I bought this to replace my last Anker cable, which I’ve had since January ‘17. That one survived a year and a half of my fiancé, which is better than the Apple cable that came with her phone (and the Anker cable still works, just a bit finicky).
“But it only lasted a year and a half? There must be better out there, right!”
Look, after 18 month with my fiancé, it has died a noble death, a warrior’s death.
Go, noble einherjar, and charge the phone of Odin (unless he uses android, then try Baldur)
Apple likes to talk about their “environment” where everyone and everything plays nice together! Well, for many things that may be true, but not when you’re dealing with charging cables. You can literally spend two to three thousand dollars on a device, and Apple “generously” includes a 3’ charging cable (which is pretty much useless unless the device sits on a counter with a plug directly above. Then, as if to add insult to injury, the lightning cable is designed with a very small connector, which means if you’re distracted, in a hurry, or if your hand is wet, you’ll likely end up pulling on the wire instead of the connector. Then, (sooner rather than later) the cord will fail. Oh, but Apple to the rescue...they’ll gladly sell you a replacement 3’ cable for $34.00, so the same thing can happen again!
You might say, just purchase an after-market cable and move on. We have, usually with poor result. Cables from big box stores, and even Amazon Basics brand may work for a while, but typically stop charging all together (even those supposedly “Apple Certified”). Quite frustrating for something that should be inherently simple, and is definitely necessary in our digital world.
Enter Anker cables. There was an opportunity to really make a difference, and Anker stood up (literally, and figuratively). We’ve only had our Anker 6’ cable for about a week, but so far we’re most pleased. The cable seems more pliant, and the multi-layer sheathing looks like it will be very protective. The cable connector is not only much more robust, but physically larger, which makes it easier to grasp properly. No problems with our device messaging it’s “not the proper cable either”. iPad/iPhone charging times have been very good!
Time will tell if this experience lasts, but for now this “simple” product seems to be exactly what we need! Oh BTW, to date Anker has been very good about communicating, while offering what seems to be exemplary customer service, and product warranties. Bravo Anker. Do something, and do it well! Help make the Apple environment better, and easier. Are you listening Apple?
UPDATE: After this review I was offered a redesigned version of their charging cords. They arrived and do look to be more durable at the ends where the cord meets the plug. Also they now come with a small case for storage. I will update this after I see how long these last.
Also i'm updating my review to 5 stars based on the amazing customer service and follow through.
Such a disappointing product. I bought a total of 3 of there cables, 2 black and 1 red. I read the reviews and saw that it was a highly rated Amazon product. They lasted a total of 4 months if that. When delivered the quality seemed superior to an Apple charging cord. That’s why I rated the materials so high.
All of them switch between charging and not charging rapidly. My iPhone spazzes making charging sound every second. I have to wiggle the plug or take it out and flip it. It eventually does a continuous charge but breathing on it makes it go through the same loop. Also the red cord is very slow to charge.
These cables are sturdy. Love the extra length as well (Compare to the 3ft standard). For cables that get beaten up by daily use, these are the cables to get. They may be expensive but they should last quite a while, especially with the double braided nylon, these should be able to go through a beating.
I have a 10’ ft anker nylon braid charger cable that I bought awhile ago and still works great. I made the mistake in buying cheaper brands which stopped working. Anker is the best compared to other brands in my opinion and it’s Apple certified. Fast charge and nylon braid cable is thick and great durability especially when you have kids that tend to bend them. Highly recommend!

I love these cables!
I go through charge cables faster than anyone I know. I’m not sure what I’m doing to them (I take care of them, I swear!), but they’re constantly shorting our. I’ve tried buying cheaper ones before and they only lasted a day.
Anker is the only brand that has lasted me about a year, and I love that it comes with a small Velcro strap to make it easier to store in a way that puts the least amount of stress on the wires. A little more than i’d Personally like to spend, but SO worth it!
Update: I contacted Anker and told them about the issue and they sent me a new charger for free. Anker does seem to be a company that stands behind their products.
Upon getting this charger, it felt like a good purchase. It looked really nice because of the braided nylon. $13 for a lightning cable is on the more expensive side for me but it had a lifetime warranty and it was made by Anker so I expected a quality item. I’ve used it for 2 days now - very carefully at that, as I am with all my charger cords but even so, the little plastic near the part that goes into my phone has started to tear. If its going to start breaking after 2 days, I do not know how long the cable will hold up for. I’ve bought cheaper lightning cables, read gas station cables, that’ve lasted longer without any visible problems. This one easily cost me 2-3 times as much as a gas station one too. I may have received a defective item, but Im disappointed to say the least. This was my first purchase from Anker - I’d had heard great things about them and decided to try them out, unfortunately the Anker lightning cable let me down. I expected better than a charger that is already breaking down after 2 days of use from Anker.
Item arrived exactly as described. I’ve only had it for a couple of months but it seems to be very durable thus far. It works great for charging my Apple iPhone 8plus and my new iPad. Charge times are good and comparable to the chargers that originally come with your new phones and iPads. I love the cloth like covering on the cable compared to other brands rubber cables as I’m allergic to natural rubber latex. These cables are safe for people with latex allergy. I contacted the company and they confirmed that they don’t use natural rubber in this product! Yay! They have great customer service too!!
I highly recommend this product!
Bought this to keep mainly at my desk in my anker port when charging my iPad Pro. So far, I'm a fan. I like the thickness of the cord and the charge seems decent enough. I don't think my iPad particularly charges any faster (which is a little disheartening considering I paid around $26 for the port alone) but other devices seem to have a relatively good charge so I can't complain. When I use this cord for my iphone it works a little faster and I like that I can move around my desk with a device plugged in without the fear of ripping it out of the wall. Along with the warranty, I think this product is well worth a try if not a permanent buy.
I have tried ordering so many iPhone charging cables off of Amazon, and they all end up not working after awhile. I have bought an Anker car charging port in the past and I firmly believe it's the best one I've ever had, so I'm excited to see if this one will live up to my expectations. So far so good! I only buy charging cords with nylon braids now because of how durable they are, and this one seems pretty sturdy. I love the color and it charges faster than my old cord did.
I'll update this if it stops working or ends up being worse than I thought, but I hope I've found my new go-to!
