This is a well made fake camera. Only thing is, make sure that you don't put batteries in it. A blinking red light below the lens will only draw attention to the fact that its fake (no real security cameras have a blinking red light....) Also, I would recommend replacing the black rubber tube that simulates the wire with an actual black 2 conductor wire like one from an old laptop power supply; this will make it more believable to experienced criminals who are looking closely at it.
Well both of the neighbors right next door vehicles got broken into and me and my wife's were fine. The next morning the police officer knocked on door and asked if they could review the footage on my camera lol. The camera sits on the corner of my house aiming at driveway. It has a bright red flashing light and a fake wire coming out of it. Looks pretty real. Fooled the cops and friends.

My husband and I were not sure what to expect when we ordered this due to the inexpensive cost. We were pleasantly surprised when we received our package. The Dummy Fake Surveillance Security Camera looks and feels realistic and is quite durable. It comes with the receptacle, screws and wall support and was extremely easy to install. It is powered by two AA batteries for the red LED light but we opted not to utilize that feature as we read that real surveillance cameras don't have a blinking light. We felt it may draw attention. I definitely recommend this product if you are looking to deter people from coming onto your property.
I took nail polish remover to the white labeling on the side of the camera "Security camera" to remove it; made it more realistic. I also took Stranded Black copper wire, (0.49 cent a ft at Lowes) and created 3 wires on the camera to make it more realistic. All real surveillance cameras have 3-4 wires and no labeling. Also don't use the red light, true camera systems don't have them!

The product was great for price and worked well once set up. The screw that holds the camera up was not working well, I had to superglue security camera into the position. I had to do this to 2 cameras. Other than that I was totally satisfied for the price and they look from a distance like real cameras! Also, realize they are solar powered. I noticed one camera is not getting enough light so red light does not stay on all night.
Very short review time: It does exactly as is advertised. This is a solid, well made "fake" camera that is perfect for deterring potential thieves. If you live in a bad neighborhood like I do, this is a must have item. It looks just like a real camera, especially from far away. The solar powered red LED light is bright and can be seen from a great distance away. I put a couple AA-batteries in this, screwed it into the ledge of my porch, and I haven't needed to touch it since. The solar panel clearly works to keep this thing powered, as it's been going strong for months now.
It is a little rusted after some weather, but I expected this and it's not a problem for me.
I recommend this product, and I recommend buying it along with a "No Trespassing" sign of some kind as a deterrent.

Real looking. My neighbor, a retired detective, asked if it was real or fake, so I guess if he couldn't tell for sure, then a potential intruded can't either. My only complaint is that it eats batteries, two a month on average. They're cheap enough, just a pain hauling out the ladder every time to change them out.
Like many others, I didn't install batteries as I agree that its useless to do so - flashing lights are not realistic and not needed. I did not add more fake wires, as I do not see the point at all for it to serve the purpose. I used acetone to wipe off the writing on the side of the hood, as I prefer an all black look. Once I decide where I will put a 2nd one, I will order another of these.
Caught kids throwing rocks at my home. They broke my window in back. Video taped them with my iphone but told them I had seen them with my camera in back. They did not see it then confessed to their parents and parents paid for my window. Win! Win! Window!
