Shop-Vac 5979403 8 gallon 6.0 Peak Hp Stainless Wet Dry Vacuum

My old Shop Vac that I got back in maybe 2008 began to go bad on me recently, and I was installing new hardwood Oak stairs and was trying to take up the sawdust. What mess, dust everywhere. The clips were not holding the lid down, and it was the type with the foam filter and then a round paper filter would go over the foam and held in place by a plastic ring. Anyway dust all over, so I decided to look into a new Shop Vac and this item came in two days with all the accessories. I was a little confused with the bag that goes inside and slips over the inlet tube, and also the large filter that goes over where the foam filter would slip on. Figured it out and read the instruction and am happy with the suction power of this much better Shop Vac compared to the older model I know longer can use. It's about the same size as the older one but is much more powerful.

What a nice surprise to get a quality product at a great price. This little, not so little vacuum is just what I needed and wanted. Money saving price point and works like a charm. Was very easy to unpack and assemble.
Its light and it rolls very smoothly across the solid uncluttered surfaces and areas. It's the perfect size for household and as well as large job commercial use; its a tough little vacuum.
It was also very easy and inexpensive to find the replacement bags and filters. If you have a large project or intend on using this vacuum daily or so, I would recommend buying extras of each, the bags and filters.

All in all its a great little machine and if you are looking for something lightweight but intended for large jobs, a vacuum that is cost-effective and easy to use. I would definitely give this one a try. Its great.

I love the power and suction on this vacuum. It has several different nozzles so I was able to fit where I needed to go. The biggest problem I had, was trying to understand the instructions. I’m pretty good at reading instructions and following directions, but the manual was written for several different models, so it was confusing to figure out which one you were actually looking for, and then the instructions still weren’t 100% clear. Thankfully, I got it figured out! I would recommend this vacuum, but would warn that the instructions aren’t clear and the handles were hard to screw on.

A very big plus: it was shipped in the original cardboard container, no extra packaging to recycle and no styrofoam to send to the landfill. Shop-Vac was delivered yesterday, easy to assemble and works just fine. I bought this unit because of the drain and haven't had a chance to use it yet. I like the new filter bags because emptying the tub and shaking out those cylindrical filters was a very dusty experience. I have seen a lot of comments on the small hose size but I don't need to pick up anything bigger than this will handle.

I dumbly dropped this lovely dust-sucker from the top rung of my ladder. It didn't miss a beat. Still works. Still loves me. Also, I've got roughly 15 feet of hose that I use to attach my miter saw to the shopvac while I'm risking finger severances, and the Shop-Vac does an excellent job of keeping my workspace suctioned and sanctified, even as I never manage to build anything whatsoever impressive or functional or even remotely well-angled. As such, sometimes I suction up the end product along with all of its depressive shavings. Ce la vie, Bob Vila!

If you're not a carpenter but are in the risky business of raising children, don't fret. This vacuum also sucks the prolific vomit (dried or otherwise) right out of the crevices of your child's carseat. You can even suction your children directly, if tenderly, and in certain circumstances. Jenny McCarthy claims that dirty carseats, if left uncleaned, are the third leading cause of autism, after circumcision and Daniel Tiger.

This is a great bargain for the power it brings. I didn't have any problems with the latches (as other commenters mentioned) as it now has handles just under the latches. Setup wasn't too hard, and it rolls/works great. The only thing i don't like is the cluttery feel of the attatchment holder. Once you put all the accessories onto it it's a little cluttery feeling and accessories sometimes fall off as you move it around. Also the hose itself doesn't have a good place to be wrapped/attached. I think i'll just keep the accessories separate most of the time.

But beyond that the actual vacuum is very nice.

Great shop vac but after two weeks of use the motor started to spark and almost caught the hepa filter on fire. Things happen and every manufacturer can have a bad unit. I liked this shop vac so much that I’m swapping out the defective unit for a new one as this shop vac kicks butt with sucking power. Right now I’m using the shop vac with a hepa filter bag to condition the air in our kitchen after a contractor caused water leak that caused mold in both the kitchen and our basement.

Play on words with the title, but it really does suck up the dirt and debris. Cleans the car nicely. Hose is a little thinner than my other Shopvac that died. It's a smaller model, but does what I need done. And it's pretty. Very important to have a pretty shop vac these days. Shiny. So five stars.

Powerfull! Bought this vac to clean up spilled cat litter. Takes it right out of the carpet with no problem. It is noisy and the hose could be a bigger diameter, may clog taking all those gold coins and hundred dollar bills you have laying around

Finally! A compact, easy to use shop vac that actually works. This sturdy little work horse cleans up metal shavings and sawdust with ease. Then I roll it to the driveway to clean my car as well. In months of regular use, I have not had one problem with it. So far have had no need to use it with any liquid though, so time will tell on that.
