I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this, and many of the negative reviews mentioned how there is a constant light that emits from the unit when it is fully off. I considered not purchasing the unit as I'm the type of person who needs a pitch black room to sleep.
I purchased the unit anyway, and I do not regret it. I immediately noticed the light that stays on when the unit is off, and I decided that I could fix that. WARNING: I do not recommend that you do this as it may void your warranty. I felt around the bottom and found four screw holes in the rubber pad. I peeled back the pad in those spots and unscrewed the phillips screws. The offending LEDs are to the right of the ribbon cable. I covered them up with electrical tape, which was enough to stop any light from coming out of them.
I also noticed that some of the negative reviews mention that the power cable comes out of what appears to be the side of the unit. I have an even easier solution for this, just turn your lamp so the power cable is at the back lol.
Feature request: give the lamp memory so that it can remember the color you left it on when you shut it off/turn it on. I'd also like to know what the void in the bottom of the lamp is for. It seems as though it could be used to store a battery pack or some extra "smart" electronics to control it through a cell phone.
I used the light the first during the day on a green color, which seemed to compensate for my lack of plants in the apartment, then I moved it to my bedroom nightstand. I would set it up on red (which thankfully is the first color you get) and then go to sleep, have amazing lucid dreams (which I totally attribute to this light) and wake up refreshed around 4am, at which point I would turn off the light. At 6am I was woken up by the light, because my dog booped it with her nose. She was so happy with herself (as a side, she also rings a bell when she is hungry). I purchased this lamp and it was defective - the touch sensor didn't work. Since Amazon has such an effortless return policy, I didn't contact the manufacturer about it and just returned it to Amazon and received a refund. I also posted a review, noting the issues I had with this lamp. As others have noted, the touch sensor is hit-or-miss and many other customers had problems similar to mine. About a day after I posted my review, Aukey contacted me directly, offering to send me a replacement lamp free of charge. After confirming my mailing address on Friday, I received a replacement lamp on Monday.
Now - my original review noted that this was an extremely nice lamp. I was very happy with the lamp as a whole; my only issue was that the touch sensor wasn't responsive. Another problem I noted was that the lamp was extremely lightweight and had a smooth bottom, so touching the lamp to activate the sensor caused the whole lamp to shift across whatever surface it was on.
I believe my original lamp was an older version, or just one that happened to be defective. My replacement is perfection! The touch sensor works extremely well. There is an indicator light on the front that glows blue at all times when the lamp is plugged in. There are three levels of brightness to the white light - one touch turns the indicator light yellow and it turns on at the lowest brightness; a second touch turns the indicator light orange and the brightness goes up a level; and a third touch turns the indicator light red and then you get full brightness. My first lamp didn't do that at all - the indicator just turned red when the sensor was touched. Holding your finger on the sensor for a few seconds activates the color changing mode. Hold your finger on the sensor for a couple of seconds when the lamp is on and the lamp turns off.
The strength of the light is excellent - the lowest white light setting is fairly bright; I would think it is too bright for a night-light in a room where you were sleeping, but would be an excellent minimal light in a hallway or bathroom. The middle brightness is great and the highest brightness is sufficient to read by. The range of light is very large - it lights upward from the base and the light is cast around the room very well. At the highest brightness setting, it easily illuminates a regular-size room comfortably. The color changing mode is spectacular - an extremely wide range of colors and shades that shift smoothly. This mode also puts out a great deal of illumination; just in a variety of colors.
Best of all, this lamp has a silicon ring on the bottom that keeps the lamp stationary on whatever surface it is sitting on!
Others have noted that the blue indicator light on the front and the red power light where the power cord plugs in are somewhat bright, especially in a dark room. My initial lamp had both of those lights and they were somewhat bright. However, this replacement doesn't have the red power light at the power cord - just the blue indicator light in the front. I don't find it to be exceptionally bright and it doesn't bother me at night, but your mileage may vary.
Overall, this is a wonderful lamp; however, I want to emphasize how impressive Aukey is as a company. They saw my 3-star review, read it, noted the issues I had with their product, contacted me, and sent me a new item - absolutely free of charge. They were courteous and responsive to my issues and provided me with a solution. I admit that I am very spoiled by Amazon's no-hassle return policy and I never contact sellers or manufacturers with any issues I may have - I find it much easier to just return the item to Amazon. However, this experience has been so positive with Aukey that I highly recommend anyone having an issue with any of their products to contact the company directly.
I am extremely impressed with this company as a whole and very satisfied with this lamp. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good, adjustable lamp with a low profile. In the future, I will have no hesitation with purchasing other items from this company. Great service!
