I like this driver. Quality is great and it can deliver a surprising amount of power. It is extremely light to hold as compared to similar models. I have 2 minor problems with it. The lowest torque setting is a little higher than I would like it to be. I have to be very careful on smaller screws. It already ripped a few heads off on setting 1. The other issue is that I wish the batteries would last longer. They don't die fast, but I think they should last longer than they do. I didn't remove a star for this since it comes with 2 batteries and a charger. All in all, it's the best product I've tried for my uses: electronics. I mostly use it for removing and installing covers that have a lot of screws. I would recommend this product over any other for my purposes. If you want a little more power, go with the Rigid 12v driver. It, too has adjustable torque and the batteries last a very long time. It is much more powerful than this Bosch, but it is much heavier, too. I bought the Rigid for my uses with electronics but I ended up trying the Bosch and I was going to return the Rigid, but I kept it because it such a cool little driver for only being a 12v.
This Bosch drill/driver has been one of my favorite tools, not only because of its smaller dimensions, but also because it has the performance capabilities that equals or exceeds larger and higher voltage drills that I have owned. The variable speed trigger has a good predictable linear response that enables the torque of the motor to be applied in exactly the intended amount and makes slow starts under varied loads easy. When releasing the trigger, the drill stops instantly. The two speed transmission engages positively and has never slipped out of gear because of vibration as some other drills I have owned. The 12 volt battery seems to provide more than enough power for any around-the-house projects and recharges in less than 30 minutes, although I have never had to change batteries in the middle of jobs because of loss of power. The spring loaded bit chuck holds bits securely and does not cause driver bits to wobble, although there is some very minor wobble when using hex drill bits. Any minor wobble on drill bits is far less than I have experienced with other quick change chucks and bits I have used and would not cause a problem unless attempting to drill very precise positioned holes in metal.
While this driver is of smaller and very practical size, it does not have the feel of a lessor quality tool. In fact, I was surprised at the heft and solid feel of the tool. I am not easily impressed by power tools because I have found drawbacks in almost all that I have owned. However, this Bosch drill/driver has continued to impress me over the last 18 months so much that I bought another to give to my son for Christmas because he was also impressed with mine when using it on the many jobs he has had to do in his new house.
I suppose that if one has major construction projects requiring the drilling of hundreds of holes or installing hundreds of screws in a day, one might want a heavier duty higher voltage tool, but for less regular jobs requiring convenience of bit changes, a smaller drill that will fit into tight spaces, high performance and surprising long battery life and power, I recommend this Bosch tool without hesitancy.
As an HVAC mechanic I'm constantly removing belt guards, inspection covers and the likes.
I remove and install on average 250 - 350 fastener's a day ranging from 1/4 self tappers, to 3/8-16 cap screws ( #14 x 1" being the most common ) this impact driver was far and away better than I would have expected. Battery life pretty much required 2 Batteries to complete a day... I ok with that.
In Nov. of 2013 I purchased this kit, as refurbished, yes that's right refurbished.
The motor blew it's brushes( not replaceable ) on Nov.10 2017 .
Yes daily use for 4 years to the day of starting to use it....So, yes I gladly give this 5***** stars....

This drill is unbelievably awesome. First some background on my job which I use this tool for. I am in home repair man for appliances and televisions. I needed a small enough drill with enough power and long lasting batteries. These batteries last me roughly 3 weeks between changes. They charge within a couple hours. The drill is compact enough (and lightweight) that I can get it into tight positions. Its rugged as well. My first drill lasted me 3 years (original batteries and charger) before I killed my drill motor. I let water drip into the motor breather holes. Oops. I bought another one. Without even hesitation, I went back to this drill. I trust it. I believe in it. I know it won't leave me stranded.
Several years ago I received, as a gift, a kit comprised of a Craftsman cordless drill and screwdriver. The drill has performed admirably, and the 19.2 volt batteries seem to be up to par, even about 12 years later. The screwdriver was a small, 3v affair that was "OK", and was useful for a few years. But the battery deteriorated, and within the last 12 months or so the battery wouldn't hold a charge at all.
So I went on a hunt for a high quality, reliable cordless screwdriver. I did a lot of reading of reviews, not only on Amazon and other retail sites, but on forums for construction professionals and serious DIYers.
