheap, and if we didn't like it, we could still return it.
Holy cow, I am so glad I did. I absolutely LOVE this mattress, it is AMAZING. We gave it 2 days to settle out and expand, but it was honestly ready after 2 hours. There was no chemical smell at all. It is firm, just as it should be. It doesn't sag, or sink, or dip. It legitimately makes me angry that mattress stores have been gouging so many people for so many years, when these kinds of quality products exist online.
Anyway. Long story short, if you're uncertain about buying a mattress online, you have got to put that aside and give this a chance. It will save you a whole ton of money, and the mattress you get is going to be awesome.
I purchased this mattress as a gift for my mom, and she loves it! It came rolled up in a box that was manageable for one person, but best lifted by two people to make it easy. The mattress was given 3 days to inflate while we awaited a new bed platform, and she's had it for about a month now. It was important that I find her a mattress that was both firm, yet still soft, which was harder to find than I initially imagined. After scouring the web, visiting mattress stores and reading several dozen reviews, I figured I'd give this company a shot since their description of this mattress on their site, fit my needs exactly.
Well she absolutely adores the mattress and says she hasn't slept this comfortable in years. I tried all of the tempurpedic cloud mattresses for $2K and up, and this mattress from Resort Sleep is definitely comparable. I was waiting for a couple weeks to pass before reviewing this, and now that they have and she still loves the mattress, I'm going to order one for myself. I hardly review things, but I'm completely happy with this purchase (as is my mom) and want people to know they're making a smart financial investment in getting this mattress at such a low price for all the comfort it offers.
Review after two months:
My opinion of this mattress keeps changing, so I thought I'd post another review. My initial review was over-the-top awesome. We replaced our lumpy coil mattress with this one, and initially, I thought it was the perfect mattress - it was comfy, not too firm, not too soft. After a week or two, I decided it was too firm and purchased a 2-inch gel foam topper. Bad idea! My husband and I both started waking up with sore backs, so the topper came off. I think that was just the adjustment period switching from a coil mattress to a memory foam.
Another couple of weeks went by, and then my back starting aching again. I'd wake up stiff as a board, and my lower back was so sore I could hardly stand. We went away for a few days, and my back pain disappeared when I slept in the hotel. I decided it had to be our new mattress. The reason I'm writing all of this is that I agonized over which memory foam mattress to buy, and I decided on a "medium" firmness. My husband and I are both side sleepers and weigh average weights - I'm 125, he's 190. What I ended up doing was flipping the mattress over so the soft gel side (i.e. the top) was on the bottom, and the dense foam that's supposed to be on the bottom is what we sleep on. It was a royal pain to take this 90 pound king mattress off the bed, take the zipper cover off, flip it over and put the cover back on, but I'm now sleeping well and am free of back pain.
BOTTOM LINE: memory foam mattresses take time to get used to, they soften up over the first couple of months as you break them in, and I'd recommend a more firm mattress for side sleepers or anyone purchasing the mattress to eliminate back pain. That said, this is a high quality mattress, and my complaints are all on me, not the mattress company. It was delivered quickly, it fully expanded within just a few hours, the cover is super soft and comfy (and washable), and the gel foam top layer does keep you cool. I hope this is helpful to others.

