the plastic is stiffer than i had expected. it is more plastic than rubbery. and yes, if you do push it in all the way into the usb port, it can be hard to remove. but i push it in just enough to allow my finger nail to slip into the gap and this makes for easier removal. it does what it was designed to do. i use these in the car where i have a 12-volt to usb power bank. when not in use it helps a lot to keep dust away and liquids from accidentally being spilled/splashed into the usb port. my only complaint is about the price. with shipping, these 10 plugs come out to be about $1 each. that is VERY expensive for a tiny piece of plastic. it should be more like $0.25 each.
They're made of hard plastic. They fit perfectly in USB ports and hold nicely. Will definitely keep dust out. The only slightly bad thing is that because the stay in well they are a little tough to get out. The hard plastic is a bit slippery, and since there is bevel on the grip part they just slip right out of your fingers.
At a $1 a piece (after shipping), was a little leery, but now in use, am quite happy. Snugly fits a type A jack and keeps it mostly clean (without building a noteworthy seal, it can't be perfect) with enough of a grip to remove. I might drill a small hole in each and use some small gauge rope/cable to tether it to to the device(s) they are used for. Otherwise quite happy and would buy again if needed.
Excellent Product and Service. Thank you
These plugs will effectively keep dust out of the USB ports not in use. I have had problems with dust before and finally decided to look for something like this. They fit, they stay in place, they're durable.
However, the tapered head on the plug makes it a little difficult to hold them properly to insert or remove them. Hence, not quite 5 stars.

Description
These hard to find covers are perfect for protecting unused USB female ports in our panel mount couplers or any expensive equipment from physical damage, dirt and dust. Made from soft ABS, these covers attach easily and stay in place with a snug friction fit. Color is black.
I have purchased three sets of these covers. They work great, and do not pop out on their own.
I employ these covers in USB 2.0 Type A female ports that go unused on computers, powered hubs, and other devices.
I've seen a lot of computers with USB ports filled to the brim with dust. These are a nice cheep way to try and keep them clean.
I bought these mainly because I was concerned with dust getting into ports that I don't regularly use.
To sum it all up, they block out everything, fit snug and aren't hard to remove at all.
Great, but could be shorter, or at least solid handles (I had to cut them down a bit, to fit in the case that I keep my fast charging device in).
These fit 2.0 USB ports perfectly, but they have trouble with the newer USB 3.0. They will still fit the 3.0s, but you have to force it more than I'd like.
