It’s smaller than I thought and very easy to setup. Once you download the app, register an account, and you can add the device. You will need WiFi password so the it can connect to your WiFi. I used to have one from Home Depot to Control the lamp in my living room. But it’s difficult to setup. With this new plug, it’s so much easier and looks better. Will consider to get few more.
I started getting into the intelligent home space as I am pretty averse to allowing my devices talk to the outside world. I bought these as they were a special and discounted by approximately $9. I plugged them into my network and the setup was relatively easy. Simply download the app, plug the units into power and stand nearby. Once connected you can attach it to your wireless network and off you go. I recommend naming them something easy (I used corporate style naming conventions and this was tough for Alexa to understand.) Eventually I renamed them to other names that were simple but Alexa did finally catch on of how to pronounce more IT based naming conventions - I just got tired of pronouncing them the way I needed to in order to get them to work.
So setup is nice, however here is the problem if someone doesn't have the app (like a Significant Other) then they have to manually turn on the lights. I also have to lock the switches on lamps / lights so that no one turns them off. Using Alexa with friendly names for the devices made it much easier.
Also if you're using these in elevated spaces and need to ever manually use them its a little tough. Wall sockets are either low to the ground or near the ceiling, this becomes a task if you don't have Alexa or your phone handy when turning on the device that is attached youre either bending low in the dark (if its for lights) or reaching really high to point of getting a ladder.
I used these as timer devices as well when I travel. The app is OK in terms of scheduling, but I wish you could do more intelligence like schedule date schedules, right now it only does M-S and then at designated times. Also in order for you to turn off lights you have to make another schedule to do that. I would think that you can easily build an app that says from this time to this time run the lights and from say Oct 1 - Oct 3. This simplifies making travel schedules etc if you need to use these as a theft deterrent.
The devices work fine with power strips as well. I use them for working with multiple lights and I have one even attached to a bulb to outlet pug for my garage. Overall it was an easy setup and straight forward. I would recommend these, but I hope in the future that the app becomes more robust so that you can get creative with the schedules and travel plans. One note - if you use any type of wall outlet that has more that the typical 2 plugs (like the dense 6 power outlets) or the Strip outlets these have a circumference of about 1.5 inches from the center of the plug, so you might have issues sacrificing a outlet. they are fairly large as the technology is still somewhat young.
Setup - 4 Stars
Usability - 4 Stars
Iphone App - 4 Stars
Durability - TBD but they look like they will hold up so 4 Stars
Once I got these all plugged in and ready to use I love them. Only thing is with the Round ones is they are kind of big. I have a Power strip with a Big tick plug and it was a tight fit getting this Wifi thing to fit under my Chunky power strip cord. It worked but not the best fit.
Besides the bulky size these things work great. Remember Clap on? These are so much better and cooler. I want all my lights to be hooked up to these plugs.
I just received my EFUN outlet plug. The setup was so simple. The device itself is so small and convenient to work. I love how I can command Alexa to turn my lights on or off. I do recommend this product to anyone who wants to turn there home into a smart home. You can plug in anything you want into the socket and command Alexa to turn on or off that pacific device. I hope my review helps a bit. 😊👍😊
Works flawlessly every time with Alexa, very easy to set up and use and having the on/off touch button which doubles as the 'wi-fi connected' indicator is a good idea and shows thought in design

Description
EFUN SH330W 4 PACK Wi-Fi Smart Plug Outlet,No Hub Required,Overload Protection,Fire Retardant Material,Space Saving,Works with Alexa and Google Assistant
So full disclosure I got these because they were the cheapest 4 pack of smart outlets I could find at the time and wanted to test them out before buying either more or a more expensive product. I use them mostly for desk fans (and during the holidays used them for my Christmas lights) as well as one “dumb” lamp in my apartment that doesn’t have smart bulbs. While these outlets are not Apple home kit compatible they do work very well with Alexa. The app slows you to name them whatever you want and then Alexa identifies them by that ( “Alexa turn on bedroom fan” triggers the outlet my fan plugs into) so no awkward naming and such. The annoying thing is the outlets are very large and on a power strip take up huge amounts of space. Since they are round putting them nex to each other doesn’t help. On my standard power strip with two of these plugged in they take up 5 ports which is a bit much. Aside from that about 3 months in 1/4 outlets just stopped working. Won’t light up won’t make or connect a WiFi just says offline in the app. Annoying but at 4/30$ they were still worth it. Oh also if your WiFi name changes or you get a new router etc getting them to go back into the pair mode was a bit hard and hard to find a guide etc online overall solid and good value for the money. I’ll prob end up ordering more of these just because I have them now so getting another brand would mean another app to manually control them
Great product for the price & no hub required. Simple plug & play installation instructions. Its mobile app allows timer and scheduling. Remote control feature on the app allowed me to turn on/off the appliances/electronics via mobile app while I was away from home. Can be used with Echo Dot via Smart Home Link by simply using commands like "Alexa, turn off espresso machine". 1-15/16" in diameter, does not block the other outlet but only one can be used on one outlet due to limited space.
I purchased these four months ago, and thought they were a great value. All four connected without any issues. I was able to name them, set schedules, and integrate them with Alexa fairly easily. They all worked flawlessly even when used outdoors (protected under porches).
I then upgraded my WI-FI and installed a new AT&T dual band router. The router uses the same name and password for 2.4GHZ and 5GHZ. I was able to connect my TVs, computers, phones, thermostats, etc. without any problem. They were all able to use the band that worked best for them without any special setup steps. The EFUN outlets were a different story.
I tried over and over to connect these by using other smart outlet's instructions (because you can't get info on these), and they would not work. I was about to throw these in the trash when I came across a competitor's video that explained that you have to have the device you are using to set these up connected to a 2.4GHZ WI-FI. My phone that I was using to set these up automatically connected to the 5GHZ band, and I would get an error message after a long attempt for the app to connect them. I went into the configuration for the router and renamed the 5GHZ band, my phone was then connected to the 2.4GHZ band. I plugged in all four outlets, pressed the button until the blue light was flashing fast, went through the add a device step in the Smart Life App, and all four connected to the WI-FI right away.
I hope this helps someone. I spent more effort on these thing than they are worth to figure this out.
I bought this because we have a couple of the TP link smart plugs at home. I wanted to expand and install a couple more around the house so we gave E-Fun a try as the price is right compared to TP link. These plugs are awesome because it does the work like the TP Link. In fact, it was smaller than our TP link smart plugs. TP link would take up the whole outlet (2 plug in on the wall) leaving us with one outlet plug(that one smart plug outlet). However, with the efun smart plug I could plug two of these onto the outlet on the wall with no problem because they are so small. The app was easy to use and to install on our phone. I wish these smart plug came in different colors.
bought again. Great!
