I use the pencils for drawing. Colored pencils are a fun medium to work with and very easy to clean up after.

I have purchased several various sets of color pencils, I use them for adult intricate coloring books--these pencils are soft leaded, but not too soft as to create bleeding and smudging. They sharpen well, the tin container is nice, and the price is good, I would pay even a little more due to the quality. The pencil colors are not on the pencil, but the upper barrel color matches the color lead pretty good. To summarize, these pencils, in my opinion, are very good, well worth the price, and I am glad to have this set in my collection, they are keepers, and I will purchase these again when needed.

The pencils lay down smoothly with colors that are vibrant. The quality of the wood is good as well and I have had no issues sharpening them. This set doesn't have color names on them but I read that they will in the future.

Beautiful colors, but no names, just color numbers on back of tin they came in. Had to match colors to numbers which took me some time because some of the colors looked the same.

EXCELLENT shipping and delivery! They arrived the very next day after I ordered them which was a pleasant surprise. These pencils are very nice with nice soft lay down and saturation of color. My complaint is that I also happened to receive a 72 set of Schpirerr Farben pencils at the same time and lo and behold, when I opened both sets, they have the EXACT same colors! I swatched them side by side and there was VERY minute IF ANY difference! I will also add that they both felt pretty close in the way they went down on the paper but I give the edge to the Schpirerr Farben pencils in that they felt just a little smoother and the pigmentation seemed a smidgen richer. If you didn’t have them together to compare you most likely wouldn’t notice a difference. I recommend this set if you like oil based colored pencils but if I were to purchase between this set and the Schpirerr Farben, I would order the latter.

For the ridiculously low price that these pencils sell for, I didn't expect much. My undergrad BA art degree had a concentration in medical illustration, and we used Prismacolor Colored Pencils for all of our coursework. Since then, I prefer the oil-based Faber Castell or Caran d'Ache, but these pencils go for over $1 a piece, alone-- with sets in the hundreds. I decided to try these Cezanne pencils, not having a lot of hope due to the price-- but instead was blown away!!! They equal Prismacolor for performance and color saturation, with the same handling characteristics and application "feel". The wood barrels are better quality and easier to sharpen (with larger diameter leads). Even though I dropped the set halfway through making the pig test artwork (which is 12x16" on Canson Mi-Tientes pastel paper), there was not that "lead drop" issue that kills other lower to mid range brands where the broken pieces fall out, since they were smart enough to bond the lead inside the barrel, like the high end European brands do. The whites and light colors performed very well over the mid tone grey paper I did the work on, and I did not have to use white gouache and brush to give any white "pops" of highlight.
Will I give up oil based colored pencils for these exclusively? Probably not. For some papers and techniques, they are a necessity. Will I continue to use these in my colored pencil arsenal? You can bet your sweet bippy!!! Anyone looking to get into colored pencils starting out would greatly benefit from the Cezanne brand, as any intermediate to professional artists and illustrators who love a great wax-based colored pencil and LOVE a great value, even more!
