I researched the heck out of these ladders before i decided which to buy. The consensus out there is that little giant is overpriced and Werner etc are just as good. Now that I've had this ladder for several months, if it got stolen tomorrow I would immediately order the exact same one without the slightest hesitation. I would not even consider the Werner or any others, even at half the price. The reason? The latches and hinges! Absolutely worth the extra money, omg! It makes it so much easier to work with.
Comparisons aside, I freakin' LOVE this ladder. I bought the 5 step 22ft version despite many qualms about extra weight, and I'm glad I did. Honestly this ladder is not difficult to handle. I'm a 5'7" 155lb out of shape nerd who by no means handles these things all the time - but I find it easier to handle than a normal 6ft fiberglass ladder. It's shorter than a normal 6ft ladder, which makes it easier to maneuver without hitting the tops of door frames and turning it around tight corners. As far as picking it up, just bend down slightly and put your arm through whichever step it's near so that your shoulder bears the entire weight and your arms are just to guide it, then lift slightly with your legs and you're off! I can carry it around that for 10 minutes straight without problem. Once it's set up, to move it just stand underneath it and put a hand on each side then lift, walk it to where it needs to be - easy! The extra weight, of the ladder in general as well as with the 22ft over the 17ft version, has not been nearly the issue I worried it would be.
Another huge benefit of this ladder is stability. Omg it's stable. This has revolutionized my laddering - I regularly make stretches on this that would be suicidal on a normal ladder, but feel totally fine on this - and I don't like heights either mind you.
All in all this is one of those purchases I've made that just FEEL so good because even with doubts despite all the research it's turned out to be completely justified and totally worth it! If you're buying a ladder, seriously just get this. If you really can't afford it then get the Werner at least, but if you can eat hot dogs for the last week of the month or whatever to stretch the budget and afford this, I'd do it again.
..
I watched and waited a very long time before buying this ladder.... and the only thing I am sorry about is waiting so long to buy the best.
I have a small home-based handyman / property rehab business here in Central FL and this ladder paid for itself on the first job as far as I am concerned.
I purchased the 22' and it fits just fine in the 6' bed of my Silverado....no need for ladder racks and this ladder is ten times more stable than regular extension or A- frame ladders. Love the ability to make one leg vertical and the other at a 45 to get up close and personal in instances where you don't want to be standing sideways to the work ( like on a conventional A-frame )....such as cleaning gutters or repairing fascia boards, detail painting, etc.
Like I said, my only regret is not getting this ladder sooner. I am MUCH more relaxed working at reasonable heights and this helps tremendously with the quality of my work. The A frame alone goes easily high enough for me to paint and service 12' ceilings with a very, very stable platform.
I am a big guy 6'1" 250 lbs and this thing is as solid as a rock. Be sure to get the accessory platform for this ladder.....I bought both and its the best ~$300.00 that I've spent in a long time.
I'll never buy or own another ladder. Ever.
This ladder can be a bit frighteningly loud (my spouse and pets hate when the latches clack into place), and a bit heavy, but it is a very versatile and when extended very tall ladder. Very sturdy and adjustable and you never have any doubts about its stability once those super duty latches click in. I don't think it's a ladder you are going to swing around and extend one-handed like guys in the Little Giant promo videos but realistically it is as easy to operate as I could imagine a big sturdy ladder being. Nice!
The only real concern I have with this ladder is you could very easily get a finger or foot stuck between the foot rails and some of the welded support bars when extending it. That is to say, by nature of its design, it would be easy to get caught between the two layers as they slide past each other when you extend the ladder. Not the ladder's fault but wanted to add the warning.
I bought this to use at my son's new house to prepare it to move in. I was reluctant buying this due to some of the reviews on this ladder. Obviously those were written by competition trying to get you to buy their product and not this ladder. I am very handy and use ladders often. I was absolutely impressed with this ladder. The later was so versatile that I was able to use it for many things and each of those worked very well. The ladder is very stable when used fully extended and was not wobbly as described by others and I am not a small man. In the "A" design and even in the offset "A" shape, to get close to windows and walls, this ladder was steady as a rock. In the "A" shape the ladder is designed so the extension rungs and the rungs of the parts that do not move align perfectly to make standing on the rungs much more comfortable than just standing on one rung. The ladder is easy to adjust, especially after watching the video at their website. The ladder seemed heavier than I expected but the wheels allowed you to move the ladder to your work location without carrying it. They even rolled well over the lawn! The ladder is constructed very well and appears to be something that will last him a lifetime. I have a ladder that folds into four pieces and up until using this one I thought that was the best and most versatile ladder. I wish they had this one available when I bought that one many years ago. I would buy this ladder again and I recommend it to anyone looking for a versatile and easy to use ladder.
