Really great specs for the price. Runs very smooth and quiet, set up was a breeze. Runs photoshop cloud very well. Tested on a few virtual world applications, also ran very smoothly. Heavy duty gamers may want more juice, but if you're looking for a decent out-of-the box machine for a moderate price point, this is hard to beat

Transitioning from Mac to PC. First tried out the Dell G7 with similar processor. It ripped thru Red Raw footage no problem. The G7 crushes my currently maxed out 2017 iMac. Which prompted me to buy this Dell tower. Having six-cores greatly increases performance when editing with Adobe apps. 16GB Ram is a nice sweet spot, more is better, 16 is nice. In this Machine upgraded to 1TB M.2 system drive. Overall the system is quick, quiet and packs a punch. Pairs with a 28-inch Dell minitor. Two corrections to reviews below: no you can’t build this system under $500 with same specs. This is a 3.2Ghz processor with a boost to 4.6Ghz.

The computer works very well. This version is the 16GB RAM, 2TB storage. It can run Total War Warhammer II at 70 FPS (released 2017), as well as City Skylines, XCOM 2 etc... They all run well. It is a super slick looking computer too!

Wow, pretty slick computer. I didn’t realize how fast the 128 gig SSD would fill up. Only running operating system on it. Everything must be installed on the 2 terabyte drive. Runs real quiet and fast. Very happy.

I could not have built this computer for this price. Fairly easy to upgrade. I have upgraded the internal 128GB M.2 drive to 256GB (Max for the slot), and added a 500GB WD Black M.2 with a PCIe X4 adapter card, and migrated the OS onto it. Some minor issues with the BIOS and migration, however with some free third party software all went smoothly. .

Description

Gaming desktop engineered with an 8th Gen Intel Core processor, VR-ready graphics and a striking design built for optimal cooling and powerful performance.

The case is top processed and has a very noble design. The performance level corresponds to 100% of the installed components. From the first minute everything was neatly preinstalled and ready to use. Unwanted software was easily removed. Unfortunately, the desktop has no water cooling as it can be suspected in the pictures, so only 4 stars. Current games run smoothly with the highest settings in HD. Only in the resolution 4K you notice the first performance weaknesses. In this price segment really a very good desktop PC.

I like this 5680s performance, no complaints there. It came with a m.2 SATA 128 GB boot SSD. I did replace that with a 512 GB NVMe boot device. Super fast boot and operation now.

The first 5680 I received, appeared to brick after applying a Dell recommended BIOS update. Maybe the NVMe drive? I got the Amazon replacement in 2 days and used it happily for a few months . Finally on my second 5680, same Dell recommended BIOS update notification popped up. I crossed my fingers and hit 'apply'. Guess what? Brick.

Customer support was polite but I had a real hard time understanding their heavily accented English. As I was waiting on hold for the 'warranty support', to get details for a warranty return, my call was dropped.

Lucky for me, I work on and support older PCs. I decided to power up while pressing all of the Function keys as rapidly as I could, success! The BIOS went into some type to self test mode that lasted for about 5 minutes, passed and booted up. Most i7 PCs have a, BIOS reset on boot, function key. I could not locate that info for this PC.

I will not be updating the BIOS on this machine, ever. Other than that, after five months of use, I love this thing. :)

Really happy with this computer, great for photo editing and gaming.

This was the easiest PC setup I have ever had. It’s super fast and very quiet, I cant hear it when it’s on unless the fan kicks on and even then it’s barely a hum.

SUGGESTION: Before installing your cloud storage on your PC and setting it to keep files on PC, make sure to change the location of where all your files are stored, ie, set it to the 2 TB hard drives and not the 128gb SSD. I made this mistake and ran out of memory before my OneDrive folders (one is personal use and one is Business use) we’re completely downloaded.
I’m not a gamer but the gaming PC’s have the specs I wanted for my software and speed for my work applications.
I would definitely recommend this PC for any home or office use, but cannot speak intelligently for gaming use.

My son bought this because my computer wasn't good enough for his games. He loves it and is able to play all his games without any problems.
