Overall, these plugs work just fine. Shouldn't be used on anything that draws moderate power. So they are great for things like lamps for example. Product is rated for 10Amps, but I would not use it on appliances. It's just made too cheaply (which makes it a great budget buy). The plugs use smart life app, but their firmware lacks some serious features, even basics such as indication of the Wi-Fi signal strength. No issues using the product, but it is a budget buy and not UL rated.
I was quite skeptical about these, at only $7 each (two for $15)… but I figured I'd give them a try.
OMG they work GREAT! I set up four of them in less than 20 minutes. They are FANTASTIC with Alexa and the Smart Life app (which works on the Fire Tablet if you install the Google app packages).
Response time when asking Alexa to turn on the light is about 1.5 seconds, usually before Alexa responds back with "okay".
Keep in mind you cannot fit two of them into a standard double-outlet.
Easy to set up. Works great with my Google Home Mini. I had the devices set up very quickly once I put my phone on the 2.4mhz channel on my wireless.
I used these for the lamps in my front entry way. Now when I walk in the door and say "hey google, I'm home" the lights come on and if I forget to turn them off, I can easily check the status of the outlet and turn them off through my app anywhere I have cell signal and a data connection.
Works great and is super easy to use. Very convenient with the app. I took off one star because it's too big to allow you to use the other outlet. But I bought a cheap outlet tap and it works with that. Overall, I recommend. It would just be nice if they made it a couple millimeters smaller on the bottom so it didn't block the other plug.
As a geek, this took embarrassingly too long to get working.
1. Create an account on the smartlife website noted in the instructions
2. Install the smartlife app
3. Plug in the smartlife plug with a device plugged into it.
4. Log into the app.
5. Scan for devices from the app.
6. Install the smartlife skill in the Alexa app
7. Name the plug something like "Room Light"
8. "Alexa, turn on the Room Light" and it should work.
I only wish I could find a use for more than 1...

I like that the device does not cover the entire outlet. The bottom outlet remains accessible. But I would prefer that the device be plugged into the bottom outlet while leaving the top outlet accessible. I know this is picky but seems to make more sense to me. Also the provided instructions are not very complete or understandable. At least for me this required a fair amount of trial and error to take advantage of the multitude of features provided by the device.
Wow! This product amazed me, very easy yo set up with your phone app and then linkit it with google home... Tip: The first time. U set up these cuties put the phone as much closer as you can from the plug. I Had issues trying to connect it the first time i tried, always gave me "failed" messsge, once I put the phone close to the plug and link it... Easy breeze!! What I really like about these. Is that you dont have to buy anything extra and u can convert ur old lamps into a smart ones... Recommended...now I need more.. Lol.... Share the permission with with my dad and sister into theirs phones as well is a very convenient way to get your home smarter
After 3 weeks of daily use, these continue to work perfectly and exactly like the more expensive ones I bought before finding these. Set up was so easy once I stopped over thinking it and watched a YouTube vid on how to do it. I will definitely be ordering more. I'll report back if anything changes.
We put this in as a utility room light. The light switch is in an awful place so we put in this bulb and connected it to Alexa. It was really easy to setup and now we can turn the light on without the poorly placed switch.
these are really great smart plugs, I purchase on set of two, and are easy to program and set-up, they do work perfectly with Alexa and can be incorporated into Alexas routines perfectly customized timing and schedules.
