It has a very solid feel since it is made from an aluminum alloy. I have seen smaller car chargers but they aren't made as well or are impossible to remove. It fits snugly into the charging port without feeling like it will fall out or you won't be able to remove it. I was able to charge my iPad 3 and iPhone 6 with the charger. The iPad pulled a little over 5v and 2.28A (see pics). This is a solid compact charger.

Update 7/6 - I received a replacement at no additional cost and was proactively approached by seller. I am happy to say everything works as expected. I have their wireless charging pad and this in my car and it makes it so easy keep your stuff charged.
Update 6/13 - Seller contacted me and offered a replacement at no cost. I will use it for sometime and update my review based on its durability. Love the fact, that seller is backing their products quality and working pro-actively to help customer.
It stopped working after 2 months. It's very loose in the car plug and have to hold it by hand to actually begin charging.
[updated review] While the original RAVPower was "just okay," this seller (Sun Valley) pursued me relentlessly to make it right. And make it right they did. Not only did they insist on refunding my initial purchase price, they shipped me the next version which nailed it!

Excellent! My car phone charger was a piece of garbage so I replaced it with this. Bought a bright red cable to go with it which makes it easy to find in my often messy car. This thing fits the socket tight... my stupid dog can still knock it out but otherwise it stays in and hooked up. Nice blue led light to let you know you have electricity connected. Charges my phone rapidly as can be done. I expect someday usb ports will be standard in automobiles.

This little guy has done it all. So far it has brought smiles to the owners of a Fire phone, an S4, Fire tablets, iPads, iPhones and various readers while also powering the CSR Bluetooth connection. No buzz, no heat; but it hasn't cured "Are we there yet?" from the back seat.
Sturdy and works amazingly well. I purchased this to put in my car, which has one car lighter in the back for my kids to share. Oy, what a disaster waiting to happen. This way, they can both charge devices (as long as they remember their own charging cords). I love that this is compact, durable and has a tiny light to indicate its working. The bulk of it is metal, so its not a flimsy plastic thing. I feel like this will survive and stand up to the hard life it's about to endure. I'll update if it doesn't but I have high hopes.
