Edifier R1010BT 4" Active Bluetooth Bookshelf Speakers - 2.0 Computer Speaker - Powered Studio Monitor (Pair)

Edifier R1010BT 4

I didn't see any reviews for these when I ordered them, but they have everything i wanted: small, Bluetooth, and under $100.
MAN was I surprised when I set them up. They sound amazing! and dont take up much space with my record player. The only thing that could've made them better was a remote (the extra $30 wasnt worth it though).
Oh, and the directions got me too: pressing rhe volume button once turns the bluetooth on, not holding down the button.

I listened to these speakers on my initial evaluation for over 2 hours with some of my favorite music tracks and I am pleasantly surprised by their performance. For the price and size these speakers are excellent. The bass was very good for such small cones. A previous reviewer stated the sound would be disappointing and I can't agree with him at all.
Update
I have been enjoying the sound of these speakers for 2 months. My Bluetooth listening in my Bedroom has been with a Bose Wave. These speakers give stereo separation, something the Wave can't based on it's design. I am extremely happy with this speaker system. I changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars, I highly recommend it
Update
After 2 months of use, my only issue is a pop/crack emitted when a Bluetooth device begins to play. This only happens when the initial track is aboit to start playing.. There are no issues when the device is stopped or disconnected.

I bought these instead of the AudioEngine A2 speakers that my audiophile friend recommended because $250 for desktop speakers is far more than I feel comfortable spending. They sound great to my non audiophile ears and far better than the $15 speakers I had attached to my work computer. These are a bit large but I'm ok with the size. One of the other reasons I purchased these was due to the bluetooth capability. It works well and I haven't noted any issues with the exception being that my Sony NW-A45 Walkman can't control the volume when connected via Bluetooth. I am unsure if this is an issue with the speaker or the Walkman. My iPhone 8 has no issues connecting and controlling the volume via Bluetooth however. They are a great buy for the price. I am using them with the grills off as I really like the look of the yellow diaphragm

I'll give credit where credit is due. I wasn't expecting much when I came across these for $60. I was eyeing the r1280t because of the reviews, but I really just needed something nice to put on my office desk to play some background music. Well worth it! I'm sure the r1280t sounds better, but at $40 less and at the volume I'll be playing them these will work. The sound is full and bass could be a bit muddy if you crank up the bass knob. For home where I like to play my music much louder maybe these wouldn't do, but for my office. Perfect.

The speakers are nicely built. Easy to set up. Out of the box they sounded awful. Not much base or clarity. Bluetooth connection is not the best however I won't be using that anyway. After about 30 hours of music on 55% volume they have opened up quite a bit. Base is much more present. Also the base it quite strong and punchy but quality of bass is meh. Mids are almost none existent. I'm actually going to give these to my parents for there computer. They sound a lot better after 30 hours. my S1000db sound so much better it's not even close but my parents dont care about perfect sound quality. only payed $50 for these with a coupon. My parents are using 10 dollar cheapo speakers so these will sound incredible to them.

As for loudness I was surprised at how loud they get. Anything over 60% volume my neighbors in the apartment next to me will probably hear it.

For the $50 I payed I'm satisfied.

Description

Housed in 100% medium-density fiberboard (MDF), this R1010BT is the revisitation of the Edifier classic, the R1000TCN. Featuring 4" bass drivers and 3/4" silk-diaphragm tweeter drivers, R1010BT bookshelf speaker is engineered to deliver commanding sound with subtlety and details.

For a personalized listening experience, you'll find the bass and volume adjustment dials at the back of this bookshelf speaker. R1010BT also features dual stereo line-in ports, with dynamic treble enhancement on port A. Most of all, it is Bluetooth ready.

Construction quality is very high. Sound quality also very high but starts to muddle at about 70% volume, at which point the tweeter seems strained. They sound best just before this volume point.Outstanding choice if you want to have something for casual listening like you would have at an apartment or office. These observations are with bluetooth only.

I purchased this set of speakers after returning a pair of JBL speakers, for which I did not even get a chance to try them out since they arrived in open box/used condition. The Edifier R1010BT speakers arrived in pristine "brand new" condition, and the quality of the speakers exceeded my expectations considering the fact that they cost less than $100. The bluetooth feature seems to work just fine even though I do not use it often, and I do recommend Edifier R1010BT.

If you are experiencing the muddy (low volume) sound on these speakers, especially while watching a movie online on your pc, this might help: For Windows 10, right-click the speaker icon on the lower right -> go to 'Sound' -> under 'Playback' tab, right-click 'Speakers' from the list and go to 'Properties' -> under 'Enhancements' tab, you will see a list of sound effects including Environment, Voice Cancellation, etc. -> scroll down on that list and CHECK the box next to 'Loudness Equalization.' If this does not improve the sound, then you might want to check 'Equalizer' and make changes to the setting under 'Sound Effect Properties' to see if that works for you. Hope this helps.

love these speakers, love em.my desk isn't much bigger than a milk crate and i have my mixer and computer hooked up to these.i use my mixer for in the first connection and the computer in the other connection .great sound for what i paid for these.i use my mixer for my iPad, phone, keyboards excet, and the computer stand alone.they are a good size for a small apartment and desk .they have a big sound and ive had my neighbors give me a kind stomp on my ceiling letting me know im sharing to much. just awesome.. i do recommend these to anyone on a budget or with limited space.

I absolutely love these speakers. I play bass and electric guitar in a church band and I needed speakers to help me rehearse songs at home. I was skeptical of these speakers when I saw the price, but they looked like exactly what I needed so I tried them out and I'm glad I did. These speakers have tremendous highs and mids, and even excellent low end, especially considering the price, with the ability to EQ all of it to your liking, and they couldn't be easier to use. I love to be able to queue up a song from my phone and have it play crystal clear so I can rehearse instrumental parts along with it.

Amazing little speakers. Bought for my Son's studio as backup monitors. They sound amazing. Bass is money and highs and mids are on point.
