I am a 10 year nail veteran. When I finally made the move from commission to booth rent, I had to buy up to date hardware. I had been using the black OPI led light at my previous salon. That light is amazing and has been discontinued, but it had set a standard for my quality of work. OPI had just released the new OPI studio white led light, which I had purchased for $200. The unit was finicky and I ended up returning it because it overheated at the base and burned the tips of my fingers. I set out on a mission to find a led light that equal to the black OPI led light I had been previously using. THIS light is the answer!!! It has the 48W LEDs for a quick set time. Cutting my appointment times by about 20 minutes!! 3 of these LEDs are concentrated on the thumbs so you will avoid running and pooling. Also, the reflective removable base is AWESOME!!! I have clients with arthritis, I can remove the base and hold it above their hands without any curing issues. Also practical for pedicures. This light is also POLITE! It's says "hello" when it starts and "goodbye" when it is done! My OPI light wasn't that polite!
I spent a few weeks researching different brands, different wattage, the placement of the bulbs, and the removable base was a must. This light was half the price and is everything I asked for. Stop questioning it and buy it!
I have to tell you... I spent a lot of time googling and reading product reviews... seriously hours. I can't tell you how absolutely satisfied I am with my purchase. This is the machine you want to buy!
I've only used the machine twice but will likely change polish once every 1.5 times per week so I'll definitely update this review in a few months. The polish (Base: Gelish; Nail Color: Perfect Match) lasted just as long as having my nails done in a nail salon before it started to chip (about a week and a half for me). The beauty is... now I can change my nail color as often as I like while watching TV in my PJs. :)
Response to some of the reviewer's complaints:
1) If you're not familiar with the technique, I highly recommend a YouTube video before starting.
2) There's occasionally a slight burning sensation or feeling of high heat on your nails the first few secs you stick you hands in the dryer BUT this is normal. It happens every time my nails are done in a salon. The sensation is no more or less. You will not die.
3) I suggest doing one hand at a time. Base and color on one hand, base and color and the other hand, then top coats last.
4) Finally, the exterior will feel sticky to the touch until you wipe the top coat with alcohol. I wash my hands immediately after and firmly wipe my nails to bring back the shine.
Hope this helps!
TL;DR: This nail lamp is great and will cure all LED gel colors . I use Lechat and its perfect!
----------
When I first got into gel nails, I started off with the MelodieSusie 12W LED Nail Lamp. This worked really well for Gelish and OPI GelColors. However, I started to purchase Lechat Perfect Match, because I like the regular nail polish that comes with it. However, Lechat polishes would not cure properly using the 12W Nail Lamp. After two days of wear, the polish would peel off, leaving a wet residue underneath. I attempted to cure my nails for a longer period (2 mins vs 30 secs) and used even thinner layers. This worked for a short while, but I could smell finger nail polish everywhere I went. This told me that my nails were under cured. Lechat recommends a 36W LED nail lamp. And while this was something I knew, I just didn't want to drop the cash for a more expensive nail lamp. After about one year of purchasing different gel colors (OPI, Gelish, Elite 99, Lechat and Exclusive Nail Couture) along with base coats and top coats, I thought maybe it was time to make the switch.
What I love about this lamp:
* Its motion activated
* Has a timer
* It has a fan, keeping your nails nice and cool while preventing heat spikes
* Fits all my entire hand and ACTUALLY cures gel on all 5 fingers.
* The bottom is removable. While this means I have the option of doing gel pedicures, I will probably never use this feature.
What I don't like about this lamp (but are definitely necessary in a nail salon):
*The beeping. It beeps when you press a button, insert your hand or when the timer goes off. Its not terrible, since it does alert me to the current situation. However, I find the feature unnecessary for my needs.
*The timer is on the back of the lamp. I have no idea how much time is left when I put my hand in, but I know that its somewhere between 0 and 30 seconds.
I took the advise of others who seemed to know what they were talking about, and they did! I had the Gelish older model and had to do my thumbs separately. Since I do this at home for myself, it wasn't a big deal, just annoying because it took longer. Plus, the Gelish timer was for about 60 seconds or so (can't remember exactly). I got a little bonus and decided to treat myself. If I could cut down on the time, it would really help (as other reviewers indicated it would). Well, I love it. I set the timer for 30 seconds. You don't have to push it again, once it's set it is set. Then, I prepare my whole hand and just stick it in and the light automatically works. In 30 seconds, my polish is cured. It does have shorter timers, I'll play around with that but I think 30 seconds is completely acceptable. It's bigger than the Gelish model I had, at least double. I just store it in the box it was shipped in. This was a great splurge for me. I think if you have a small shop and do nails professionally, this would also be very adequate. I hope this helps.
