SHINE HAI Candelabra LED Filament Bulbs Dimmable 40W Equivalent, 5000K Daylight White Chandelier B11 LED Bulb E12 Base Decorative Candle Light Bulb, Pack of 12

I tried many of the new Chinese LED bulbs on amazon, and I can say that SHINE HAI is the best. The 2700K color, the spread of the light, the luminance, and the construction. The other guys are just not bright enough, or they are the wrong color (too white), or they are DOA. I have ordered 36 different SHINE HAI bulbs and ALL of them work out of the box! (Candelabra, GU10, MR16)

Seriously folks, I have done the research for you here. Just get these and be done with it. And no, they did not pay me for this review.

This is a review of the 2700K warm white 40W dimmable bulbs.

This is one of the best deals on Amazon for dimmable candelabra E12 LED bulbs, at about $3 a piece. Of course, their life span will determine how good of a deal this really is, so time will tell. 2-year warranty isn't bad.

The bulbs dim very smoothly all the way down to zero output. At maximum, they do look like 40W equivalents - they are significantly brighter than the 25W incandescent bulbs I had for comparison. The color is, as advertised, warm white.

The only issue is that, when the dimmer (Eaton SLC03P) is roughly in the middle position, there is a very slight and infrequent flicker. I really have to stare at the light to notice it because it happens only one in a while, and sometimes I wonder if it's all in my head. When the dimmer is at or near the max or min levels, there is no flicker. Overall I'm happy with the performance.

Depending on how soon they start failing I will come back to update this review.

Previous to this purchase, I had tried various LED filament-style bulbs. They were cheaply made, without the necessary components to provide full dimming capability, even with the latest, best-quality Lutron dimmers. I bought a six-pack of the SHINE HAI brand (soft-white version), and (sad that this is the exception, not the rule), the bulbs look great, and dim very well, with only a slight flicker when approaching the low end of the dim range.(10-15%).

I was also concerned about the brightness level, since I have two, two-bulb wall sconce fixtures that looked much too dim with the other style LED bulbs (lower third is white plastic, LED points up). These look great, are evenly bright, and don't have an ugly white base. They may be too bright when used at 100% power, so I'd suggest not buying unless you plan to use them with a dimmer, or in a location where you actually want bright light (outside). I also tried the daylight color temperature version of this bulb, and the light was very bright and too cool for indoor fixtures.

I was so pleased with the performance in the sconce fixtures, that I bought another dozen bulbs to use in two chandeliers, also with dimmers.

Caution: be sure to completely remove power (at the circuit breaker, or by pulling the "air gap" tab, if the dimmer has one), before installing these bulbs. The metal collar shown in the photo sticks out above the fixture base. If the circuit was improperly wired (reversed polarity), then it could result in a shock.

Amazing Bulbs, great quality, and sleek look.

One Con: When dimming to very low level, they sometimes flicker. I can get over this, as it only happens at VERY low dim levels.

These bulbs came very quickly. I wanted to replace regular incandescent bulbs in a chandelier. I replaced the five bulbs with these SHINE HAI bulbs. Four of them worked and one did not. Fortunately, these were six in the package, and I replaced the non working one and all was fine. They have really good quality light, are dimmable, and generate little heat. My wife loves them. I would have given 5 stars, but the one non-working bulb caused me to drop off one star. Perhaps SHINE HAI will send me a replacement bulb, but it's not a big deal.

Description

This is a awesome product. I have a 150 year old house in a historic district and the previous led and other "green" bulbs just looked terrible and were not an option. These in the lower range are perfect, the bulbs look like old fashened bulbs and are really cool. Plus they use so little power that I will not have to upgrade several older light circuits. Seven bulbs now use just a tiny bit more wattage then half of a previous 40 watt single old bulb, fantastic. And great price as well, only minor issue is the top of the new bulb metal base can come in contact with some old metal decorated fixtures and sometimes a wrap or two of electrical tape around the top of the metal base is required. Base should be redesigned without the 1/4 inch of metal band at the top of the metal connector like old bulbs.

These bulbs really exceeded my expectations. They are being used in in 2 chandeliers and 2 wall sconces. I was expecting to have to replace the wall dimmers but they worked perfectly! The range of dimming was better than I thought it would be. One of my dimmers is an X10 wall dimmer that is 25 years old! The color was warm enough as an excellent replacement for the 40 watt bulbs. They are a little on the bright side so on one chandelier there were 16 bulbs to replace. I put in 12 and slightly unscrewed 4 inside (you can't really see them) and it was way brighter than before. Huge power savings - from a total of 23 - 40 watt bulbs (920 watts) to 19 - 4 watt bulbs (76 watts) and not to mention the heat that was generated I am expecting to see a reduction in my electric bill!. And these were so reasonably priced - only slightly more than the non-dimmable.

These are good bulbs and the color temperature is the best I have seen for this price. The dimmable feature is also very good with very smooth transition. We have numerous chandeliers in our house and they will all eventually have these type bulbs. They also don't heat up the foyer like the old incandescent bulbs did. There are 18 bulbs in the foyer chandelier and during the summer we had to put lamps there now we can use the chandelier year round.

I bought two sets of 6 bulbs, and they are great. No duds. I have one set in a dimming candelabra, and the dimming works really well. They all dim together with similar brightness, and I didn't have to hand-pick from the 12 I have to find the best ones for that. One thing that is much better than the incandescent bulbs they replaced is that the color temperature stays the same as they dim; they don't turn yellow-orange. I like that the light is projected in all directions from these bulbs, not just mostly up as some other LED or CFL designs.

P.S. This is NOT one of those sponsored "unbiased" reviews that seem so common. I paid full price and have no relationship with the supplier. I just like the bulbs. :)

Such good value! I wanted to go with a 60 wtz bulb because I wanted a lot of light, but I’m glad I didn’t! These lights are soooo bright and the color of the light is not yellow or blue, just a nice white. The value is incredible. Everywhere I looked they sold 6 bulbs for this price, and here you get a full 12. They look very well exposed too. All together a great bulb.
