I have been using a TENS machine for several years to relieve back and knee pain. I paid well over $100 for my original machine which finally wore out. Found this one for far less and it works just as well.
There are only two differences (other than the significant savings.) One is that there is no continuous mode - you can set a timer for up to an hour. The other difference is that you can't set A and B to different functions/intensity. Whatever you set up for one is also set for the other. On the more expensive machine, I could set one of the sides lower for more sensitive areas. This is not a dealbreaker for me especially since I could buy 4 of these for what I paid for the other. If this becomes an issue, I'll just purchase a 2nd unit so that I can set different modes or intensities.
This unit is also quite a bit smaller and will fit well in my pocket so I can stay mobile while using it.
Overall, I'm pleased with the unit - it does what it is supposed to do.

I love this gadget! I’ve been dealing w killer Charlie-Horses for decades & the very annoying Restless Leg Syndrome began 5 years ago. It’s exhausting to have these chronic issues almost every night. This takes the ache out of restless legs & I put the pads on after a severe Charlie-horse episode so the muscles don’t continue to seize up throughout the night It’s awesome! I bought a different brand a few years ago & was thrilled how well it worked, but for the roughly the same price, this one is so much better. It doesn’t operate on batteries (yay!) it’s got an automatic timer (convenient!). It has different modes & I can use 1 set of pads for 1 leg or hook up 2 sets & do both legs at the same time. I hesitated to order this model because I was afraid it would be complicated & in the middle of the night i need it to be super simple. This is sooo simple. Plus the screen is back lit, so I don’t have to turn on the lights to adjust the settings. I was skeptical 2 years ago when I ordered my original one, it was really basic, but effective. AUVON TENS is even better. I’ve used them on my shoulder, lower back, forearm & calves. I know it’s a weird concept, but electrical muscle stimulation gadgets are wonderful & you’re not going to electrocute yourself or anything - the lowest setting is barely noticeable & the highest is way too strong for me, but that’s easy to figure out. Whether you buy this model it or some other - these gadgets are awesome... this one happens to be much more awesome than I expected!
I've used TENS units with replaceable batteries for years. I have a collection of rechargeable batteries and chargers just for the TENS 7000 units. That works ok, but this unit eliminates all that hassle, plus it has some great preset settings that have worked just fine for me. Although the unit will power up two leads (four pads) at once, I bought two units for more flexibility during use. Can't say enough about how well this works and it comes with charger, cables, pads, all that. The pads are the garden variety easily available in many shapes and sizes. With no batteries to replace, this is really an inexpensive unit to operate.
I've had this for several months & so far it's turned out to be an excellent product for the money. the case is rather cheap in appearance & feel but light in weight. I would compare this with the empi's strength that costs $200+ anytime. I couldn't afford to replace the Empi & this one is perfect. also, the leads that comes with it are the best I've ever used. the empi's were stiff, peeled apart & cracked easily. the ones with this is of a higher supple quality with no splittiting of the leads unless you choose to pull them apart. if I had to choose again between this or the empi, this is the one I'd choose. more expensive doesn't mean better quality. the seller & amazon's shipping was excellent if not quicker.

Maintenance and Care

Update; Customer service was excellent and sent a new unit to me in a few days from receiving my note. They checked in to make sure it arrived.
I had bought a different unit the day this one died, because I can’t be without one because of shoulder tip pain. The other new one is fine, with the one advantage that it has pads that snap on. These for the Auvon slip in to make the connection with the wires, and, if you are active, get snagged and come loose more easily than the snap on ones. Just something to consider.
Alll in all this Auvon is a good machine at a good price. I’ll post updates if needed in the remainder of time it is under warranty.
LOVED this unit...it saved me when I had shoulder tip cramping pain that had me at wits end. The pain was unbearable, but within a few days of constant use and also a simultaneous hot pad, the pain abated.
BUT, after days working on the garden and the pain returning, I turned again to my trusty Auvon TENS. Fully charged, there is something wrong. The display doesn’t work and is fading away. I can’t use it because I can’t telk where the prompt is for level, type, and time.
I’m miseable and had counted on this unit to be there, but it’s not.
I’ve contacted them because I’m only 6 months into a year warranty. THIS will be the true test...if they can get me another quickly, or if they fiddle-fart around and make excuses. I will update as soon as I hear.
This tens unit has just the right amount of power behind it, small size and features to make it a must-have for those with MS, muscle or nerve pain. I have used the high-end medical units available from neurologists so I have some experience to compare this with. The housing isn't as nice as some of the higher-end commercial units, but the electrical configuration options are comparable. This very small-sized and lightweight unit is very portable. You can even wear it when you work or walk as it is unnoticeable. The unit does fit in a pocket or on a belt.
I like that I can change between different patterns and that I have two output channels. This works great for lower back pain, pinched nerves and for residual pain from cramping in the legs, forearms, and wrists. For those who live with neuropathy, this type of therapy is a nice option as it allows you to get some comfort and treat nerve pain exactly where it needs to be treated without taking medication.
The best part about this product is that results are evident in a short amount of time. I can get satisfactory results with each use. Sometimes I put it on low and just run it for 30 to 40 minutes while I read, work on the computer or watch tv. Other times I use it for only 5 to 10 minutes. It just depends on where it needs to be used and what setting I go with.
The pads are comfortable--not overly sticky or gooey but nonetheless result in excellent adhesion. They will not last long if you treat yourself often, so stock up. If you clean your treatment site thoroughly, then you will get anywhere from 15 to 20 treatments from a pair of pads (you use two pads at a time for each channel|circuit). When finished just re-apply them to the pads holders and apply drops of water on the pads before next use will help them become sticky again.
I believe that this is a quality product and would not hesitate to recommend it. This device is inexpensive and practical but you should expect to buy more pads than the four that come with it.
Best $27 ever spent. This little machine is powerful and works wonders on my back and shoulder. When I got mine a few other people in my office were also suffering with back and or other issues. They tried mine and the next day two people purchased one for themselves and one girl for her husband! We all use it often. Would recommend to anyone who suffers from pain or discomfort especially at work, it's small and powerful. Just make sure you buy a tube of the gel, it helps a lot and keep the pads on the plastic things they give you when not in use and they will last long. If I had one criticism it would be that it should come with at least a small tube of the gel, it really is nevesssry to keep pads working and sticking properly.
Since I have been released from care by my chiropractor, who followed her manipulation therapy by electrode therapy I decided to buy this at their office suggestion. I was told it wouldn't be the same experience since the office was a professional machine. This is my first purchase and I love this little unit.It gets 16 different modes and the rechargeable battery seems last quite long time. I was surprised it has so much power available in the selection modes to increase the output of the massage or whatever mode I select. It does a good job at keeping my muscles loose and taking away the aches. I packed it for I took a trip to see my toddler grandbaby and was very happy it worked so well at keeping me limber enough to play on the floor and pick him up and clean the house too! I am considering giving this as Christmas gifts this year. Thank you for making a terrific product that is easy to use.
This was the first time i purchased a TENs unit. I am familiar with them and with a ornery back, I thought i better get it. I was getting spasm as them come infrequently, but when they do it is with intensity. It came before i was going to a massage appointment and i absolutely love it. It help with the spasm. My husband also used it b/c he had siactic nerve pain. So I placed it on him and he swears how well it works. I may get a 2nd one just so we have our own! I read the low rated reviews but 84% of the reviews were good. So that did it for me. I do recommend if you need. I waited too long to get one.
