Complete correct dimentions is (17 &10/16", 7&6/16", 5&4/16") end to end.
Before I bought it, I wanted to know exactly how tall it was while standing straight. The spec sheet says 19.2 x 10.1 x 4.3 inches. In reality, its more like 17.6875" tall when standing completely straight from desk to very top. 17.25 from desk to bottom side of lamp (light) for those who plan on hovering it over something. This can be observed in pictures. The lamp can easily hover over low standing 23" screens (my 23" screen is just under 16.5" in height and will work with anything right up to 17" tall.
EDIT: there is a 16KHz high pitch sound comming from the bottom of the lamp. It's from the electronics inside right where the touch pad is. It should be okay for most adults and possibly teens, but children hear the high pitch noise. A family with children visited our home and the kids asked me "Why is it making that noise"... so I later figured out it was 16Khz and small-moderate volume so be aware.
If anyone think's I got a fluke, well I didn't. My brother ordered the same light and his emits the same exact 16Khz sound which I determined from an iphone app.
Bought two lamps for a 64 inch desk. Lamps are very rugged and the packaging was excellent. I paid extra for 2-day shipping because I don't like electronic items tossed around from truck to truck. But these were packaged such that you could drop them off the roof of your house and nothing would happen. I was impressed. Standard/free shipping would have been fine. The warmth setting is essential. You need that if you are going for max brightness. It makes the LED light on par with a " soft light" incandescent bulb. I am not sure why anyone would want to select the bright blue option. It is way too harsh. There were two very minor downsides which I did not anticipate. The first is that the transformer is intended to be plugged directly into your wall outlet. So there is not enough space on a regular duplex outlet to plug in both of my lamps' transformers. The second is that the lamps can only be turned on by touching the touch pad. So if you were thinking of plugging this desk lamp into a wall outlet controlled by a wall switch, such that you could flip on the lamp when you enter the room, it will not work. You will still have to touch the touch pad. I guess in that situation you remember to leave the nightlight function on instead of turning the lamp off completely. At least that way you won't walk into a totally dark room and have to fumble to find the touch pad.
This is the third TaoTronics lamp I've purchased and is by far my favorite (DL01 and DL07 being the others)! The base is finally heavy enough to feel sturdy and allow easy adjustment. The brushed metallic finish is fingerprint resistant (unlike the black plastic on some of their other lamps). The numerous light settings work amazingly well and save what you last used, even between other settings. The rotating head is great for desks, but is especially useful for bedroom reading where the lamp is off to the side. Finally, the nightlight option is easy to activate, is its own button, and doesn't require the lamp to be opened.
It does get warm on the top if you're using the brightest setting, but not so much that I think it would burn skin during normal contact. The only other downside is that now I really want to replace my other two with this version.
This lamp is beautiful, minimalist, and very functional. The materials are very high quality and the fit and finish are tight and very well constructed. The brushed metal (probably aluminum) is extremely nice. This lamp is absolutely prefect... From a guy that reads a lot and loves minimalist tech with high end materials. Beautiful product TaoTronics, please keep producing items of this quality. I seriously love this lamp it has so many functions. You can easily dim or brighten the light by sliding your finger on the glass touch pad or drastically change the color of the light all through a range from warm yellow to bright white/blueish. I love the USB connecter in the side, it is perfect to charge my phone at night. It has a nightlight function so if you get up in the night and don't want to be blinded but want to see there is a very low light you can turn on my touching the glass. It has a timer function which is pretty cool. and it ROTATES and moves in any possible you direction that you could want it to. The lamp itself is heavy and is instantly recognizable as quality construction on every detail of it. I seriously love this lamp and it looks perfect.
Seriously, my daughter had a lamp from same company Tao Tronics. (Have no idea where she got it - may have been us a few years ago). I quickly looked on Amazon and saw these lamps, black, perfect for my office where my wife and I have side by side desks. Probably the coolest lamp I have ever seen or owned. Literally does everything a lamp could possibly do. Has at least 8 different light temperture settings, so it will work for you whether you like warm 2700K light or cool daylight temps 5000K or above. If you dont know what that is, 2700K is like a normal old school light bulb, warm and inviting, 5000K is more like a flourescent office building feel, and it has daylight feel. Lamp also has a timer, and a nightlight. Has a favorite function as well, when you finally know the temp of light you like, simply hold the favorite button down and it will remmeber that for the future. Swivels and pivots and bends in about any configuration, and the head can even rotate to the side if you want to annoy the person next to you. Finally, it has a USB port!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and as I type I also just realized there is a dimmer for all settings. THE GREATEST LAMP EVER - I am not a company plugged review - real person here - I just love the lamp - we bought two BTW.

