The curse of reading reviews....some people love it, others hate it. Cats are picky, and I don't think these should get a bad review because someones cat didn't like them. Why can't you just return them? I return a lot of things and never any problem with Amazon. Anyway...
My cats LOVE these. 1 cats really loves them, the other likes them OK. People complain about the hair not coming off well. Geez, you want perfection in everything? Yes its a little tricky to get hair off but if you do it right it peels off in almost 1 hand-shaped piece (see pics) . My 1 cats doesn't like the brush much but likes these more because its like being petted. My other cat is a whore for these...I put one gloved hand by his face, which he rubs all over the glove while I brush his body with the other. He lets me do it for up to 10 mins before he gets tired of it, as most any cat will do eventually, if your arm holds out that long. When the fur you brushed off gets piled up on the glove, pull up around the edges and peel it off. It usually dines't all come off in 1 piece unless you tired, which I did for this pic. I would be happy to answer and q's. I have had cats all my life.
First let me say that I almost NEVER write product reviews, but feel like I would really like to write one for these Pet Grooming Gloves. We have two hairy, senior, sister German Shepherd dogs. Lots of dog hair to be had - it seems that just looking at them makes hair fly off of them. Regular grooming with the Furminator removes a lot of hair but the dogs will only tolerate its use on their backs and sides, due to tender arthritic joints and generalized soreness from aging. So, I thought I would give this product a try - and what a difference ! While the gloves do not remove quite as much as hair as the Furminator, there are other distinct advantages for their use. First, they can be easily used over the whole body - including legs, soft belly, tail, and even the head. All areas can actually be massaged, which the dogs clearly enjoy. The dogs LOVE this. In fact, as soon as they see the gloves they go into their happy dance, happy face mode, while hip-checking each other out of the way to be first in line. Since using the gloves for a while now it seems that the quality of their coats is actually better - perhaps a benefit of massaging the skin and stimulating hair growth (more hair?? - better hair). Their coats are softer and more glossy.
Bottom line: these gloves have been absolutely great for my aging hairy dogs, and clearly they will be my only grooming aide for the girls. What else is there to say? Maybe give them a try.
I’m editing my review. I originally gave this product only 3 stars since it did not work for my particular dog. The retailer promptly contacted me and offered a full refund/help resolve any issue. I appreciate the quick customer service.
To be clear I have a small Rat terrier/ Chihuahua mix. He has short straight hair. My dog certainly enjoys the massage he gets from the gloves. While it grabbed some hair, the hair did not stick to the gloves as well as it does with longer haired dogs. To provide some insight to everyone that is curious about how this would work on their short haired dogs.
I have a 4 month old husky pup (Sasha) that just started shedding. I have a furminator, but unfortunately she really is too young for that and she hates being brushed, even when brushed lightly to avoid touching her skin.
These grooming gloves are the perfect solution! My puppy would sit and let you scratch her all day if you had the time! I can sit and wipe her down and 'scratch/pet' her with the gloves on and she can't get enough of it! It is a win-win scenario. It does take longer than a de-shedding brush like the furminator, but like I said, it is quality time with my pup! She is finally allowed back on the bed!
The gloves are super easy to clean too. I initially made the mistake of trying to pull all of the hair off, which doesn't work well since it is obviously meant to hold on to the hair. Instead, rub the gloves together like you are trying to warm your hands and the hair will quickly ball up and fall off into the trashcan!
Pros:
Easily removes hair
Great for puppies
Puppy thinks I am petting her and loves the attention - more quality time!
Easy to clean
Cons:
takes a little bit longer than a brush, but then again you do have two hands!

These gloves work wonders for my long-haired German Shepherd puppy. My puppy is 11 months old and sheds like crazy. The gloves are perfect because my puppy does not like being brushed by those rough brushes and tries to bite them. With the gloves she doesn't care as much.
Oh, my goodness! These gloves are amazing. Having recently adopted an 18 year-old cat, we are now a four cat household and our apartment was getting oh, so hairy. So far, three of our four cats have fallen in love with being groomed with these gloves. Sometimes, they express a little hesitation initially but start purring very quickly and then move into the caress, showing that they enjoy the experience. Our most affectionate cat, Jasper, even turns this way and that as if to ask that I stroke him all over.
Our cats are small to medium in size (the largest is about 9.5 pounds and our little old lady cat is about 5.5 pounds). With the larger boys, I stroke them using a combination of the palm of my hand and the finger tips. With our frail little old lady, I most just use one or two fingers at a time with very gentle pressure.
Once I've picked up a lot of hair with the gloves, it's easy to rub the hair off and start again.
I am hoping to use these grooming gloves to help our jealous little girl get more comfortable with our new little old lady. I thought that by transferring scents back and forth, they would get more comfortable with each other. So far, though, our jealous little girl is not enjoying the experience, so I think I will have to take it really slowly with her. But I've only had the gloves for a couple of days, so I am not giving up yet.
I've attached a photo of our little old lady cat (because who wants to use a pair of hairy rubber gloves?)
I've been looking for an alternative way to manage my pup's shedding and all I can say I wish I got these sooner. These gloves showed to be more beneficial all around compared to the typical brushing. For one the pup likes it as opposed to the brush he tried to avoid at every session so I’m not wasting time anymore trying to get him to come here and stay here, etc.. Now it’s wagging tails instead at the sight of these gloves. The process is much quicker now too as the gloves gather not only easier, but I’d say at least twice if not triple the amount of hair at a time. Apparently these gloves work on his mood too as he always ends up starting a playfight nibbling at the gloves. That’s the only distraction really, and not one I’ll ever complain about.
Given some of the reviews here I can’t help but wonder how some function on a daily basis. You do not need a vacuum cleaner to get the hair out are you kidding me? Lol Basicand obvious ways work just fine, like picking them out, if you wait till you have a nice thick coat gathered then the hair will bundle up and come off as a layer you can peel off as one piece. If using both gloves rub your palms together it will start rolling the hair in a bundle. You can also use a comb or similar to lift the hair from between the bristles if you prefer. Improvise people improvise.
I’m just baffled here, I really don’t get the logic behind the complaints that they don’t come out easily, that’s actually a good thing… if they would that would also mean they wouldn't stick to the gloves in the first place either and you’d just end up spreading the hair around. By all mean if it’s that much of an issue you should go ahead and purchase generic flat gloves then, that will work so well for you that you won’t have any hair to pull out at all. Good stuff ain't it?
This is an amazing product for shedding and non shedding dogs!! We got 2 Golden Doodles, litter mates, and it's very funny that one got the shedding fur of the Golden Retriever, and the other got the hypoallergenic non shedding fur of the Doodle. These gloves did a wonderful job at helping us groom both the dogs!!! And to remove the hair from the glove, all I did was run my hand backwards (from fingers to wrist) a few times which really did a great job! I'm totally recommending this to my friends!!
My cats love it and it definitely works. Removal of the hair from the gloves is less difficult the more hair is on it. My biggest complaint is that the black material the rest of the glove is made from holds on to hair and it does not come off so the gloves remain messy and drop hair even after the blue silicon nubs have been cleaned off. I have to store it in a bag after use. That black material should be changed to a smooth material that does not hold on to hair.