I'm conflicted. On one hand this is an attractive, portable, multi-colored LED light with a clever touch-based control system. On the other hand it's a disposable plastic lamp--there's no access to the bulb, so when it burns out you have to toss the entire unit in the trash--that can't be utilized with any smart-home system. Forget turning on the light remotely with Alexa or Siri.
I initially bought this lamp along with a Sylvania Bluetooth light, assuming I'd be able to swap out the bulbs and integrate the lamp into my homekit system. Nope. I considered returning the lamp, but I actually like the look of it in my kitchen, and the touch-controls (simply touch the base to activate the light, touch again to brighten, long-press to change colors) are intuitive and convenient. However--even though LED lights have a ridiculously long life span--this is 2018 and the average consumer is sensitive to environmental concerns. Frankly, in this era, purchasing a disposable lamp shouldn't even be an option.
Update: subsequent to posting my review, I received an email from Aukey in which a representative thanked me for my input and claimed that the company is seriously considering changing the design of the lamp so that the bulb is replaceable. Which...maybe? Either way I do appreciate the effort and the admirable customer service. Aukey also offered me a full refund, which I declined. The truth is that I like this lamp. The one-touch function is useful, the lamp looks nice, and I enjoy all of the color and brightness options. I hope they do end up altering the design, but as disposable lamps go, this is a solid purchase.
I had this item in my wishlist for quite some time because I just wasn't sure if I was going to like it, OR that it wouldn't function the way I hoped it would. Someone else purchased it for me for Christmas, and in the few days I have been using it, I am quite satisfied!! The silver band along the bottom is very sensitive to touch (as described in the product packaging) so it doesn't take much touch to turn it on or adjust to the various levels on the white light. A longer, lingering touch will activate the colors. I wanted to give just one a try before I purchased a second for my husband's side of the bed, but after the first night, he was already jealous and we were ordering a second lamp! Now both are set up (see picture) and they have a nice minimalist design while providing ample light, and we especially appreciate being able to control the intensity. Taking a photo of the light doesn't do it justice in terms of brightness, but it is certainly enough if you are truly doing beside reading--it will NOT light the whole room; however, we have two now so it actually does a pretty good job of lighting up the space if they are both on. Again, we have only had these for a few days, and I am hopeful they will last a while. This doesn't take batteries, but has a d/c plug.

I don't know why I'm soo attached to this thing.
The gf made me buy it for the bedroom. I giggled at the fact its got all the color changing LEDs in it and told her that she would have to pay for it.
As soon as I got it, I told her it was now mine and that she didn't have to worry about forking over the cash.
Screw the colors. This thing is sleek, well built, looks high end. touch sensitive switch is accurate. The color of the while light is what I'd imagine would be produced when unicorns rub their horns against eachother. It even has 3 brightness levels; as if the light could summon the angels.
I would trade my favorite worn out Levis before I give this up.
I have read a lot of the reviews here and I'm not saying that they aren't true I've gotten lots of stuff that doesn't work when I take it out of the box but since I've had this I've considered buying more of them I love it by my bedside as I am mostly in bed for my health and it has worked fine I have not tried the colors much because that's not really what I want but as far as the light source itself low medium high is wonderful and very sensitive touch is all that's needed my cat lays next to it and does not Set It Off so I don't know why some people have problems and some don't but I do personally recommend this and plan to buy more. I want to add I read a review by someone who said the company offered to refund for a better review I am here to tell you that I am not a paid reviewer I am an actual customer and I guess if you're that picky about having to touch the lamp a couple of times you should just go ahead and get a lamp that has a switch on it I like this lamp a lot. If it goes bad later I'll change the review but for now it's everything I hoped it would be.

These are things I've noticed about the table lamp that I didn't know when I only watched the review video.
- The lamp comes with an AC adapter (photos attached) that must be used to power on the table lamp. From the photos on the product page and the video review, I had assumed that the table lamp was actually wireless and the adapter was used to simply charge the lamp.
- The touch panel of the lamp does not respond to touches that are too quick. Like it's shown in N2styx's video, you want to make sure you touch the lamp long enough that the LED light can register the touch and turn on/off the lamp properly.
- On occasions, the lamp can 'malfunction'. By that, I mean the LED light can sometimes flash between red and blue constantly and you will not be able to control the lamp's system. I stumbled onto this 'malfunction' when I was holding the lamp in my hand by the touch panel while I was plugging in the adapter into the wall. The prolonged touch seem to make the lamp get stuck in the rotating color mode, and I had to pull out the adapter to reset it.
Overall, this is a fantastic lamp that's useful for both work as well as making a nice atmosphere for a room.