To start off, this is a great lamp, it stood out from all the rest OI looked at, and, to make it simpler for you, I'll just list out the pros and cons of this product:
Pros:
+Aesthetically gorgeous. Modern. Sharp. This is my style.
+Extremely bright. I haven't had the chance to use the different shades of light properly, but they look nice as well.
+Aforementioned different shades of light are a plus. I'm not the kind of guy to care much about it though.
+The Dimmer. Another nice thing in itself, if you don't want to have your area to be as bright as the sun all of the time or want to be more discreet.
+Touch Panel is very nicely made, reasonably responsive, and retains that modern look. Not sure how well it stands to smudges yet though.
+USB port. Works as good as any other power adapter and charges devices as quickly. Ease of access makes it great.
+Premium build quality and feel. That aluminum is definitely cool in both senses.
+Flexibility is reasonable, can be a bit awkward to position sometimes, but it is definitely good enough for me.
Cons:
-There is a subtle, high pitched noise that emanates from the lamp whenever it is turned on, and actually is proportional to the degree of brightness. This can be a bother sometimes, but can be heard far less when you are using the "Book Reading" setting,albeit still slightly there. I have already returned the product once (Only to lose ~$15) in hopes of reordering and getting one that does not have this problem, unfortunately, even the new one has this problem. So I think it is safe to assume many more do as well.
Essentially, if you can stand a high-pitched noise coming from the lamp, get it, it's great. However, if you think you will be sensitive to this fact, you may want to reconsider.

My halogen desk lamp, which i never particularly liked died, so it was time to upgrade to LED.
I use my desk lamp constantly and it's important to me that it works well and suits my needs. I wanted something that could rival the brightness of my halogen so i went with this one since it had the highest wattage, good ratings, etc...
WOW! what an improvement in every possible way!
I should note this is my first experience with LED lighting in a setting where i use it often and have it close to me.
Halogen lights bother me in general, and bother my eyes, so switching to led just "felt" better for me. It feels much less Intense.
Halogen lights get HOT, and having one so close to me all day wasn't great either. Led - no heat!
I love the multi-step dimmer, and quite often keeping it on the lowest setting is perfect for me, while the brightest setting packs a punch when i need it. This thing gets bright!
My favorite part is probably the color temperature adjuster. Though i keep it on ("full coffee" haha) - the lowest temp setting almost all the time, having the option to adjust it is really nice. Compared to the glaring retina burning halogen this is a huge improvement!
I actually use the night light function which i didn't think i would.
The controls are super easy, intuitive, and work great.
I actually forgot about the usb port until i went to write this review! bonus!
The ability to rotate the light every which way is great.

I reviewed lamps on Amazon for days and finally purchased this one and could not be happier. This is actually a piece of art that also serves as the World's Best table lamp. The actual light emitted from this is as close to infinity as one could hope for. From soft and soothing to intense and bright and ALL points in between. The lamp just looks and feels like pure quality(which it is). I love the brushed gray with black base. The controls are well thought out and if this lamp does not meet your needs I seriously doubt you will ever find one that does. I will probably have to purchase another one since my significant other has discovered this is perfect for sewing and she has tried a million lights to use with a sewing machine and this one is perfect per her. I would and have recommended this to any and everyone. Again, this is a work of art that serves as a lamp as well. Great Value.
Item is as advertised, just little bit bigger than it appears in photos, which is also good. As this page shows, there is newer model of this available already, and while buying I choose between the two, and still bought this older model, I took into account that in the newer model USB has decreased 1w power, whereas this one has 2w power, so it would charge faster some devices with big batteries, like power banks for example. Another thing was that lighting part of this old version can also turn around as it has extra joint close to the actual lighting part, which the newer model does not have, I thought this is better design but I could be wrong, as they eliminated this joint from the new model, for it there must be reason as I guess now, in this model heat generated by lighting part is not distributed further than the joint, the rest of top part and whole leg stays completely cool, while head part gets pretty hot. I think as in newer model this last joint is no more present, heat will be distributed little bit further and whole device will be cooled down more efficiently due to extended surface for releasing a heat. Possibly this design change could affect lifetime of the lamp, and newer model should work longer than this one. This is something I could not take into the account as I noticed it only after using the unit. So beside of it's disadvantage of decreased USP power from 2 to 1 watt, the newer model has anyway some technical advantages over this old model, trade-of is a convenient turning head (old) vs possibly extended lifetime of the device (new model) . Hopefully I helped you to make informed decision between the two. I have not used the newer model, but I do like this one very much, so far it works fine.
I bought this for my Mother-in-Law who is 92 and suffers from Glaucoma and macular degeneration. She needed a powerful and very adjustable light with a lamp head adjustable enough so that it's output fell directly on the page she was reading but in such a way that the light element itself was not visible because she cannot take the glare of an unshielded bulb. This lamp suits those needs and serves her well.
I was quite surprised at how large this lamp is, I think it is the largest of its type I've seen. It's also obvious that it was designed and built by an "Engineer", an "over-achieving engineer who wants it to last well into the next century. No simple gooseneck here, each part Is carefully machined, precision fitted and the entire mechanism gifted with virsitile positioning ability.
The base is very heavy and does a good job of counter balancing the lamp head so long as the arm is parallel with the base. The arm is also capable of swiveling out of parallel on the but this allows the heavy arm & head to overpower the base and the lamp will tip. I'm not sure why the ability of the arm (to swivel) was allowed since doing so will allow the lamp to tip over quite easily.
Nonetheless, this is a great light, it has quite good (but not great) output, excellent engineering and the feeling of a very high quality product.
Pros :- A large, beautifully engineered and built piece. The quality of materials and production are supurb.
Cons :- It's size & appearance make it imposing so it's not going to be in everyone's taste. I like it, my wife hated it, my Mother-in-Law thought it ugly but admitted it worked very well. Although it's quite bright, I feel it could be brighter still as there are tImes when I'm wrapping a fishing lure or working on fine electronic traces that even more light would be welcome.
In summary: this is a rare piece that exhibits fine engineering, design, excellent materials and production quality at a most reasonable Price.
Highly recommended.
