Great bag that expands to a larger size and fits in overhead bins when not overstuffed. I went to Amsterdam, flew to the UK, took about ten trains or more all the way up the UK and back down again, and on a road trip through Belgium and France so I will say it went through a lot and took care of my stuff inside. Some of the little tactical loops were unnecessary for me (and probably everyone) but they didn't get in the way. Some of the things are removable and so it was nice to take off the more hiking straps etc. I'm so glad I bought it. Not a plain black suitcase like everyone else and had enough pockets to stay organized. Stuffed it full on my return home and the airlines made me check it but thta's because it was a really full flight and I got it no problem and nothing inside was crushed or damaged. Love it.
The expansion is generous and makes this accommodate a WHOLE LOT of stuff. The chest strap keeps even a heavy load stable. There are many pockets of different sizes and shapes, plus a water bottle holder. When I got caught in a sudden cloud burst, the clothing, book, and cell phone inside it stayed nice and dry. I am NOT the typical user ... I do not do serious hiking. I am a senior citizen with two bad knees, and I get around well with two canes. Aquatherapy helps, so I use this to tote wet beach towels, water bottle, water shoes, sun block, etc.
So far, so good. Right out of the box I noticed I had gotten more bag than I initially thought. There were two small, holster type pouches that clipped and velcroed to the main shoulder straps. This was a happy surprise, as I didn’t notice them in any of the product pictures. There is also a large storage area that is accessible from the “back” of the bag. (The part against your back) I love that the waist belt comes off, and is also held firmly in place with Velcro. My main goal with this bag was to eliminate the need for checked luggage when traveling, and I can tell I will have plenty of space for all my traveling needs. The straps inside the main compartment for securing my clothing items were also unexpected and much appreciated. The zippers seem sturdier than a similar bag I’ve owned. There is also a clip attached in one compartment that seems to function as a quick-release for keys? The main compartment zippers have holes which meet up so you can lock them closed. 4 stars for now because I haven’t actually traveled with the bag as of yet. Will update after my first successful trip.
I needed a new backpack. This one looked good, had good reviews and was priced right. I didn’t know what to think when I opened the box. I’m still figuring out some of the straps and buckles. It’s a little more backpack than I really need for daily use, but I’m getting used to it. It is huge. I could definitely pack a 4 days trip worth of clothes and accessories in this. My problem is to not overload the pack. I’ve received many compliments on this purchase. I like the tan color. My last backpack was black so this is a nice change.
I love this bag. Got it for a multipurpose backpack to use for travel, camping/hiking, and my survival/bug out bag when I'm not using it. I love how it expands and the side buckles make it easy to secure it and reduce the size if it's full. Sturdy, well made, lots of pockets, ample space. I wanted an easy way to carry an external monitor (23.5 inch diagonal screen) along with 17 inch laptop, but did not want a backpack large enough for the Appalachian trail. I use it for karaoke at a nursing home, I bring two corded microphones, above mentioned laptop and monitor. various electrical cords, stand for monitor, small mouse etc. Does have a new fabric smell as so many things do. The zipper for the large compartment will not close with the monitor in the backpack but the side straps keep it secured with the top open. Material, zippers and zipper pulls, straps, and buckles all seem made to last. larger than other similar backpacks I looked at and was ideal for me.
I can not say enough good things about this back pack this is my 2nd pack one gets very heavy use as my work pack and the other one is a go bag what is really nice about the pack that it can expand bigger if need be and the zippers have not failed my yet even with daily use the pack feels good on my back even with a heavy load and I am talking about 70 pounds . Well worth the money for what you get .
My husband actually uses this as his computer bag to take his laptop back and forth to work along with all his other necessities, like his lunch, snacks, folders, etc... It has plenty of pockets and dividers so nothing gets mixed up or ruined. He also loves all the hanging places on the outside. He has a few Christmas decorations adorning it right now. He loves it.
Has more hooks straps and connectors then you know what to do with it should come with an instruction manual. Heavy zippers heavy canvas spent 40 years in the military I would take this any time over the military stuff