This nail lamp is marvelous. Really, it is everything I could have asked for. It's pretty, it works very quickly, it's strong, I could go on! The bottom is held on by very strong magnets, but you can take it off to do pedicures. Also, you don't have to fidget with buttons. Once the lamp is plugged in, you select your setting (5, 10, or 30 seconds I believe), and once you set your hand/foot in, it automatically turns on and then off when the timer is up. To restart, you just have to slightly lift your hand and set it back down, and ta-dah! No more buttons to fidget with and a fabulous set of nails. I'd say this is stronger than most professional set ups as well from my experiences in how long it takes to dry.

I received this product today and had to use it right away. I am always nervous of the more expensive items I buy online but I relied upon the Amazon reviews and went ahead and purchased. I LOVE it! The previous reviews on it getting very hot under the lamps are accurate! The first minute or two I used the lamp it wasn't noticeable but after the base coat was applied and the color coat I could definitely notice the heat! If anything changes with my review I will come back but so far it's amazing.
I upgraded to this lamp from Melody Susie 12w as I wasn't fully happy with it. Previously I owned a lamp of a different brand which I loved but when we start to travel I needed a small lamp working from both 110W and 240W so 12w was a good choice. However it didn't dry to lower part of my thumb and was not powerful enough to dry Pink Gellac gels and I was really curious about this new brand of nail polishes. So after a year I decided to upgrade to 48w led lamp choosing between Melody Susie and OPI Studio led. After deep research I decided on Melody Susie thanks to its warranty policy. It is just in the small chance the lamp doesn't work properly it is always better to deal directly with manufacturer than with third party sellers. Long story short I love my new lamp. It works as it should and sleek red design remindes me of expencive cars. This lamp does look expensive if it matters to you or your clients. I'm using it for two month now and it cures wonderfully my favourite brands as Pink Gellac and Madam Glam. I would prefer it not to beep this loud because sometimes it wakes up my kids. And I would love to have 60sec option but it doesn't really bother me to put my hand in twice if needed.
I am totally enjoying this lamp, this is definitely an upgrade from my drug store brand LED light. it cures my gel like a dream in 30-60 seconds. When I do fills I am amazed I have no lifting at the cuticles or the free edge, which I had all the time with my previous light. The sensor on the light can be a bit annoying at times because you have to move your hands around sometimes to get the light to come on. I wish that the lamp had a 60 sec button instead of 20 or 30 sec because most products cure for 60 sec. I would recommend this light because it gets the job done.
The lamp itself seemed nice, however, it did arrive to my house defective. Where the power cord is supposed to plug into the light, there was no place to plug it in, but a big empty hole that allowed me to see wires inside the light. Fortunately, I was able to get the piece out from the inside well enough to get it to work, however it does not fit properly into the hole because it looks as though the plastic piece had been burned, which is what caused it to fall inside the light from the beginning. I love MelodySusie products, and have a 12W lamp that I adore, but am extremely disappointed in their quality control. I would've appreciated a discount since the item arrived broken to me and I had to fix it, but I don't think that will be happening. Otherwise this lamp is much stronger than my 12W, which is why I was in the market for a new lamp in the first place. I do enjoy the automatic turn on feature it has where the light automatically turns on upon inserting your hand into the light, and stays on for the selected time buttons on the back.
EDIT: Melody Susie actually reached out to me because they noticed my dissatisfaction with their product and wanted to fix it right away. They shipped me another light, completely free of charge, and didn't make me go through the hassle of returning the old one. I will forever be a customer of this company, and this is why!
This is a really good machine for the price. It has led lights throughout to cure all surface of the nails. However there are a few things I didn't like. The entry is not that big, so when you put your hand in you have to be extremely careful. Inside however, is wide which is nice. The 2nd thing I didn't like is that the timer does not reset after you stop it before it reach 0 second. For example, if you take your hand out at 15 seconds and put it back in the timer will continue at the 15 seconds. Other then that, this is a great dryer
