I saw this frame available as a Cyber Monday deal and decided to order one to try out. It was delivered to me later the same day, but unfortunately the deal expired. I say infortunately because now that I have it in my hands and can see what a quality device this is, I would have ordered three or four more at the same price. Hopefully the deal will return.
I will have a more detailed review forthcoming, but for now I am highly impressed with the build quality, looks and functionality of this digital, connected frame. The high resolution screen is brilliant and sharp, while the frame itself looks elegant and high-end (I chose the bronze color). It is a great piece of engineering and design. It is also simple to setup and use (the drag-and-drop feature is not working and this is hampering my efforts to quickly get the frame loaded with albums/pictures (I am not ready to fault Nixplay for this yet as I am still learning my way around the frame and website).
UPDATE: The drag & drop feature does indeed work. The problem that I was having was that I was clicking and immeditaely attempting to drag, as I would with something on a desktop. The way this feature works on a the Nixplay website and your web browser is that you must wait about a second after clicking on a photo or album before dragging it (Don't forget to click "save" after adding photos to an album). I can now very easily load up my frame with photos or albums from my computer, anywhere on my network, or social media & photo sharing websites.
I have since purchased a second frame in SILVER for the office and it performs equally as well as the first. If I had to choose between colors, I would say that I favor the bronze with it's warmer and richer look, but the silver does look clean and modern.
One feature that I feel is sorely missing is a clip or magnet on the back of the frame to hold the remote. The remote is small, thus easy to misplace.
I also wish that it had DLNA support to access to locally stored photo album/folders on a NAS or other devices on a home network. This should also allow dynamic playlists that would mirror linked-to external, online playlists, so that one could simply edit the online playlist and the frame would then automatically and dynamicly "stream" whatever is currently on it.
Here's an important tip for this frame! At first my frame wouldn't work properly. It kept freezing and giving me static noises. Turns out that you absolutely must use the USB power adapter that comes with the frame - which is huge and sticks out really far from the wall which means I had to pull the credenza the frame sits on so far from the wall that it looked stupid. So I tried to use a smaller USB adapter with a thinner profile. Anyway, after I figured out the problem, the frame worked perfectly and I love it. (Fixed the profile problem by using an extension cord.) It's easy to upload pictures, although some of them require manipulation if you chose the "fill frame" display option on the frame. It sometimes crops off heads, etc. But that would happen on any frame you buy. I'm thinking about getting one for my grandma in a nursing home - it's that easy.
First, this frame is AMAZING! We got them for both sets for grandparents and they absolutely LOVE being up to date with their grandkids. The best thing is - they don't have to do anything and we control and keep everything up to date from our phones which is then sent anywhere their frames are. PERFECT! Super easy to snap photos and send them to the frames right from our phones (Samsung AND iPhone) and it is also easy to make separate playlists for each frame. Also, I recently needed support and got FANTASTIC customer service!! They both emailed AND called to follow up to make sure everything was perfect. You honestly cannot find a better product or gift for the grandparents. I love this product and company.
Purchased this frame twice for elderly family members. The online option to add photos is great, as multiple members of my family use the login to add pictures to the frame seamlessly (great that we can do this remotely as we are not in the same state). For elderly relatives or others that may not have smartphones or are aren't too computer savvy, this is a great way to share digital pictures. Although you may need to be there to help set it up if your family isn't used to playing with wifi connections!
4 star rating is due to the fact that initial set up can be a bit finicky in connecting to the local wifi. Also, on rare occasion, some uploaded pictures come across distorted or off center in the frame.
This frame is awesome! It takes just a little bit of getting used to, but once set up and you are familiar with the app/website then it is pretty easy. Best looking iCloud frame that we were able to find and works exactly as described!
Also, the customer service was very responsive via email. Maybe even too much so -- I would get a reply with a few hours and then daily follow-ups to check in... sometimes before I was even able to try their suggested solution.

Bought it for my mom and it has worked out well. I use the nixplay website and it is pretty easy to use; I have not tried the app. The quality of the frame is good but I do hope they up the finishes in future models. It works simple enough for sharing photos via internet. My family is not too tech savvy and this product is simple enough for them to enjoy on a daily basis. It may be a bit pricey but I think it is worth it so far
Very easy to setup and use. Picture files are a bit slow to transfer, to the cloud site, but once they do, they show up on the frame quite rapidly. Easy to setup and change settings later once you see what it's like. My Mom usually waits for me to set up electronics for her, but she did most of this on her own. Video tutorials were also quite helpful.
Looks nice, and pictures display well. The first product I received had a damaged component, but the frame was quickly replaced. The biggest, long-term gripe is that it sounds as if you can dynamically connect Google Photos albums. In reality, you can "open" your Google Photos collection via the Nix web site, but you need to drag and drop which photos from Google or other services you want to sync with your frame. I didn't want to ask my siblings to all setup Nix accounts, but use a common Google album. What we need to do is more cumbersome than I would have liked, but it's functional.
I purchased a NixPlay for my Mother, she lives in Germany and is 81. From time to time she gets adventures on the settings and ends up calling me to ask me why the frame doesn't show any pictures anymore. Today I called customer support and ICE assisted me in fixing the problem. He was super helpful, knowledgable and fast in getting the settings back on track. Over the last 2 years I had nothing but great customer service from NixPlay and we will continue getting frames so our family can share pictures across the world and keep connected. Thanks again to ICE for his great help.
Not only do I love this product, the customer service center (Jeff) was exceptional! I lost my power adapter and thought I would be super complicated to get another one. One call, talked to Jeff, and sending me a new adapter for free. Btw...I’ve given this frame as a gift four times, and everyone loves it. Super easy to set up and use.