Listed at 38 lbs for the 22 footer, this felt much heavier when I was lugging it around the house. Thank goodness mine came with the wheels. I've own my share of Werner aluminum extension and folding ladders, and this Little Giant is a great ladder by all means. But it is not my go to ladder because of the weight. Ironically, the weight of this ladder makes this ladder feel more stable and secure when you're on it. When you're moving and shifting around on the Little Giant, the ladder is rock solid. A good feeling! You know what I mean when you've own those aluminum ladder :-) I love the fact that another person can climb on the other side when the ladder is in the V mode. I know this ladder can be folded in various configurations but I've only used it as an extension and V mode. If you're using this ladder for cleaning gutters like I did, I highly recommend purchasing the Ladder Max stand off. This gadget will allow the weight of the ladder to rest of the roof rather than the gutter. Overall, highly recommended but know that the weight can be an issue for some people.

This review refers mostly to customer service from the Little Giant company. I purchased this ladder, then discovered there is another model that has ratchet leveling devices on the legs. That is what I really want . I contacted Little Giant about the possibility of upgrading by adding on ratchet levelers. After two contacts with no return calls from Little Giant, I returned this ladder to Amazon and ordered the model with Ratchet levelers. I have not used a Little Giant ladder yet, as my return and new purchase are in process, but the ladder appears to be one that can do many functions I was unable to do with a regular ladder. The first use of the ladder will be one outside my home where I know I will need the use of the ratchet levelers in order to be safe.
For a ladder known for being heavy, this was much lighter than i thought it would be. Works great. I've used it on a stair case with a plank, to get on roof tops, and i used the included brackets to make two a-frame ladders along with my plank to hang sheet rock. Very solid and durable. Locks work great and it's easy to convert into whatever you want. Breaks down to around 5 feet tall so it fits into my car. Great ladder
I got this ladder because the new house I purchased had high ceilings and the smoke detectors are up higher than a step ladder can lend access to. I also have to deal with cleaning out the gutters and install/maintain security cameras outside, so I opted for this ladder so I could have an "all in one" instead of having to have multiple different ladders. This thing is heavy, but it is very solid and secure. I felt very comfortable climbing up to neck-breaking heights on this thing once I had it put in place. For what I have used it for since I got it, I would definitely say it is worth the money. There are no cons to this ladder other than its weight, but that is what makes it so sturdy and stable, so you can't even really complain about that.
I have owned a smaller version of a Little Giant Ladder. They store easily in the garage. My original ladder is the 17 ft size and I had ordered it because I was concerned with the weight. No problem. So since I have a higher roof I ordered a 26 foot Revolution ladder. This ladder is heavier but is still manageable with one person (and I am not that big). It has wheels that work well on concrete (not on grass of course). This ladder is very tall in its A frame stance and is very stable. I was not able to clean, paint, or clean gutters easily before. No problem now. The base is wide enough to significantly add to the stability. I continue to like the Little Giant build of their ladders and the design features that make them easy to set up and take down. Even this ladder easily stores in my garage. I have had extension ladders before that either had to be hung up on the ceiling which makes them very difficult to take down when you need them or they lay on the floor along one whole wall of the garage and take up way too much room. This ladder easily stores vertically in the upright collapsed configuration. Little Giant does it again.
Why didn't I get this ladder to begin with! Ughhh!! So I've got a 6 ft, and a 8 ft ladder but at the new house there was no way up on the roof to do my best Clark Griswold imitations without an extension ladder. I started shopping ladders and saw this little giant. The many functions was really what attracted me, our ceilings inside are very high, and there are several lights above a staircase which cant be reached either. I was able to get on the roof, load up all the Christmas lights, then change some light bulbs inside on the staircase, and then go back out and put up more Christmas lights, the fish some cable in the attic all with one ladder! It is a heavier ladder than either my 6 or 8 foot, as to be expected but the wheels make it very easy to transport to and from jobs. Also when it is fully extended as an extension ladder it can get a little unwieldy when returning it back to Mother Earth, using it more I figure will let me get better at that - Christmas lights have to come down sometime.