I gave it a month before reviewing this mattress to see how I liked it and how it held up so I could give it a fair review. I received it about a week after purchasing - talk about anticipation! The box was a lot smaller than what I expected but that worked out great since I had to have it shipped to my work because I needed to sign for it. The box was small enough to fit across the back seat of my car! Who would ever think you could fit a California King mattress in the back of your car?!? I read reviews before purchasing so that I knew what I was getting into buying a "mattress-in-a-box" online and what to expect when opening it. Most people said it took about an hour to re-inflate and not the whole day like the manufacturer said. I would HIGHLY recommend opening it on the frame/boxspring to make your life a little easier. This thing re-inflated almost immediately! We opened it around 6pm and slept on it that night. It did have a TINY bit of the typical memory foam smell but nowhere near as bad as the mattress toppers I have bought in the past. The cover is already on it when you open it up which is GREAT! The cover looks fantastic and is of great quality. It looks like a really expensive mattress and the cover is one of my favorite parts! You don't need a boxspring if you have a platform bed which is fantastic since you can get a taller platform and use the extra space underneath that would've been a boxspring for extra storage - SCORE!! As I said, I gave it about a month of daily sleeping on it so that my back could adjust from the crappy stiff mattress we had with a memory foam topper. I like a softer bed (if it were possible to sleep on clouds, I would) and my SO likes a very firm bed (he'd sleep on the floor every night if he could). That being said, this mattress is a PERFECT middle ground for both of us! I thought when I first laid on it, that it was going to be too firm for me and didn't have high hopes of getting a good night sleep. I then noticed that I was sinking in at all the right pressure points but still super supported where I needed it. That's when I thought "hey, maybe this won't be so bad after all!" I used my fitness band to help track my sleep in the transition from the old bed to this one. I'm actually really amazed at the results! I'm a "toss & turner" by nature - always have been, always will be. I went from being restless over 40 times a night for about 1 1/2 hours total throughout the night to somewhere around 25 times for about 35 minutes. I'm so glad I used my band to confirm how I am physically feeling from finally getting better sleep! My boyfriend's snoring literally almost stopped on the first night too! He went from sounding like a train coming through our bedroom to a small child snoring! I could tell just by how he was sleeping when I woke up in the morning that he was finally sleeping well. We both sleep much better and even with less time sleeping, we still wake up rested and ready to start the day. We also co-sleep with our 17 month old son half of the time and I was a little weary because I felt like he sunk into the old memory foam topper too much - this one, he hardly sinks in at all and it's perfect because babies need a firm mattress and I don't have to worry about his face sinking down into it. The first few nights using it, I could feel where I had been sleeping (kind of like a dip where it had gotten softer) but just slept in the middle of the bed one night and it's all broken in now because no one spot feels different from another. There are no dips, soft spots, lumps, bumps, or anything wrong with this mattress from the last month's use - it's holding up great! I think the best part of this mattress is that I can get up in the morning and not wake my son or SO because there is no transfer of motion! You know, the commercial on tv where they put the glass of wine on one side of the mattress and jump on the other? Of course you do! I didn't exactly set a glass of wine on my bed and jump up and down, but if you have kids that wake easily, you KNOW how hard it is to sneak out of bed without waking them! If you're on the fence about buying a mattress online because you've never had the chance to lay on, I'd say don't hesitate. Besides, when you go to the store and lay on one, A: you know you lay flat on your back to try it out (and chances are you don't actually sleep like that) and B: what might feel comfortable to you laying on it for a minute and a half (let's be real, you don't lay on it until you fall asleep) might not feel so great to sleep on once you get it home and try to fall asleep. This is less than half the price of the fancy memory foam beds in the mattress stores and worth double! It's seriously like sleeping on a fancy hotel bed every night! It also comes with a free memory foam pillow! It would be great if it came with two so that both sides could have the same pillow, but hey, it's free so I'm not complaining. The pillow is a little stiff for my taste but by no means uncomfortable. I like a thinner pillow and this one aaaalmost meets the mark. It is a great quality pillow - I use it under my knees when relaxing which is great because it doesn't just squish down like typical pillows. I did received this mattress at a discount in exchange for my honest review and honestly, being a pricier item, I probably tried to critique this mattress a lot harder than I normally would any other item but I have not one bad thing to say about it! Great product from a small business that I'm happy to support and the communication from Resort Sleep is fantastic and even emailed me to check up on how I liked their product (Thanks, Dan!) within the first week of getting it. A+ on the customer service! When we need to replace another mattress, we will definitely be buying another one of these, yes, even at full price!
UPDATE: It's been quite a while since I bought this mattress and I still believe this is one of THE BEST investments I've ever made!! It's withstood a TON of use and still sleeps like it did on day one! Sleep Resort has truly put out a fantastic product and when our son moves into a "big boy bed" he will be getting one of these (not a Cali-king because what 2 year old needs a bed that big haha) and I KNOW he will get a good night's sleep on this! Without a doubt, this is the most comfortable night's sleep I've ever had. It's still like I'm sleeping at a fancy hotel every night and I couldn't be more impressed! The cover even unzips so that you can wash just the top (toddlers... Ugh) and zips right back on! Super convenient! Thanks again Sleep Resort for the fantastic mattress!
