It has an Optical zoom. A feature I find impossible to find on cameras that are at this price range. The advantage of an optical zoom is the crystal clear picture when zooming in. A digital zoom gets more and more pixelized as you zoom in. Not so with an Optical zoom. Wait a few seconds for the focus to adjust to the new zoom and you have a beautiful picture. So, if I zoom in on the street, I can get license plates of cars going by. If I zoom out, I get a wider field of view. All in crisp clear focus.
It has an automatic focus. If I change a setting, like the zoom, I just wait 3 to 5 seconds and the picture is in perfect focus.
This camera pans more than 360 degrees… significantly more than 360 degrees. So wherever I mount this guy, it is not going to have a blind spot.
The tilt of this camera actually is able to tilt up slightly. Slight enough that I can see the tops of my trees if I want. That is very unusual for a PTZ camera. It is also a feature I wish my other PTZ cameras had. There has been many a time on my other PTZ cameras, that I needed to tilt up slightly and I was at the camera’s up limit. This camera gives me a little extra that I am sure will come in handy.
Two way sound is a great feature. I can listen as well as watch what is going on outside. If I need to, I can just hit the microphone on the App and I can talk to the people out there. The talking part is not a feature I expect to use a lot, but the sound feature is great. One of my other outdoor digital cameras has an input for a microphone, but none of them came with a built in microphone, or built in speaker. Thumbs up SV3C!
I put a 256GB Class 10 SD card in this camera. The camera description says it only handles up to 128GB, but so far it does not have an issue with the 256GB card. It formatted it fine, it shows the correct capacity, and it records to it without a problem. If I do have an issue down the road with it, I will just say “my bad” and replace it, but for now, I am keeping the 256GB in there.
This is my 3rd SV3C camera. It has the quality and great features I have come to expect from this company. The housing is metal…not cheap plastic. It has a great picture, day or night. It is priced within my price bracket and it provides me with features I normally can’t afford.
I did not intend to write a book here, but I guess I did…lol I am excited about this addition to my cameras and I can’t believe I got all these features for this price!!
This is a great IP camera. I've tested this camera for about 2 weeks and can say that it has nice image clarity and good night vision. I liked the easy flexible setup from my iPhone and PC. I am replacing my 4 six year old outdoor cameras. I only bought 1 at first because the price seemed to low the cameras it was replacing cost over 200.00 each. These are 2.4ghz cameras, so I loaded the camHi app on my iPhone and hooked my phone to the 2.4ghz of my router and then connected a Ethernet cable to the cameras ethernet connection. I used CamHi to scan for the new camera and found its ethernet address. While leaving it plugged into the cable, I went to the IP address with the my Firefox web browser. I went to the network/wireless configuration web page and configured wifi there. After disconnecting the ethernet and power cycling the camera it connected to the wifi network. From there I scanned for it in my HiP2P Client and configured it. Installed the Micro SD card which required open the bottom cover using a small phillips to unscrew the 2 screws holding the cover in place, Slide the micro SD card in and click it into place. After installing and formatting the card using the CamHi app and testing one I bought 3 more. See my photos from each Cam.
Mounting is easy and the only down side was what to do with all the cables. These SV3C cameras are great and I suspect I'll be purchasing more of them in the future.
I recently purchased this camera from Amazon and am very satisfied with its performance.
This camera works very well.
I added a 128GB SD card for recording.
I have it setup for 24 hour scheduled recordings and motion alarm recordings.
If a motion alarm occurs, I get an email with a timestamped photo.
If a car pulls in my driveway it takes a snapshot and records 15 seconds of activity.
Because I have the camera constantly recording:
- I can use the time registered time on the photo and display all activity before and after the alarm event occurred.
The snapshot taken is so detailed, I can read the license plate.
Snowstorms trigger the motion alerts. The snapshot of the blowing snow looks like comets.
I tried lowering sensitivity to stop these motion alerts, but then I lost all motion alerts.
So, if I get too many motion alerts due to snowstorms, I turn off the motion alerts from my IPHONE.
Also, I setup my 8 presets to cover the full width of my yard.
This allows me to scan my yard rapidly after a motion alarm.
I have tested it with IPHONE, ANDROID tablet and Windows.
I am using the following software:
- IPHONE IP Cam Viewer Pro on IPHONE and ANDROID (Does not support playback from SD card)
- CamHi on IPHONE (Does not support playback from SD card)
- Safari on IPHONE (Does not support playback from SD card)
- HiP2P Client on Windows 10. (Supports playback from SD card);(Uses access via UID)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer (Supports playback from SD card)
- Microsoft Edge (Does not support playback from SD card)
None of the mobile apps that I have tried support playback of recordings.
I sent a few questions to the SV3C PROFESSIONAL team, and they responded very quickly with the answers.
I wanted was a reasonably priced camera that takes a photo and video if someone approaches my house.
This camera and associated software accomplishes my needs.
All in all I am very impressed with this camera and the SV3C PROFESSIONAL team.
For the price point these are awesome! Bought the fixed version and it was very impressive. Just wished I could move it. So i upgraded and I tried the 5x optical movable camera and wow.
The key to these cameras is you have to realize your not paying for a high end camera. You have to look at what you get for the money. We test jet engines where I work and we use a professional grade 44x optical camera to watch them from a safe distance. The camera costs 100x more than this Sv3C version and I would say when your not zooming I have very much the same picture as the professional one we use. When I zoom on the sv3c yes it is a tad slow and takes a few seconds to focus but.. who cares..... I din't pay 10k for it. It's a very very good value for $150.00
Do yourself a favor and try it. Amazon has a great return policy so you have nothing to lose.
Just make sure you use the hard wire connection to set it up next to your router for the first time.
Then after you connect to it use the camhi app to enable wireless after you find your main wireless connection.
The first camera took 15 minutes to figure out the settings and now each other one only takes a few minutes once you know the secret.
Also...... It uses 2.4ghz - make sure you get a dual band router so your cameras do not hog bandwidth around your house. My cameras are on 2.4 ghz and my other devices are on the 5ghz band.
You could notice some slowing of your router if its a low end single band router and you have a lot of cameras.
Get the 4 antenna gaming router netgear ~ also off amazon... and save yourself some headache.
I will update on longevity as it ages or I have issues.
For now it's a keeper.

