Has a nice port to allow wires and has a small lip to keep items in place. Very easy and fast to install. Requires only a small flat head screwdriver to remove existing outlet cover and install this. Comes with two face plates to fit different outlet types.
This thing is stunningly will-built for the price. I was expecting ill-fitting, flimsy plastic. Nope! The shelf component is a thick, rigid, high quality plastic. It was also a pleasant surprise to see that it came with two metal outlet faceplates - one for standard outlets and one for a GFCI receptacle. If you're comfortable replacing an outlet cover (one screw), this thing is dead simple to install.
Was Impressed with the quality even though it’s made of plastic.wall plates are metal and heavy,they installed easily and echo dot is up out of the way from stuff on the shelf below. Wish it did come with a shorter cord but I wrapped the cord around the shelf to keep it tidy and out of the way from getting tangled up
I own 3 of these outlet shelves from three different Mfr. I had initially ordered a different shelf but it turned out to be too wide at the top so it hit the wall mirror right next to the outlet and didn't fit. I then looked for something not so wide at the top but wide enough and deep enough to fit my electric toothbrush base. This popped up and I was a little skeptical at first because it was much less than others. After receiving it I was no longer concerned. It has 2 pieces that snap into place and it comes with 2 different metal wall plates, one for a standard outlet with the screw in the middle and one for a GFCI outlet with the screw on top and at the bottom. The first shelf I got was only for a GFCI outlet and used the existing plastic cover on the outlet. After I installed it, which is very easy, I'm very happy with it and highly recommend it.
I really like this little shelf. It's made of strong materials ( plastic and metal ) and it fit my wall outlet perfectly.
I'm using mine for my Echo Plus and decided that it looks better with the shelf upside down. This allows the Echo to hide the plug(s) and outlet. I tucked the wires into the side slot on the back of the shelf and ran the plug through a hole that I drilled to help keep the wire hidden. ( See pictures ) It works great!
( FYI - I use my Google plug because it is white and matches better than the black Amazon plug. )

Very easy to assemble and install. Works perfectly for getting my Amazon Echo off the counter.
I received this product today and was quite impressed with the quality of the materials.
I had it installed in approximately one minute, very easy.
It’s a heavy duty plastic and metal combination was pleasantly surprised. The shelf is also much larger than I expected. All Around a very good value.
If you have gizmos that need to perch near their outlet (hubs for smart lights, voice assistants, electric toothbrushes or shavers), then this is a great product that elevates these items off the countertop or floor.
Installation is easy - the two pieces slide together, you remove the existing outlet cover, then the new outlet panel provides the holding power for the shelf.
If the plugs you have for your devices aren't oversized squares or don't need to share the outlet with a WiFi booster, then this product is 5 star. I had a Wifi booster that had to share the outlet with an oversized plug and it's a little snug but they fit!
I saw this and was excited as I didn't have anyplace to put my 2nd Echo in the bathroom. Ordered after reading the reviews. Came via prime and went to install and discovered I was a dolt as I didn't think about the clearance under the cabinet where it would have to go-Echo was too tall. After some deliberation I decided to try it upside down. It worked! The cable control becomes obsolete with it upside down but it is just as sturdy and gave me the clearance I needed. I used a Belkin surgeplus swivel protector for additional outlets that would be accessible. So happy!
Wife has to have her phone within two feet of her at all times...so, I put this one next to the bathroom sink. She get's to charge and listen to music now without taking up even MORE space on the counter.!!. Very study and easy to install. We're lucky to have a few spare short-very-short USB cords that make this even more handy as there is pretty much NO cord dangling. When the need comes up I'll be buying more...
