These chairs are perfect for a non ultralight backpacker, however they aren't heavy by any means. These chairs are for trekking, and are great for it. Not for your dog, not for your 300+ pound self. They fit and support an average semi-athletic person perfectly, no matter height. They may not be the most stable thing in the world, but no backpacking chair is and it's still a heck of a lot better than sitting on a cold rock. So 5 stars it is, especially seeing the price point. I could buy 5 of these for the price of a brand name one, so I'd warrant it deserves 5 stars for it.
Overall, this camping chair is very satisfying. It came with a container whose size was as small as a folding umbrella. I have tried it immediately to a small outdoor activity. Here are the pros and cons:
Pros: The quality of the chair is good: the aluminum shaft is strong and the sewing work of the canvas surface looks decent as well. It is comfortable to sit on it, like you are sitting on a hammock.
cons: It is not really a defect, but be careful if you are very big, due to the ultra light weight design, a huge person may find it too small. I am 5'8'' and the size is definitely fine for me.
Good product, great price! I bought the orange and it weighed in at 1.8lbs. My gf bought the blue and it was 2.2lbs, kinda strange. We used it on a two day backpacking trip and it was worth the extra weight. Easy to setup and take down. My buddy bought a chair at REI for just over $100. The chair was almost identical in design but was .8lbs less weight. The more expensive chair was not worth the extra $75 to me.
Purchased this for a weekend fishing/backpacking trip with friends. It was my first weekend backpacking trip and I didn't want to spend $100 for a similar chair from REI. This fit the bill, although I'm not sure how it will hold up for a long term hike. It worked well for our 4 day camp out, and it was much more comfortable than sitting on the ground or rocks, especially on the cold mornings. It did feel a little wobbly, but so do most of these lite weight chairs.
It folds up nicely to fit in the backpack. The case was nice to have for storing misc small items at camp. All in all, I am happy with the purchase.

These chairs were used for our hiking and camping trip where we had to hike in over a mile over rough terrain. They're very light and take up no room. One thing to consider is that because of their dainty little legs they WILL sink into mud big-time. I resolved this just by putting the edge of my tarp underneath. These chairs are also surprisingly easy to put together although it can be a little tricky pulling the cover over the frame, but not too big of a deal. I was also surprised at how comfy they are. As a not tall person, I probably prefer them to a standard chair-, and they're the perfect height for petting your pup fireside. Lastly, I was extremely impressed that my 200ish lb friend could fit in his chair pretty comfortably.
It arrived and I set it up, and it is SHORT. I'm 4'11" and when sitting in it, my knees are bent at less than 90 degrees. That said, that position is quite comfortable for me. The chair seat itself fits me nicely, which means that it's going to be too small for some people, but then again I'm short, but not super skinny. If you're a similar size to me, you'll probably find this comfy, but lower to the ground than you might expect.
Set-up is a little tricky, but easy once you figure out the way the frame is supposed to snap into place. It takes a little muscle to get the chair cover on, but not too bad.
Lastly, the thing is totally featherweight. If you need a little seat to cart around with you, this will do perfectly weight-wise.
My old portable chair that I use all the time finally broke. I looked at dozens of different ones here on Amazon and at the local store. The reason I bought this one was because of it's build quality, and because it is extremely light weight I am impressed with it's durability ... it is sturdy and strong, very solid. And it takes virtually no effort to open it up. It takes me less than 30 seconds to go from opening the storage bag to sitting in the chair. And the storage back clips on the the bottom of the chair, so it doesn't fly away or get lost .. something my old chair did not have. The material used is some type of mesh. I like it because it never gets hot or sweaty as the air flows through easily. And once it is in the bag it is only about 13 inches long, very small.
I really like this camping chair, for its portability, reasonable pricing, easy set-up, and decent comfort.
I have been thinking about getting one of these chairs at REI, but never did because they are quite pricey. Although I've never used the REI ones, this NiceC chair pretty much does what I would expect from their camping chair..but way more affordable. I was able to set up the chair within 3-4 minutes by straightening up the legs and inserting them into the slots at each corner of the chair. It is light but sturdy enough to support a body. I actually had it set up in my studio when my friend came to visit, so the conclusion is that the chair works for more than just backpacking/hiking! Aside from that, I just kinda wish the NiceC logo is a bit smaller, but would definitely recommend if you need a light-weighed portable chair and does not want to spend $$$$.
This chair is comfortable, that's the first and most important aspect of any camping chair. Not much about camping is comfortable, and this chair is a nice addition to making it a bit easier. Sure, there are more cushioned and luxurious chairs out there, but I want a chair that is also small so it can be packed in my car (we mostly car camp) easily and save space (there are 4 in my family, so our old chairs which are bulky take up a lot of room). Also I appreciate how nice and comfortable it is behind my legs. It doesn’t dig into your legs right behind your knees like a lot of other chairs. It kind of feels like a hammock, the chair hugs my body a bit, and I'm kinda on an angle.
The chair sets up in under a minute, the parts all bungy and snap together, and the chair cover slips over without too much exertion needed.
The 2 pockets on the sides are great, I use one for tools (light, swiss army knife, etc) and the other for a drink.
I'll be getting 3 more for the rest of the family!