I love my new mattress! I slept through the night without pain for the first time in several years!!! I researched for 6 months and finally decided on this mattress. My husband and I sleep intertwined so I needed one firm enough to handle our combined weight in the middle (it is rated for larger people). I am a side sleeper so I also needed something soft enough to cushion the pressure points on my shoulders and hips. This mattress is firm enough to hold my spine in the proper alignment (for side sleeping) yet soft enough to cradle my hips and shoulders. I tend to like softer mattresses so I was worried I couldn't find what we needed. However this mattress seems perfect so far. It expanded to 11.5 inches in less than an hour. The cover is soft, nicely quilted and seems sturdy. I expected to have to air it out for a while but neither my husband nor I noticed any negative smell. We slept on it the first night. We have now slept on it for 5 nights without pain. I have RA and my husband has trouble with his shoulders so we were used to waking up several times a night. I am hopeful it will hold up well as it has a 20 year warranty.
499 bucks beats the living heck out of spending 3-5 grand. Who in the heck spends 5 grand on a single mattress anyways (the average overall cost to build a mattress is 350 dollars), I think you need to get your head examined and/or a professional financial adviser if you are willing to spend thousands on a mattress! Seriously, this mattress is more comfortable than anything we had tried out in the high-gross profit mattress stores. I was looking to replace 2 mattresses in my house (possibly 3 if the money was right), so after a few quotes on just 2 memory foam mattresses ranging from from a total of 2200-4500, I decided it was time to try another avenue and look online. To my satisfaction, good ole Amazon came through with several options on memory foam mattresses with tons of information, reviews and Q & A to sift through. Due to the high ratings, buyer's feedback and price-point we decided to go with the Live and Sleep brand. The ultra is not too firm and not too soft, it's juuuuuuust right. Very high quality materials are used to build this mattress. I also bought the live and sleep 10 inch full size for my daughter and her mattress is also very nice and super comfortable. I just ordered another one for our guest bedroom, that one in a 10 inch queen size with the more elegant looking premium quilted cover. If these mattresses hold up over time, I will most definitely stay loyal to this brand. I have already recommended their product to some of my friends and family. Little background story...we have been sleeping on a donated but pretty new mattress for a year. We lost all our furniture, home and business in hurricane Harvey in 2017. So my sweet daughter collected some donated furniture for us to help us. The mattress was a typical spring type with layers of foam on top. But hubby and I are side sleepers, and we'd wake up with shoulder pain several times a week, and we both have scoliosis and frequent back pain.
Finally decided to mattress shop since I was sure that the bed was the source of our pain.
Well, after looking at Sleep Number beds and looking at mattresses in the furniture stores, I just couldn't see spending thousands of dollars for a good mattress. Highway robbery!
So I began my research...and even paid for a year of consumer reports! LoL
The beds that they've tested and recommend were all over $1200, so I scratched those off my list. However, my research lead me to discover that coil mattresses eventually wear out and you feel the coils. No matter what the price. Matter of fact the mattress we had before the flood was a pricey, double pillow top that you could flip over, and I could feel the springs.
And then there is the hybrid spring/memory foam mattresses. Some of them may be great and most that made the top of Consumer Reports list are a hybrid. But pricey.
Then I began to read about all foam mattresses. I saw that temperpedic is still popular and loved, and began to look for something similar.
THIS BED IS IT!
We unboxed it. Did not need to cut the plastic. Just unrolled it.
We let it absorb air for a few hours and put it on our platform.
Put a mattress pad on it and our sheets.
Laid on it and I thought I was in heaven :)
Now understand this mattress feels pretty firm when you first lay on it. However, when laying on your side, it GIVES where there is more pressure; like my shoulder and hips. I could literally feel NO PRESSURE THERE!
Last night was the first night sleeping on the bed.
I slept like a baby until my boxer dog woke me up at 4:25 to potty.
Did NOT wake up to sore shoulder and a back ache though! And I feel rested. Before, on the old bed, I was tossing and turning all night trying to get comfortable or rolling over when my shoulders would hurt or hands would go to sleep.
With this bed , there is NO PRESSURE...hence NO PAIN!
OMG...so happy with this bed. I just pray that it lasts.
Will update this review if the thing goes flat or gets lumpy. But hopefully it will remain a good bed for many years to come.
I have had 3 back surgeries, I was never able to sleep more than a couple hours at a time without hurting and waking up. I did my research and decided this was the best choice because I am a side sleeper.
Mattress came on time and was packaged very well. It took less than 24 hours for it to fully expand. We did not notice any odor. I love the bed cover feature that you can zip off and throw in the wash.
It is the best sleep I have ever had! I slept 6 hrs first night!! My husband loves this bed and the free pillow. He sleeps with only one pillow now. We will purchase this mattress for our boys.
