These are surprisingly good for the price. The round thing that you mount onto the wall and the main post are all metal. The camera itself is plastic, but it looks fairly convincing, particularly if you mount it high up where it is impossible to get a really close look at it. The stability of the bracket is pretty decent once it is in place.

Do I think they will last forever? No. I imagine the weather will not be kind to them. If you can, I'd put them in a protected area, out of the way of both the sun and the rain. I did not even try to put the batteries in them. Real security cameras don't have flashing red lights these days, so you are probably better off leaving the batteries out. Besides, if you mount it up high with a ladder, are you really going to get up and change the batteries every few months anyway?

Most of home security is just about making your house a slightly less attractive target than the house down the block. Maybe the cameras are real, maybe they are fake, but why risk it? Just go on to the next one.

A real camera system is an utter pain to put in. You have to fish wires through your walls, and most likely you will not get a clear picture of the bad guy anyway. These provide probably 90% of the deterrence value of a real camera system at a fraction of the price. More importantly, you can install each camera in about 5 minutes if you have a drill.

Installation tip: Get some electrical tape and tape the little wire where it goes into the hole in the mounting pipe. It helps stabilize the camera to keep it from moving and insures the wire won't ever pop out and reveal the camera as a fake.

These dummy security cameras really look real because there are real security cameras that are made and look exactly like them…. and the real ones are made out of plastic as well (what today isn’t made of plastic); but the real ones we have are smaller. You cannot tell the difference in construction though, even up close… but our real ones do not have forward-facing flashing red lights. They are clandestine. The perpetrators never know that they are on camera.

However, what we did was to hide our real cameras and expose the fake ones. That way if some savvy professional crook decides to disable the fake ones somehow, he’d better smile because he will be on the real hidden “Candid Cameras.”

We put two AA Lithium batteries in each dummy. They claim that a couple of plain old alkalines will last at least 6 months. We shall see how long these last.

There have been two home invasions on our block (it’s a long block) in the last year. So, now we have a fake camera system, a real monitored one (Simply Safe), and a good back-up one referred to as “Smith and Wesson.” …. the latter probably being the best deterrent of all.

Love these cameras. I was having problems with people breaking into my unoccupied house. I bought these hoping to prevent that from happening.
They installed easily. Since I have a fenced in yard, no one can get closer than 20 camera and from that distance, so no one can tell they are not real within going in the fence, which is locked and has Warning - No Trespassing and Warning - Video Surveillance signs posted. Even standing directly underneath these cameras, they look realistic. As someone enters the driveway, the flashing red LED catches the eye and serves as a deterrent to would-be thieves and vandals, which is bonus. Since the several weeks I have been using these and posting the signs on the fence, I have had no more issues of people entering the house uninvited. I am very happy with this purchase. Ok - Consider this, Perception is reality and when it comes to dealing with bad guys, lets face it, their not too smart.
These fake cameras look like, and act like the real thing, and the point is, to make the bad guy think he's being watched and recorded.
I use these along with real CCTV cameras that look almost the same as these, so realistically, the bad guy is most likely being watch and recorded by my real ones - he/she just doesn't know which one and therefore the deployment of these cameras worked. An inexpensive solution that works!
I take it a step further, I actually super glue a long piece of black coax cable to the camera mount to make it look even more real. The only down side is the provided surveillance camera warning sticker, they look fake so, go to Lowes or Home Depot and get a better one to put up.
Overall, I love these fake cameras, they are simple, the batteries last forever since all it does is feed a red blinking LED light. I highly recommend them.

These fake cameras look very real complete with flashing red light and power cord as real cameras do. May not fool a professional, but Would definitly fool your average thief!

These are pretty realistic looking, but you definitely want to hang them far out of reach. Their made from fairly flimsy plastic and the top part pops off real easy. That's where you insert the batteries. The blinking red light blinks pretty fast and there's no switch to turn them off; so I would imagine the batteries would die pretty fast. We'll see! Great for the price though!

I bought these to install on my in-law’s home. I’ve installed over 100 ‘real’ cameras over the past 5 years. These pretend cameras look like legit cameras, though perhaps a bit larger than I would prefer. Still, I’m very happy with the results. It took about five minutes to install each device. I installed lithium AA batteries to power the blinking LED in hopes the light will keep working for a year or so... we’ll see!

Received and installed my spiffy new not-quite-a-camera. Arrived as promised, adequately packed to prevent defliction.
This thing certainly looks 98% real, real enough to deter all but the stoopidest/most determined rectums. Along with it you'll find a sticker "Security System CCTV", and 3 adequate screws and anchors in a lil bag. It's light, and easy to install. Overall I'd say that this is a reasonable compromise.
We live in a relatively low-crime area, and already have a good CCTV/alarm system that covers the front porch where stuff is delivered and other areas. We wanted something more to cover a spot where the small flashing light on the "faux" cam enclosure would be a deterrent, plus there's interior cams and alarms on the nearby door/window anywho. Our system has four cameras, records/retains recordings for a while, etc. The monitor shows only four camera outputs, and we wanted a fifth. The cost for that upgrade is a helluva lot more than this almost-a-camera, plus it's an adequate deterrent for where we're putting it, a low-probability area.
Anywho, the bottom line is that this was a simple, inexpensive solution to what otherwise could've been a PITA and cost a lot more. Additionally, an actual camera, where we placed this unit, would have provided us virtually no additional security.
We're not employed or compensated by the seller, we offer our recommendations, or not, honestly, based on actual ownership and use. Only rarely do I give five stars, reserving that rating for those things that are somehow well above average, exceptional, impressive. Four stars, then, is a great rating from us. We got exactly what we paid for, and have no reason to be unhappy with the WALI Bullet. I think you'll like it too.

What a great idea for the cost! I installed these cameras without reading directions, and it took me about 15 min. My neighbors thought I purchased a very expensive set from Costco,,, of course I didn't tell they were fake. They sure look as real if not better than the once that are real. It gives a real impression. I also purchase stickers that put on my windows warning "24 hrs surveillance"

Excellent quality "camera" with a useful and more-functional mount than previous "cameras" like this. These are very realistic-looking, take two AA batteries to power the blinking LED light, and are unobtrusive during the day but intimidating at night. Whenever I look at these blinking demons I'm almost startled by the intimidation factor and have to remind myself they're fake.

My neighbors have asked me about my "security system" and one even apologized for helping himself to my Traeger smoker pellets (saying that I'd surely see the footage on my "cameras").

In my opinion this is one the best things you can do for security.
