Good it arrived with a battery-protector to prevent that "DOA" too common. Ditto protective cover to prevent scratches to the display window. Bad that I can't figure out how to turn it off. I want a dark face to preserve the battery, not "00,00" on constant display. I replaced the lanyard with a 1/8" leather one, as the original was scratchy at the place it was fused. So very many uses, no more clothes sitting in washer forever, sprinkler running, cold toast. The timer has saved me a fortune: my exercise equipment is old, the electronics shot. But now I can time my sessions accurately, and change the setting completely.
I wear this around my neck around in the house. So when the appliance timer sounds and I can't hear it; the timer around my alerts me so I don't forget to turn off the oven if I'm cooking or when the laundry is done. Take it shopping so I don't get a ticket when the time expires on the parking meter.
I've had my Taylor professional digital timer/stopwatch for 5 years now, and it's still going strong. I really like being able to hang it around my neck when I have to leave the kitchen - and it faces the right way when I pick it up to check the time remaining. I'd hate to have a clip instead; those are often flimsy and easy to knock out of position. The magnet sticks firmly to the fridge when I'm not using the timer, so I always know where to find it.
The only vaguely negative thing I have to say is that although the display is adequate, I'd appreciate larger numbers. [EDIT May 5, 2010: This product seems to be an updated version of the one I got 5 years ago, and the numbers are indeed larger than the one I have. Yay, Taylor!]
This is a must-have item for anyone who doesn't want to hover around the kitchen so's not to miss the timer going off. When my mom used mine, she went right out and got herself one!
I use this for my classroom so that I always have a timer on me. The battery door in the back came off of my first one, and the battery fell out in my purse, so I had to replace it. I recommend either taping it shut or being really careful to hang this up when not in use. (Don't just throw it in your school bag like I did!)

Works great and is very practical. Only downside is that people think I am wearing a first alert device (I fallen and I can't get up)
I have a special foot exercise that needs to be done on the steps and held for 30 seconds for each foot, so this timer works great for this special need.
Easy to use, very helpful. Reminds me to turn off sprinklers etc. like it a lot.
