After my initial review, Sytech reached out to me saying they have a new batch of cables with improved housing that won't affect a 2.4 GHz wifi signal. They sent the new cables and they work perfectly. They are sturdy and work perfectly on all wifi channels.
What is really impressive is how wonderful their customer service is. They are friendly, courteous, and willing to work with you. I was traveling from the U.S. to the U.K. around the same time as the expected delivery. Syntec was able to rush the order to make sure that the cables arrived while I was still in the U.S.
In short, Syntech behaved exactly how I would hope they would. They acknowledged the item didn't suit my needs, accepted responsibility, and freely offered to make it right.
That's more than I expected for a couple of $10 cables.

Dear Syntech,
While I like your product for connectivity speed and it's solid craftsmanship, I've encountered a pretty hefty flaw. My main use for the cable is to connect my external Seagate hard drive which uses a USB 3 to my Mac which uses a USB C, but when I do so and am on a 2.4 GHz wifi connection, I get kicked off the wifi. I've tried this at my home and at my office with the same results. In troubleshooting this issue, I came across some information that the noise from USB 3.0 data spectrum can be high (in the 2.4-2.5GHz range). Any effect this would have on a 2.4 wifi is usually nullified by the cable's housing.
Have I received 2 faulty cables, or is this simply a design flaw?
I should also mention that while on a 5 GHz wifi connection, the cables work fine and there is no interference. Again, I think the cables are great in every other respect.
Will you accept a return or exchange without the original packaging? You'll be out a cardboard box, but you'll have a customer for life!
This is a highly robust product that has served all of my usb c to usb 3 related needs for my macbook pro with one odd exception; Because of the metal construction of these dongles, they freely transmit a signal that interferes with my macbook pro's wifi connectivity when connected to usb 3.0 external hard drives. If you intend to use these cables primarily for hard drives on a macbook pro, you might want to consider a plastic option. otherwise these cables are amazing.
I bought a Macbook Pro for design work. I purchased these adapters in hopes of connecting all of my necessary peripherals but found out one major caveat... With a monitor plugged in via hdmi + usb c & a Wacom tablet, it's impossible to charge the laptop and thus, I was not able to use my monitor since the MBP must be powered.
This required me to forego these single adapters & buy a usb-c hub... A rather useless purchase but at least I can use these adapters when I don't need to use an external monitor.
Just got a new 13” Macbook laptop and needed adaptors for plugging in my iphone or flashdrive or disc drive. These work great and I can plug in 2 things at same time if I need to. No long cables to deal with! Great purchase!

These work great on my brand new MacBook Pro 15" laptop. They are strong, compact, and work perfectly connecting my USB C to USB lines. I would buy another package of two. Right now I am using one to connect my laptop desk with cooling and sound my laptop and the other to keep my iPhone charged when necessary. This connector also works well on my older external hard drive.
My new MacBook Pro uses Four Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports with support for: Charging, DisplayPort,Thunderbolt (up to 40 Gbps), and USB 3.1 Gen 2 (up to 10 Gbps). I can connect anything I want to my laptop with these connectors. Glad I have them.
I bought these since they should be easier to see in my laptop bag (white) and harder to loose than just a small rigid USB C to USB 3.0 adapter. I have a lot of them as I seem to go where lost sock go. These work as expected and I like that if I do have my laptop on my lap it is not putting any stress on the connection to my PC.
I've tried several different adaptors. I really like these the best. The best feature is that it gets large USB plugs out of the way. The adaptor is well made. I'm using it to connect to a wired-only printer and flash drives. It is working very well.
I couldn't be happier as I've experimented with several solutions before landing on this one. I didn't like having a stiff extension protruding from the side of the laptop. When using the laptop on my lap any bumping of the plug-in could damage the USB-C port. This adaptor has a nice woven flexible cord moving any large USB plug away from the port. Problem solved!
There aren't a whole lot of USB C devices yet. (I have a trackball I want to use with my MacBook Pro) These adapters are perfect for attaching older devices, dongles, etc. to your USB C port. Very well built, they are the perfect bridge from A to C.
They are great! I really wish I had ordered more (our ordering is controlled so I have to wait till next month - darn).
The normal little dongles that are hard and accept USB directly inevitably break. They are also bulky and some brands don't allow for the other C port next to the one you are using to be used. They also put a LOT of stress on the computer frame, jack and mainboard.
With this dongle It is so simple and so perfect. It puts the bulk away from the USB C connector. I can not wait until next month to order a fe more sets. If someone gifted me 10 right now I would still purchase more. Seriously.
They are VERY well made, do not stress the jack and look great too (esp. on my i9 MBP)
I can not recommend them enough. If you have USB C and need an adapter and don't want a bulky hub this is your solution.
