Closed flow clip on air chuck will only allow air to deflate, it will not open the internal seal/seat to allow air through to inflate anything. Screw on open flow blew the o-ring out of the end of tool upon sending air pressure through it. I reinstalled o-ring and disassembled the clip on tool to inspect it for damage but couldn't find anything wrong, leading me to believe it is made to deflate a tire only, not for inflating. Perhaps it's just the one unit that I received, so check before you assume it will inflate.
Update: after taking apart the clip on chuck, and I believe cleaning a small piece of brass debris from inside the depressor shaft area, the tool works as it should. Well made and locks on the tire valve securely as it should. It now allows air to pass to inflate a tire.
Customer service from the seller is outstanding as they contacted me to clear up any problems I was experiencing.
Therefore I'm giving this product a five star rating as this type of problem may occur with any manufactured item.
Very nice quality. After reading some of the reviews, I was skeptical about purchasing these. However, I bit the bullet and decided to get them anyway. I am very glad that I did. There was plenty of the thread on the straight chuck which is what I bought this set for. I did toss the other as I didn't need it. There were no leaks when connected to my tire pressure gauge and tire. I replaced the quick connection on my pressure gauge with the threaded straight one and it fit perfectly. I will probably purchase a couple more to replace other chucks as well. You cannot go wrong for the price.
The clip on chuck is far, far better than those sold in the big box stores. It actually clips right on and does not leak, even using it to inflate trailer and truck tires to 80 psi. The screw on chuck also is well made and functions very well. No more needing three hands - one to stabilize those rubber valve stems, one to hold the tire chuck, and a third to operate the lever on the air tank hose. Both even work well when filling a portable air tank to 120 psi from the air compressor. Just connect either chuck to the portable tank, set the compressor for 125 psi, turn it on, and walk away while the tank fills. No more kneeling by the tank to hold a chuck while a tank fills
I only needed the screw on piece so I haven't used the clamp on. It does it's job, the screw on seals once fully screwed into place. however it does leak when not attached to a schrader valve. I actually use it to fill a tank with pre-measured amount of liquid fuel for a special project, I needed something that wouldn't leak at all and be easy to use. I screw it on and start filling. Easy as that.
I was looking for a better quality connector than the one that comes with most tire/filler/pressure gauge setups. Both of these are brass and much better than the cheapo versions. The lever version actually locks onto the valve stem. The threaded version actually threads on. I bought these to fill my tractor tire without having to hold onto the valve the entire time. Works like a dream...

Why would anyone write a review about an air chuck? Well I've always used the Accu-Gauge air pressure monitors with the air chuck at the end of the hose and it's great on the road and in the garage. But the Accu-Gauge chuck wears out in no time and fails to make an airtight seal. Accu-Gauge has a lifetime warranty and they always honor it but sending the gauge back gets old really fast. For just a few bucks I've saved myself a lot of hassle with this chuck.
Top quality materials and workmanship. These are not the first purchase for me as I have more of the same items purchased before for use in my professional truck frame and alignment shop. These will serve well day in and day out, they have already proven themselves to me. 44 years experience in the industry.
I had gotten so tired of the cheap air chucks I had that when I saw these while browsing Amazon, I immediately ordered them. Turned out to be a good investment - they are high quality chucks, fit the valve stem perfectly and the clip on version has an extremely good fastening system.
If I need more chucks in the future, this is what I'll order.
The pin that pushes the inner valve in the stem is a trifle large so restricts the amount of air, but it will fill the tire. Works great for stems that only stick out a little bit where the actual wheel interferes with clamping on a standard chuck. This goes straight on...so nothing interferes with its application.
This item as it turns out happens to be a very good product, just so happened I received a defective one but the company made it good by sending me another that was excellent in condition & works very well. Thx to Kai PR. relations was very professional in making it right for their customer.