The consensus seemed to come down to Milwaukee, Makita and this Bosch. The only consistent criticism of the Bosch was that the guide light does not come on prior to the drill starting to spin.
This is not true. With VERY gentle pressure, the light does come on before the spin up. Yes, it is tricky do get just the right force to accomplish this, and yes, I think Bosch could have done a better job of implementing this feature. Is that worth the deduction of a whole star? No, not in my opinion; others may differ.
This driver pretty much does everything else right. The size and form factor are great. The weight and balance seem to be perfect. The torque control is, at least in my experience so far, excellent. Shipping with a spare battery is more than a nice touch.
The only other things worth mentioning regard the carrying case. It is large and well made, but the straps that hold the driver and spare battery in place don't really do the job. In other words, the interior seems to be haphazardly designed or perhaps designed for some other tool.
So far on a few small jobs on which I've used this driver, it has performed flawlessly. As mentioned, the torque control is very good, and speed control is equally excellent.
I am expecting many good years of service, and at this point feel the price represents great value.

I have the first version of this driver and it is one of my most used cordless tools. When I need to drive screws this is the tool I go for. I rarely use a regular screw driver anymore.
The battery stays charged for weeks so it's always ready when I need it. It will easily get through several projects without having to recharge. Li-ion battery delivers full power until the charge is used up. I've had my unit for over six years and the original batteries still work great.
My son just got his first home so I bought him this newer model for Christmas. It has larger capacity batteries (2 amps versus 1.3 amps), two speed selector, and a more powerful motor than mine. It cost about $40 less than what I paid for my original model so it's a great deal on a excellent tool.
I'm in love with this thing! I bought it for a big move with lots of Ikea furniture to dis-assemble/re-assemble, and it was perfect. It has way more torque than I expected, gets into tight spaces, is light enough for a kid to help out, holds a long charge, and just generally makes life easier. I also really like the included case which has room for a few extra tools. I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation.
I had no bits or drills, so I added the Bosch MS4065 Drill and Drive Set, 65 Piece which has a great variety. I've found though that the Bosch quick-release bits are a little wobbly in the chuck and actually I prefer these smaller ones for driving: YXGOOD 33 Piece Chrome Vanadium Steel Screwdriver Bit Set with Plastic Storage Case
I researched and studied several pocket drivers after my 19.2 volt drill charger and batteries died. It was going to cost me more to replace the charger and batteries than I paid for the whole system 5 years ago. I had some workers out replacing my windows in my home and they were using a small pocket driver. Having never seen or used one before, I was impressed with the size and versatility of the tool. After research, I found the Bosch to have the best specs. It had the most torque of the other drivers and was a bit smaller and lighter. I purchased the PS21-2A and when It arrived, I immediately put it to work and test. Last week, the workers came out to finish the last half of my window replacement, and I showed them my Bosch. The lead installer had another brand he was using, and after using mine for a short time to see if he liked it, he stated that he was going to give his old one to one of his workers and order the Bosch for himself. My wife has used it and really likes how it is easy to hold and use.
Bottom line, if you are on the fence about getting one of these, then don't waste your time, just get yourself one. You will not regret it. Bear in mind that it is not a drill, but a portable wireless screw driver. Some have complained about the lack of ability to drill with it since it has no chuck. You can use the small drill bits with the 1/4 inch inserts, but it is really not designed for drilling. It really shines as a screw or nut driver tool as it was designed for.
Being an HVAC technician this is the best thing I've ever bought. It's small, gets into tight places and has plenty of torque for stubborn bolts and screws. It's also light weight and fits in my backpack. When you add a flex bit it get in to the even tighter spaces... it's an invaluable tool. I can get 2 weeks out of a battery on standard service calls.
I bought this to replace an old single speed that I burned out, repaired and burned out again. I loved the old one, so light and compact, lasting over six years with almost daily use. This one has more torque settings and is dual speed! Whaaat? With a hex chuck this drill has done everything I've asked of it so far. The batteries are the only cordless tool batteries I've had that haven't gone bad. The 2 Ah batteries are an improvement over my old but still functioning 1.3 Ah batteries. I look forward to using this tool.
