We live in a 2 story townhome and my 3 year old sleeps on the second floor. He is very intelligent and extremely strong. He's broken so many baby locks I can't even count. I needed something heavy duty for his door and I thought about giving this one a try. Well guess what? He cannot force the door open!!! I am so happy and definitely recommend this stop!!! You might want to go ahead and get at least 2! You will have to drill so be prepared for that.
Was looking for a new front door lock to fit our specific need & instead of spending $$$ decided to try this. Easy to install & VERY strong for such a little thing (I used the long screws). As an added bonus, we have little windows all around our front door & if someone broke a window and tried to reach in and unlock the locks, I think it would be nearly impossible for them to figure out how to open this without being able to see it.
Didn't take the man to long to put this in. Really put my all in and see it will help! Have had a door kicked in and want to prevent it from happening.
Love this! I have toddlers who are old enough to reach, unlock, and open the door but young enough to not know any better. We have a security system but sometimes my husband forgets to set it. This is perfect to install and use on doors (put them up high) and little people can't get out. It helps me sleep better at night not worrying about if my son will suddenly decide to wander.
My two oldest children ages 4 and 2 have figured out every child lock possible including a deadbolt child lock and though I am slightly impressed I am more terrified. My oldest likes to open the door for everyone so we needed a better solution to keep him from doing so. This works so well! We've tried other locks on our doors but if we opened the door forgetting about the lock it would break the lock. This lock is holding up strong! We love it and I would purchase it a million times more just for my sanity!

Super handy lock to add to a door! We needed some kind of extra lock on our door (it only had the handle lock) and I got this on a whim. It’s nice and heavy, seems to be well made and is easy to install. Great buy!
I really like this lock. Was a little nervous if it was as good as the defender lock and if I could easily install it onto the door frame of a 1928 10-unit city apartment building unit door frame. It worked and I love it. It solid, firm, and dependable at an industrial level.
I use it every night about 10 inches above the door chain (I live in earthquake San Francisco so the frame/door isn't level like in a brand new modern square-as-a -box newer building.
The arrow on the face plate is what won me over. It's inset and easy to see for someone that might not know what to do to unlatch this lock. Just look, and you know what to do without hesitation.
Away to the storage room went my adjustable door brace bar that was always in the way, taking up space, and not friendly to look at.
All my security needs are met with this rock solid door lock. I made the correct choice. : )
First, let me say that the instructions leave a lot to be desired. I had to figure out how to properly install the lock using my rather limited carpentry skills and some good old fashioned logic. It took awhile to figure everything out, but once I got it installed, it works great and provides very good protection for the door on which it is installed. I didn't like the screws provided with the lock, so I used some zinc-plated 3" flat head wood screws with countersinking nibs instead. The door is now solid as a rock. I seriously doubt that anyone will be able to kick in the door, especially after I replaced all the short hinge screws and strike plate screws with 3" screws. The lock is installed on the pedestrian door to my garage, which is on the back of the garage and cannot be seen from the street. I had previously installed a very bright motion detector security light over the door, but decided that the lock needed to be upgraded as well. This lock is a huge upgrade to the door knob lock and cheap little slide bolt lock that were securing the door. After watching some videos on YouTube, I realized how easy it would be for a burglar to kick in that door and loot everything in my garage. With this lock installed, I'll sleep better at night knowing that the door cannot be kicked in or pried open by your typical burglar. I deducted one star from my rating for the poor instructions and the inferior screws provided.
We love this product!!! Easy to install, perfect price, and great security. We installed them on all of our exterior doors and we are very glad that we did!!. I'd give it 6 stars if I could!!
This works pretty good , very easy to install, looks good and the most important thing keeps my 6yo with autism inside the house safe , he has tried many times to open the front door and go outside but with this lock he won't be able to open the door .