Picture quality of the camera is quite good. Sometimes takes a few seconds to auto focus, but manageable. Installation was not as straight-forward as I would have liked. Took a few attempts to get the camera installed, and then only after I completed the installation on my PC. Motion detection is difficult to adjust. I had the sensativity set very low and the camera was still alarming frequently, caused by snow and rain. I opted to turn the motion detection completely off as it was too annoying. Setting up the email was also a challenge. Initially could not get it to work at all, however tech support sent me some information about setting it up and I was able to get the email notification set up easily. The instructions tech support sent me should have been included with the camera or readily available on their web site as it made the email set up very easy.... but without these instructions it was impossible. Tech support was very good, very prompt in getting back to me and provided me with a lot of useful and helpful information. I bought this camera to replace one that had died, and this camera is far superior to to one I had previously. I would recommend this camera if you are looking for a budget priced wireless ip camera.
Nice camera and works great.Have it for security purposes in our fenced back yard. We were so impressed with the first one, we bought another for the front yard. It offers me high quality video so I can see the details of my house. It’s very nice for me to put in my backyard to use when my kids play outside, and night vision plus motion detection can help me know when someone in my backyard at night,live safety.

Video quality is amazing,both day and night image are super clear.Espcially the night vision,it covers more area,and camera switches from day to night vision automatically.Which is a nice feature.

We ordered two cameras and had to return one as the SD port was not reading and the audio out on the microphone was also not working. The one we got as a replacement was definitely different from the others. It included a felt piece attachment on the back as well as a noticeable speaker on the outside of the camera. It also included packaging materials that the other ones did not such as a guide piece for the installation. I can only come to the conclusion that this was likely an updated model yet the serial number was the same as the other one? It was very strange indeed. So far, I find it a little unsettling that one was defective. I suspect that they may be selling refurbs but I cannot say for sure. Other than that, the camera works well and is of a good quality but am worried that it will fail after some usage.
The camera installation is pretty easy. Just follow the directions...but here is the "rub" (the only downside I can identify and the reason for 4 stars)...the instruction manual is AWFUL. You have to download any real instructions or information and finding the correct one need is a challenge (the website lists about a dozen different guides). The company is located in China so don't expect any rapid responses. The information manuals are obviously written by someone with a limited knowledge of English but they are usable. Also, some Internet Security software, like Norton, will identify the download website as "Dangerous" blocking it completely. Two small corrections would give the camera 5 Stars: have a native English speaker rewrite the manuals and make a full manual available on Amazon for download so you don't have to go searching for information.
Now the upside...The Pan, Tilt, Zoom features work very well. The picture is sharp and clear. The lights on the 3 light model appear to be true infrared. The camera is a bit difficult to control with a phone because everything is done by swiping. I found it easier to set up the ip camera viewer and use the push buttons, but that is just me. Use an SD card for your videos...recommend the 128gb size to get the most on the card. This camera allows for continuous recording so you can set it up to record always or just on movement. If you record always, it will "eat up" your SD card storage very fast because of the quality but this is adjustable, too. The WIFI "pull strength" is very good and gives plenty of range.
All things considered, I recommend this camera and will buy a few more for full surveillance.
First off this camera is a very good deal price wise.It has solid quality construction and the camera viewing clarity is excellent.The pan,tilt,zoom is smooth and night vision does not disappoint.I had a little difficulty in setting up the remote viewing.I used my old cameras port setting of 58 but read where this camera works in the 1024 port range on up.
The Camhi mobile software is ok but uses a lot of battery on my phone.I have better results overall using Robert Cho's IP Cam viewer which I have setup for 6 different brand cameras.It is perhaps the best most versatile IP camera viewer available.
Pros: Excellent pricing,good value,quality construction.Exceptional clarity on viewing day and night time.Would buy again.Make a great replacement for an older camera/upgrade.
Cons:As with most China cameras the operational software is lacking.
