I purchased this product for my 90 year old father who was affected by hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. As of today they still have no electricity. He uses this every day. He truly loves the radio, listens to it every day and the light come in handy at night for getting around the house. If he can use it at 90 years of age it says something about this product
The advance in DSP (Digital Signal Processing) technology have really made these radios far better than they used to be just a few years ago. There's multiple manufacturers of this type of radio on Amazon; likely with the same performance (which was far better than I expected) so price was the deciding factor in this purchase. It performs very well, picking up the local WB station quite clearly and FM stations are clear as well. AM is a little above average for this type of radio (I have a Terk Indoor AM Advantage to improve any AM radio's performance). The LED flashlight is also very bright. The only complaint is that it uses a cellphone battery (though the crank-charger seems to charge it for a good while when depleted) and there's no option for installing AA's/AAA's. Still, it's easy at this price (currently $15.95) to say this little jewel is the biggest bang for the buck right now on this style of radio.

Update 3/20/18:
This radio REALLY served me well in the last Noreaster here in NY.My daughter and I were up in Ramapo, NY staying at a motel, I did not want to drive in the snow. Well the power had gone out, the motel Manager gave us some candles. I used this radio to find out what the weather conditions were and listen to some music to pass the time. Before going to bed I plugged my phone into the USB outlet and had a full charge on my phone in the morning! I would highly recommend this radio for the unexpected!
Overall, it is great. Price, performance, portability, operation. The Samsung smartphone was well charged and the LED light worked well with just a few crank charging. It is recommended for emergency use. Of course, must have camping equipment. but one bad new, solar charging was not working. wrote on Apr 25, 2018

This is a great product for outdoor activities or in case of weather disasters emergencies. The light of the lamp is powerful, the sound of the radio is great and is very convenient the three ways to charge it, the solar is my favorite, I live in Florida, the sunshine state, but you also have the choice of the USB port or the manual changer. Is very convenient not to have batteries to buy . I strongly recommend the product, I bought another one for my family in Cuba where they have a lot of trouble finding batteries.

My seven-year old wanted me to post a five-star rating for his radio. He loves the science behind anything electrical and has been learning about green energy. This little radio is a great way to teach about mechanical and solar energy to a little kid. As a parent, I was impressed that the radio worked out of the box and has continued to work great over the past weeks as my son takes it back and forth to school and uses it in his fort. Plus, there's no batteries to buy!!!
A good, solid feel to it, solar panel & crank work great. The light is not the brightest, but works well. Charging port for cell appears to charge phone (although I would assume it generally only sufficient to make an emergency call). Main radio works. The weather radio for weather alerts & warnings, though, I am uncertain as we have had no major weather events and when I did check it, there appeared to be nothing being broadcasted when I tried tuning anything in. All in all, well pleased with and I ordered one for my mom for Christmas, as well.
Tested radio and AM, FM and Weather band all seem to pick up stations and sound is good. Flashlight works as well. Not sure about charging a cell phone, as I havent tested that yet. Knob to tune radio is a bit hard to turn, but not a dealbreaker.

I bought one of these for everybody in my family. Initially, I wanted one in the event of power outage and as a source of cell phone power and light. I've been keeping one on my small boat and use it to listen to the radio and again as an emergency power source for my cell phone. Recently on my boat, I ran the radio and charged my cell phone as a test to see how long the power would last. The battery never died over an eight hour period and was sustaining only on solar. I have also tested the crank capacity after I intentionally killed the battery. It only takes a short period of cranking to build up enough power for awhile (I'd say atleast a 15 to 1 ratio; One minute of cranking and 15 minutes of light).
I am curious to see how long this product lasts. Maybe buy 2 for the good price and have one as a back up!
